The service counter is extremely not professional, and they seem like they just tell you bs to buy the services and parts. (Im a light service automotive manager, with a associates degree in automotive. Ive been in the auto field for about 7 years ) 1- 2011 My 2009 yamaha r6 would not start one day. checked my battery connection and battery voltage. 12.2v and good thought connection. called in to the service and told them what i have found and suggested that my starter is not working... right off the bat i get an attitude and the service guy telling me i am wrong and need a battery for sure... long story short it was the starter covered under warranty. 2- 2012 my bike started misfiring the next year. so i bring it in... they told me i over filled the oil and need spark plugs. I disagreed on the over filling oil part, but if it needs spark plugs then sure. bike was working fine afterwards 3- My last time i will ever get it serviced there.... 2013 ... My R6 started misfiring again. i bring my bike in there service department again. I tell the service writer my concerns, and would like some quotes on some maintenance too. i wouldnt get my bike looked at until a week due to it being summer and busy. I didnt mind because i was going on vacation for a week. ... I told them i dont want any of the maintenance services done until they find out what is causing my bike to misfire, and i emphasized that too them... soo a week goes by, then 4 days after my trip i thought it was odd that they never called me yet so i called them. And yup my bike was being torn apart, waiting on shims for a valve lash adjustment, and a new air filter. i was very displeased with this because i asked if this was why my bike was not running good. The service guy said yes... so i agreed to the services with a coolant flush... $770 was my end quote... 4 more days later i call back to check on my bike. still waiting on parts... 3 days later i get a voice mail my bike is done.. so i go there to pick it up. and the bill was $970!!! I dont know how they can just keep adding parts and repairs with out asking YOU IF ITS OK... Im a little angry about this and asked why the price is higher because i was quoted $770.. the service writer said to me "will the parts are bad, they needed to be replaced, " with an attitude of like why are you auguring... i said money is not an issue, but you guys didnt tell me about needing new spark plugs again in a year...the service guy "will you rode the bike too hard, thats what happens"... i couldnt believe the attitude i was getting. ... the tech that worked on my bike came by and talked a little about the my bike too. saying " the air filter let dirt in my engine causing carbon build up damaging one of my cylinder therefore causing a low compression, and you should just ride it until she stops" ..i asked what if i want it fixed. They both looked at me like i dont know whats really wrong. I then told them i didnt like how i was not informed on anything really being done to my bike and I WAS THE ONE having to call them to find out, so i paid and left. (My opinion for anyone reading this far. They seem like they diagnosis problems with trying new parts.. The service counter is for sure needing improvement in communication to customers too, and an attitude check on some of the service writers too. )

My experience with Hitching Post in Hopkins MN was awful. In every situation that I had with their service department I was left with disappointment and unfulfilled promises. Initially, I ordered 3 parts from their service team to get shipped to my house… Only 1 arrived.. The service department said that they must have forgotten to add the other parts as it was shipped directly from the store in Hopkins. This was the first disappointment. I had tried to fix my bike myself, but was having troubles so I thought I’d bring it in. While dropping it off I mentioned that the other two parts that I ordered weren’t included. They didn’t have them on hand immediately, and said that they would install them on my bike as part of the service while they were inspecting the starting issue. I dropped my bike off on Tuesday, and they said that they would be able to look at my bike on Thursday of the same week, and that I would receive a follow-up call on Thursday. I never received a call. I wait until Friday to call them, and they said they had my carb taken out, and were going to soak it over the weekend. I thought this strange because I had just had my carb rebuilt, and there was no reason it needed to be taken out. I asked how much that would cost and they quoted me $315 to soak one carb.. Not to mention to soak a carb that had brand new parts throughout. After the weekend was over I never received a follow up call like they stated I would. I called back and they said the card had been incorrectly soaked, and needed to be soaked again.. So they said they’d call back the next day. I never received a call so I called and inquired. They said they weren’t able to take a look at it because there was a tech out sick. I was finally fed up with the service I was getting, and called to inquire why I was going to be charged $315 to soak a carb that didn’t need to be soaked. Again they said they would reach out to me after they spoke with their manager about the situation. This time they actually called back! But they had even worse news.. Apparently they had confused the paperwork for my bike with that of another DR350 that they had in the shop… The entire week I thought they were working on my bike, and that I was going to have to pay $315 for something that didn’t have to happen, when in reality they were giving me updates on someone else’s bike.. I decided to go pickup my bike because I didn’t wish to do business with them, or to leave my bike with them any longer. This proved to be the worst service experience that I have ever had. I essentially lost a week of my own time thinking that they were going to fix my bike; time that I could have worked on it myself. When I picked it up all they could say was, “sorry”. That really helps.

I brought my bike into them last year to get new grips put on. They got glue all over my switch housing and they broke one of my blinkers off. They tried to glue it back on. They told me they would replace my switch housing and I agreed with that as I pulled away that turn signal fell off. They tried to tell me I glued it on but you could see that it was fresh glue. They told me they would see what they could do. I didnt get a chance to bring my bike back in before it snowed. In the mean time they got rid of the old shop manager and brought in a new one. He called me during the winter and asked me when I could get my bike in to get the things fixed. I told him that I had super glued the turn signal on an it was doing well and as long as it held I didnt mind. He apologized about the issues from before and I said it was ok I was just happy to see someone take care of the issues. He convinced me to let them bring my bike in on a trailer and fix the problem. After they fixed it they tried to bring my bike back on a Saturday but I wasnt going to be home. They told me they would do it the next weekend. I didnt hear from them for over a month. I figured no problem I am sure it will be fine there. Well last week they finally called and set up a delivery for Saturday morning I said that would be fine. On Saturday morning I get a call from the shop manager stating my carb lines were slightly leaking (I hadnt herd anything about this before) and that they would need to be replaced and would I like to have them do it. I said no as they were trying to charge me over 450 dollars for it and this seemed strange as they never once leaked during the over 4k miles I put on it last year I mean the bike has just over 10k on it. So they just brought me the bike. Today it was over 50 degrees so I figured I would take it to the store really quick and get some gas put in it for the up coming season. I pulled the bike out of the garage and fired it up. I went in to put my gear on and came back out and gas was pouring from the engine. I have been unable to contact them since it is after hours and there is no voice mail but this is not how my bike was when I sent it to them. I even fired it up and let it run for at least 10 min before they took it just so the staybil could work its way back through the system since it was going to be back out into the elements. This feels like they are just trying to make a dollar on me because they had to do free work on something they messed up. I will let everyone know how they handled this issue. I would not recommend using their shop at all as of this moment. Lets hope they rectify this issue
