Seriously the last time I go to this location. Two days in a row I brought in 2 different rings. I know for a fact one was 14k white gold and the other 14k yellow. Both times and by the same clerk he checks them with a magnet. No reaction so he asked to do a acid scratch test. The first day (white gold) he said, "well its stamped 14k but its not doing anything so it must have been plated and all the gold wore off". Seriously? I only assume by "not doing anything", he meant no reaction. Which, if you have minimal knowledge of gold, will tell you it is in fact gold. Now the 2nd day (yellow), does the acid test then after a minute comes back and says "so this ones plated I unfortunately cant do anything with it." Mind you I know WITHOUT question, it was not. I dont know what this guys deal was. I had another piece of jewelry he was looking at and I just said Ill take it back, seeing as it was silver and not worth much. But he even tried to lowball me on that. I took the rings and left. I am not an aggressive person at all and I would never go crazy in a situation like this. But I will say I felt very close to letting him know that he had very poor customer service and general lack of knowledge in the precious metals category. Alas I dont even have a mean enough bone in me to say anything. But I will not be going back. And I would suggest to others, If you really need money for gold or silver items and this is where your heading, take the 1 mile drive over to excel pawn on Minnetonka Blvd & Texas. They are much less stingy, have more knowledge and overall a better atmosphere. Oh and did I mention. They bought the rings, said they were indeed gold and paid what I was expecting to get. So I think my case speaks for itself. Hope this helps someone out.

Normally, I receive excellent service from Pawn Americas. In this case, I asked to see some Silver coins. I was shown some with prices already marked on the bags. I asked if I could get a deal on all three of the coins in the bag and was told that it would cost me more than the price per coin already marked on the bag. Usually, I would work with the person but I got the feeling that they were out to rip off the customers. I understand how pawn shops work. I know that the store did not pay what the price was marked on the coins. I know they were already marked for a profit for the store. I also know trying to mark up the price already labeled because the spot price was up is called bait and switch. It is illegal and unethical to do what the person tried to do. While I may continue doing business with Pawn America, I will not go to this store again unless the managerial team is removed from Pawn America.

I walked in to sell a few items to get off my hands before I move. There was one person helping someone at the pawn counter and what looked to be a manager speaking with someone who looked like he was a friend of the managers. I made eye contact with both of them and they just kept on talking for 10 min before someone came out and helped me. The lady that helped me told me what she could give me for the first item which was ridiculously low. I said calmly "I think you can do better than that." She just went off on me. I asked her why she was being so rude about it. She said she didnt like being told what she can and cant do. I told her Ill go somewhere else and she was just incredibly rude again and walked away. If this is how they treat their customers I have no idea how they are still in business.

I bought a bluray and to my surprise not only was the movie inside a dvd but it was the wrong movie! Plus i got another disc with a defective audio track. So i brought them in with the receipt and they wouldnt do anything! They came up with every excuse in the book as to why they couldnt take them back. Not even an in-store credit! Minimal staff, very rude behavior, poor selection. Extremely disappointed. Oh and by the way i tried pawning a tablet same thing with excuses. She says i cant see the serial number. Its ON THE BACK. Then says its not at least halfway charged. So i say Ill shop while its charging, so she says cant do that either. Every excuse in the book. That is just plain bad customer service.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND MANAGEMENT!!!! Went in with my little brother because he wanted to get a nintendo ds for his birthday. I purchased a ds and games and also bought a warranty for the ds. After a week or so the ds stopped working. I thought no problem because i purchased a warranty and still had the receipt. I went back with my brother to get a new device. They didnt have anymore so i told them i just wanted the money back. They refused and told me i only could get store credit. My little bro was devastated because all his birthday money was stuck for pawn america. Also through this whole ordeal the workers were very rude and unprofessional. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL!!!!!

James was assisting a friend and I with a pawn, and it was truly an informative and engaging experience- the perfect customer service read on his part. His expertise was evident and the additional information about the process (which we were asking about) was helpful as we considered other items, and his opinion on whether they would be appropriate for pawning as well. James was also fluent in the industry, with the ability to refer certain items that they do not handle, and where we could get the best resale value. We will definitely be back!

Tania, jim and Jeff are amazing and they have above and beyond Customer service skills... these three make the experience well worth it and they remember you by name and that is a commodity in this day and age... thanks to the best Staff I have ever dealt within the pawn america chain of stores... I would give 10 stars if they allowed it... thanks to you guys for all your help and customer service... never once have I had anyone of these 3 be unpleasant in any fashion... thanks!!!

I used to enjoy going to this location. Within the past few months they have changed their employees. I am supremely disappointed with one girl in particular. I dont know her name but she generally opens the store and works as a broker. She treats me like I have no idea what my items are worth, even though i research every item prior to going there. This employee is very smug and makes me feel like a piece of crap for even going there.

Had to change my review after the remodeling. Its brighter and more space. But there arent many deals. Old and dirty tvs that are more expensive than if you bought new. I saw a few iPads there that are same price or $20 less than new at the Apple Store. My wife compared a guitar there with a new at a music store. Guess what! It was more expensive by almost double at PA. By the lack of traffic, I guess people are seeing the same thing.
