On the surface it seems legit. The people are nice - well some, and they seem reputable. But theyre not. Dont let the, "we want to be in good standing with our community and our customers," line fool you. They deal and sell like all other cliche "shady" dealers. Im a nice person and I let this get in the way of good judgment. Got talked outside of my budget (partially my fault for not having a spine) and I was impressed with their claims of great auto repair service and inspection with each vehicle. I got a car that within a few days of purchase noticed a tranny slip. The slip happens when cold - they drove the car and let it run before our test drive and the salesman rode with with directed me where to drive. The drive was short and quick and no high speeds to notice the issues. (Coincidence perhaps?? --- I didnt know as I didnt purchase from a dealer before) Its legit a problem and not something any person in repairs or inspection could have missed if done properly. Im a single mom. I was on a limited budget and told these guys I couldnt afford outside my limits and something that is in need of repair and thats why I chose a newer car. Now I got higher then planned monthly payments and Im due for transmission repairs over 3 grand. Plus!!! The shop I went to said they get this all the time from Cities, currently working on 2 cars right now. Be smart - do what your told when buying a car... bring your own mechanic. Dont trust a word they say and youll most likely need the warranty. When I told them they sold me a car with a bad tranny - the dude shrugged. Told me if I want the warranty I had a month. Real nice work. I dont recommend to anyone. You mean nothing once you sign those papers and drive away. I get the concept of it not being their problem after you buy as is... but I guess Im too naive and I did think there was compassionate salesmen out there. :( UPDATE - 8/7/2017 : got a random call from Steve at Cities Auto in service. He said the manager told him to call. Wants me to go to "his guy" who does cheap transmission work (not offering to help me, just wants to give me their cost estimates as they are 50 % below average) I told him, again like the last guy, how upsetting it is that It came that way for an 8 thousand dollar car and he said its not their problem as they, "cant see inside a transmission." I told him all he had to do was drive it to know and he dismissed me like I was before - said he will call me back to give me the price to fix it. 800 to 1000 bucks. **UGH** I am sorry - still not looking forward to dumping money into this thing when I was told how wonderful and honest their mechanic work was before purchase.

I went into the dealership last night to look at a vehicle with my wife. I had seen a vehicle I wanted online and so my wife and I were bored and just went to check it out. We arrived and they would not let us even look at the vehicle before filling out a credit application. We went out to look at the vehicle after filling out an app and my wfie and I took it for a drive. The vehicle had 83000 miles on it and was a 2005 equinox. I looked at the tires first and ALL 4 were past the tread wear indicators and were the original factory tires put on the vehicle. We got into the vehicle and the power locks wouldnt work for the drivers side and the vehicle had drawings all over inside. When we left the lot I could hear a grinding in the front wheel and determined the wheel bearing was going out and I also found out the strut was going out on it. I then looked through the car and found about 1/2" of standing water INSIDE the spare tire compartment. Once we got back to the dealership we went inside and began discussing the price and what not of the vehicle. Well it turns out they applied us for a loan for 10995 and when we tried talking to them about repairs they said they could fix the door locks and everything for that price. The dealer had originally told us 9900 for the vehicle which I was willing to do and they would not go down on price at all.Well needless to say i did not agree to the terms as my brother in law just had boughten the exact same vehicle only in black for 9500. We left the dealership very upset because they were super rude when we told them no thanks and would not tell us anything about our credit they just told us "well maybe if you would have taken better care of your credit you wouldnt be in this situation". I then went online to look at other dealerships I was browsing through the Equinoxs and lone behold theres the one we had just looked at for 9900!!!!! and they had posted that price before we went to the dealer. They will do anything to try and get you to buy a vehicle from them. Im glad I did not buy from these guys. I will suffer for a few more months while I rebuild my credit and get a better vehicle. I know big box dealers could get me into a better vehicle then they could.

Salesmen will say whatever they can to make a sale. Managment doesnt backup what their salesman claim and said... well that wasnt me that said that it was him. Very snakey place. Disapointed since we bought from there years ago and had a completely different experience. I would be very weary believing anything they say as they are the steriotypical used car sales place. Heard a lot of BS to make a few extra bucks...told us a $2000 warranty was required. Called the finance company and was told it was optional. Called cities auto and asked them to remove the warranty and that we didnt want it they basically said too late too bad. Even though we said multiple times we didnt want it. Claimed the finance company needed a higher down payment ...finance company said that was bs too. Then they took it out before they where supposed to. Keep searching.. the management is rude and doesnt back up their employees. They even have you sign a form that says they are not obligated to anything their salesman verbally say. Grew up in a car sales family and knew the entire time the salesman seemed shady..I honestly just liked the damn car and was tired of looking. We where shopping for a very specific SUV. Ive written probably 3 reviews in my life...this is how irratated I am with them. Mostly the management and how badly he treated me over the phone. Most non customer oriented business Ive seen in a long time for this day in age. We plan to refinance too..the company they stuck us with was reported 688 times to the BBB. This is our 3rd time financing worst experience all around.

My wife found a 2010 Rav4 on the web and wanted to look at it before we went to Carlson Toyota to look at their used cars. They were busy and didnt have time to get the car off the show room and let us drive it so we left to go to Carlson. The first thing I noticed was that it was on the show room but was not detailed. When we went to Carlson, we compared prices and decided to go back to Cities because of the price and overall condition of the Rav4. We called ahead and asked for them to print the Car Fax and to have the car out of the show room. We arrived and test drove the car and everything was fine. I noticed no oil change sticker on the windshield, a low tire light was on and that the car was not detailed. The guys worked with us on the price, had the car fax ready and we bought it on the spot. They were able to get a good interest rate and we have had the car for 9 months and have had no problems. The major thing that stands out about Cities is that they are going to the auction to buy cars, washing them and sticking them on the lot. If you are concerned about major work, have it inspected at a local mechanic. We didnt do it because it still had warranty coverage. Look at it closely and have it inspected. The people there were very nice and open with us. I would buy another car there again. They had the best price that I could find on any Rav4 and we had been looking for over a month.
