If I could rate this place a negative 5 I would. About 2 years we recused 2 (brother and sister) puppy pitbulls and we were looking for a place to get them trained at, we talked to a sales associate for about a good hour and she tried so very hard to sell is a training package we finally caved and said yes. Following her giving us all the prices for everything she asked what kind of dogs we had, so we told her. She looked at us dead in the face and said "sorry we dont train pitbulls" and walked away. THANKS FOR WASTING AN HOUR OF MY TIME. So we havent been back since, until today. We had gotten a kitten over a year ago from a different place, sadly our sweet baby passed away so I was shopping around looking for a new one. The old hags that run the kitten rescue ARE DISGUSTINGLY RUDE FIRST OFF ALL, SECOND OF ALL they wouldnt allow us to buy a kitten because we have pits. CAN YOU SAY DISCRIMINATION OR WHAT?! So let me ask you petco do you not sell things to white people? Or black people? What about Mexican or Asian? Im in awe that this place is still open. I DONT CARE WHAT YOUR REASONING IS FOR YOU CANT NOT GIVE ME KITTEN BECAUSE OF THE BREED I OWN. YOU CAN ONLY JUDGE MY DOGS IF YOU MEET THEM. THE BEST PART OF ALL is that they are so against pitbulls and yet they sell them in the back (humane society section) PLEASE ATTENTION ALL PITBULLS OWNERS PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE AND ATTENTION ALL ANIMAL OWNERS THEY DISCRIMINATE AGAINT ANY BREED THAT COULD BE AFFILIATED WITH "AGRESSIVE" Go to pets supply plus, they are WAY NICER, and they dont discriminate against any breed

Only thing good about this petco is M.H.S. located in back. The staff is nice but the dog trainer is a condescending b. I went to puppy playtime before it even started she (the trainer) harrassed me 3 times about my dogs age. He is 5 months i had the paperwork yet i had to answer to her 3 times his age. She just had something against me or my dog off the bat. Then finally dogs come i have to mention trainer was 10 min late. The people coming must be use to her punctual nature. The first dog entered, my dog barked like hey play with me. Then she scolds me and says i need to train my dog to not be a dog when he is going to play with dogs. Another dog entered while she was putting me and my pup down. Both dogs were 2 times the size of my dog. One grabs a tug rope. My dog puts his 2 front legs on its back and barks and tries to play tug with him. The trainer i think her name was pam says thats it you got to go. Im like are you serious? I drove 40 min 1 way to lakeside so my dog could play in 3 min of playing we were kicked out. He goes to puppy playtime at another petco, just they didnt have it this week, and never had a problem. hes not aggressive, he is a hound and barks. Never growled or bit. Im never shopping at petco again. Also the place looks like an abandoned Kroger from the outside and its nasty and janky.

AWFUL - Customer service is the worst Ive seen. If I could give them less than one star, I would. I have been a customer for 10+ years, with the same dog. Two of their groomers quit, so they had to cancel my appointment. I get it. I rescheduled for the following week on my only day off. I get there and the clerk had put me down for only a shampoo, and the one and only groomer working was booked. Never mind that I have been a customer for 10 years, the managers solution was for me to come back another day. In my opinion they should have made this ok for me. It was not my fault that they screwed up the booking, and the manager should have made this right. They have lost me as a customer forever. I would recommend NOT taking your animal here if being treated fairly and rewarding loyalty is important to you. They are not customer orientated. I will be taking my dog and all future animals to a more local specialized place rather than this impersonal big box store that does not care about their customers.

The MHS in this store is great! We got our wonderful cat from them and love her so much! However I took my 4 year old here one day to handle some Guinea pigs because I wanted to get her one but wanted her to have handle them a bit before buying her one...my daughter waited patiently for the employee to finish with another group...she picked out which one she wanted to hold and was so excited! (This wasnt the first time we had done this so she knew what was going to happen) then the worker told us that my daughter was too little to hold the Guinea pigs and wouldnt be allowed and I told her how it hadnt been an issue before...we ended up leaving with my daughter in tears because the worker refused to let her handle the Guinea pigs! She was just being a lazy B! My husband called and was told that it isnt a problem usually if the parent is there and they arent busy, which they werent AT ALL

Im furious!!! I will never shop or buy an animal at Petco ever again!!!! They do not know enough about the animals that they have. They are living but VERY BAD LIVES. The advice they give to people is way off. You should have years of experience before working at a pet store!!!! Its a living creature that you are just taking in to sell so it can have more of a shit life! Not only that but any Petco I have ever went into always have their Bettas in WAY to small of a bowl. They are suppose to be in at LEAST a 1 gallon tank. Where they come from they swim for miles and like to explore. Not only that but since their so close to each other theyre flared up!!!! THEY ARE STRESSED OUT AND YOU NEED TO FIX THAT!!!! Look at this !!!!!!!!! AND YOU WILL SEE WHERE THEY COME FROM. Please watch this before you but an animal from Petco....... I love Petco I get my supplies for my cats ginea pigs and my Bettas they have great cat food selections and I need that because I have a kittin a middle aged cat and a seionior too also I get care fresh bedding for my guinea pigs at a very cheap price also there Betts fish are very healthy and I got one today he was very healthy well fed and zero fin rot also I love there 1 filler per gallon sale its amazing

I got my pet there. The woman who apparently took care of it didnt actually know a thing about reptiles except what was on the print out. Im not sure what she did foe the iguana but it very clearly hated her and no one could even tell us if its male or female. However its usually clean and not too busy when we go buy things we need they just need people knowledgeable about the animals they sell.
