I will never shop at Alan Evans Bridal again in Moorhead, MN. When went for measurements and to look at what was available we decided on different style then what bride picked but bride was with us. The girl helping us didnt pay much attention and we did have an appointment not like the other stores that all about that appt at that time. We found a dress but difficult finding styles to try on that were plus size we found a style of dress tried it on and when I asked what size it was many times the girl said 24...she asked how it fit and I told her it was really big in chest area but just a a bit snug in the rib area...I could sit down but a bit uncomfortable she said she would measure me...with my measurements she said size 28 would be perfect for me...concerned I said um thats 2 sizes larger and what am I going to do about the bust...she said dont worry it would be fine...they have a seamstress there...still concerned I left...yes I did sign the contract but being not a professional in the field I figured the girl knew what she was taking about. I picked my dress up and another bridesmaids on Aug. 4...the girl said try it on whenever you can at home and let us know dresses came out in bags all tied up...never once did she say please go try it on here...I LIVE IN SOUTH DAKOTA...and wouldnt be returning home because I was leaving on businesss for a few days she said as soon as you do call us. So august 11 I tried it on when I got back from business trip and the straps sat on my shoulders and the bust fell down between under my bust and belly button...I took it over to a lady that does alterations and she laughed and said they didnt know what they were doing or screwed up...she took 2 inches out of both sides and fixed where the cups came down on the side of the dress but when I tried on 8-13 she needed to take almost 2 more inches off each side and nothing more that she could do with bust without really tearing apart dress (2weeks out from wedding now...the bust was so big I could almost put two basket balls in the cups I wear a size 42c bra so I am little compared to those...I know have enough room that I can put my hand in the top of my bust still she is going to try and mess with it a bit but no promises...I called Alan Evans and explained situation and they were rude and said you signed a contract and bring the dress in (original) state and I need to come in and get measured because I could have lost that much weight...I said no weight loss all my clothes still fit in fact I probably gained a pound or two...also she said the dress you tried on was a 26 well that girl was telling me it was a 24....they dont know there product they are selling... The lady told me if I wanted to order a size 2 they would let me even if I was a size 22-24...and then she tried to blame the designers that dresses arent perfectly sized to the size you order...are you kidding me this is what I paid you guys for a dress which I told the gal at the time my concerns but she didnt document any of that.... So now its 2 weeks away and the bridal shop down here and a local seamstresss is scrambling to come up with a solution for the bust area...we have had a few issues with the girl the day of ordering dresses told us wrong info about not having to rush dresses and then all of sudden saying a balance of $30 was due on two of the dresses cause they had to be rushed...we ordered in may... On a side note when we came in to get my husband measured the lady that came to help us was in such a hurry to go eat lunch she was rude and I dont know if she even got my husband measurements right....I asked a couple questions and she acted put out and annoyed...yep I will be going else where in the future!

When I walked into Alan Evans for my wedding dress it started out as a good experience. Unfortunately that good experience ended as soon as they had my money. I’m 5’1” so instead of alterations, I paid extra to order my dress to height. When my dress came in they helped lace it up and it was too short for the shoes that I had planned to wear and was wearing when they measured. Due to this I had a hard time finding shoes and was way shorter than I wanted to be. No effort was made to correct this and the lady was actually bragging about how she measured perfectly. Then there was bridesmaid dress shopping. We were looking for a specific color and found a dress that was offered in that color. When they came in they were the wrong color. I live 2.5 hours from Alan Evans and had to drive down to get this fixed. When we got there they acknowledged that it was a different color, but then told me it was my fault and we order that color. Luckily the lady that helped me was there and remembered the color we wanted. Turns out that dress didn’t even come in the correct color. So with only one bridesmaid I had to find new and completely different dressed. The initial dress was more expensive and only after being asked for the third time did they agree to refund us for the difference. Again, no additional effort was made to correct these issues. In the end 7 dressed were ordered and none came in correct the first time. The only effort made was they ordered new bridesmaid dresses that were the correct color. I am unable to respond to the owner so Ill respond here. The reason I purchased other shoes is because my dress was over 2 inches off the ground in the shoes that I tried on in your store. Yes, you did end up ordering new dresses, but the refund was only after my mom asked several times, not your idea. If it was $20 too much that was a bad calculation on your employees part. We had a couple of tux issues and Tip Top Tux was great about making that right, on the other hand you just seem to blame the customer. From what Ive hear Im not alone in this experience.

Im from Hawaii and when I was visiting family in ND I wanted to bring my stepmom and best friend dress shopping with me. Alan Evans was the perfect place for me! After being disappointed in many dress shops this was my last stop. I told them what kind of dress I was looking for and they brought me great dresses to try on. I was about to leave with still no dress that I was absolutely in love with when Rand came in and showed me one last dress which was MY DRESS!!!! They were soo nice and friendly and stayed after the store had closed to let me try it on one last time before I left. They shipped the dress to me in Hawaii. About a month before the wedding, I had lost a ton of weight and couldnt find anyone in Hawaii who would alter the dress because of all the fancy beadwork. When I called Rand, he said they could absolutely alter the dress for me! He even went so far as to personally pin it for me when he was on vacation in Hawaii!!!! Talk about great customer service!!!!!!! I shipped them back the pinned dress and had it back very quickly! I had my perfect dress that fit me absolutely perfect!!!!!! I would highly recommend Alan Evans Bridal to anyone!!!!!!!! By far the best dress place i visited (and I visited many in ND and Hawaii!)
