This is a fish department review, dog owners need not to read. I shop here maybe once a month & I try to avoid this place, but I end up buying filters or fish food there time to time just because its the closest pet store to me. - Stock level of fish is garbage, 1 Star. Theyre are always out of every kind of fish except neon tetras, guppies & Danio Glofish. - Stock level of live plants, 1 Star. If you need a live plant, dont go here. - Guest service, 2 stars. Guest service is garbage if youre shopping for fish, on several occasions after waiting 20 - 30 minutes for help Ive just left without buying anything. In the 6 years Ive been shopping at this location, Ive had 2 really good positive experiences, I think the employees name was Dave or Dan. Havent seen him working there in sometime. The Cashiers at this location are friendly, & Ive never have had to wait to get rung up. - Knowledgeable, 2 stars. Outside of the one employee I mentioned, dont bother asking the employees anything about the fish. They couldnt sex a guppy if you paid them, Im not even joking. - Prices, 2 stars. Once in a great while youll find a great deal on fish, occasionally theyll have a good deal on basic bare bones tanks too, everything else is over priced.

Wow. Where do I start? Number 1, highly unprofessional staff. One of the employees came up to my 10 week old puppy and shoved her face into hers without asking. This could make her sick. Number 2, same employee told me what I was feeding my dog was not good for her. Im sure she isnt a nutritionist or a vet. She didnt recommend anything, only told me I was wrong. Highly disrespectful. 3, another employee came up to my dog and handled her without asking. 4, another employee hounded us in the toy aisle and would not leave us alone, also touching my dog without asking. 5, the manager gave us a fake number when we asked for corporate. Overall it was a very disturbing experience. And on top of it I still made a purchase. I will not be back. The staff should have better manners and they shouldnt disrespect peoples space or the way they are raising their animal. Plus, its bad for the health of my animal and any other animal that comes into the store. Sharon, you should do your job.

Called and asked if they sold feeder mice. They said yes. Got there, saw the mice, but they didnt look like feeder mice. Asked an employee where the feeder mice were. She pointed me back to where I originally looked. I asked if ppl use those as feeder mice or pets. She said most ppl use them as feeders. She said she would Send an associate over to me. Another employee then asked what I wanted one for. I said it was going to be a gift to someone (wanted to save one that would be used as a feeder for Christmas.) They then proceeded to tell me they wont sell me a mouse because they didnt know what the result of me giving one to a friend would be. The lady said my friend would have to come in and sign paperwork cause their animals come first. Wtf you were going to sell me one when you thought I was going to feed it to a snake but not when its future was unknown to you. Stupid. I shouldnt need a reason anyway im a paying customer. Would give them a 0. Never going back.

This is a rating for the grooming department. Dont waste your time. The employees are either incompetent or morons. I called and told them that my cat had mats on her back and would need to be shaved. They scheduled me for an appointment a week later. When I drove the twelve miles to this store (because the location nearest to me said they couldnt help me, but this one could), the employee promptly told me that they could not actually do anything and I would need to see a vet to have my cats mats taken care of. Two people arrived with a cat just before me and the employee told them the same exact thing. Perhaps theyre okay for other services (you know, things the owner could actually do himself if he were so inclined), but they couldnt do this, which I think is a simple grooming matter. Im not upset that they were unable to help; Im upset because I told them exactly what I needed, they said they could help, and then decided they couldnt.

Do not take your pet to the grooming department if you care what happens. I was clear what I wanted for my dog. He is a Maltese mix who was grown out. I wanted him just trimmed by half...leave him fluffy. After 4 hours ( I was told 2 hours) he was so short you could see his skin and it is winter (November). The top of his head was very very short and his ears were left long. He looked terrible and the trim was choppy. They really have no idea what they are doing. When I complained, the basically said it was my fault because last time he was there (April for a summer cut) he was cut short. They refused to acknowledge the instruction I gave to the groomer who really needs much more training. I paid...they offered no discount or apology. This is a terrible store. We just found and kept a tiny kitten with a broken leg so between the dog and the kitten, I have spent about $300 so far this month. I will find a new pet store.

I loved taking my dog here to get groomed. There was one girl that did an amazing job. Well just tried to make an appointment and was told they can no longer groom my dog. Since he is scared when they put him in a cage dryer and bites the bars. They usually put him in a box dryer but now Petco no longer has them. Im sure my dog is not the only one who gets scared during this process. Seems like they will be turning away a lot of loyal customers. Its ridiculous!!!

Called around 6 before going in to get my dogs nails trimmed and was told they do walk ins until 7:45 the groomer was on "lunch" for about 20 minutes when I got there. Was then told a dog license is not proof of a rabies vaccination AFTER I sat around for a half hour. Groomer was extremely rude and unprofessional when she finally returned. Will never be coming back here.

The dog trainer is awsome. My dog is learning so fast with her. Thats about all i like. The prices are 3 times higher here than k9 or vals for food and toys. The trainer at lakeside is snooty and condensing, lakeside is also the worst petco ive been too. If you are looking for dog training n live north the drive would be worth it if you chose warren.

It was OK. We adopted a puppy on a sunday and went to get all the stuff we needed for a puppy. Food, bowls, toys, etc. The lady was very helpful in what we should feed her as her dog is 16 years old. Kinda pricey for some things, like a gate. I just couldnt pay $70 plus for a gate to block my stairs. Found one at meijer for $10.
