Under original ownership, Bradley is a wonderful, caring and knowledgeable shopkeeper. My 14 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes in September 2011. She was seen by Dr. Cutno (not sure if Ive spelled her name right), at Banfield Pet Hospital at the Pet Smart in Lexington, who prescribed 2 units of Insulin twice daily and Hills Science Diet W/D. After a week of following this plan, my cats blood sugar was still in the 4-500 range.When I, a registered nurse, questioned the vets plan and stated I wanted to put my cat on a raw diet as I had read lots of promising information on the internet, I was told by this vet that instituting a raw diet was against her medical advice and she would not support me in this effort. Needless to say, I was shocked, disappointed and very concerned that I did not have a vet who was willing to "think outside the box" when traditional efforts failed. Being a nurse, I know that "adult onset" diabetes, in two and four legged mammals, can be controlled by diet. Floundering, I did put my cat on a raw diet, based on the internet research I had done, and managed to wean my cat completely off insulin within a month. Making a raw diet at home is not easy, and a lot goes into the preparation above and beyond just putting raw beef in a bowl. Searching for a nutritionally balanced diet, I sought out pet stores that offer these types of commercially prepared foods and found Bradleys store. I had been a customer of Lazy Creek before, but only for toys and such. When I approached Bradley with the story noted above, he was so kind, patiently listened to my concerns and educated me on the different prepared raw diets available. I am SO IMPRESSED and folks, it is not easy for me to be impressed. I have been in the store numerous times now, trying different types of the Natures Variety food line and my cat is doing great. Bradley answers my questions, is attentive to my cats needs, and what he doesnt know, he takes the time to find out! He has called his vendors right in front of me to get products into his store that may be beneficial to my cat. I dont know how many other customers Lazy Creek has with diabetic pets, but the fact that Bradley would stock products just for my cats well being blows me away. In short, I highly recommend Lazy Creek Pet Store for the dedication to pet care, and to me.

There are not enough stars in the universe to give to Lazy Creek. I brought my dog in to look at some dog food and the owner, Michael was so informative and full of facts about what she needed to be eating. Instead of pressuring me to purchase food, he sent me home with tons of samples so I could try them out and see what she liked best. On top of that, I scheduled a grooming appointment. I said Id need to drop her off on the way to work around 8 am. It wasnt until I got home that evening that I looked it up and saw they didnt even open until 9:30. They didnt even mention that because they wanted to work around MY schedule. You cannot beat the knowledge and customer service of this store. If you love your animal and want the best care for them, give Lazy Creek a visit. They are truly amazing.

Ive been taking my dog here to be groomed for a couple of years now and they are far better than the other places around here that Ive been. They do a great job and seem to show the animals great care. When shopping in the store section of the building, the employees are friendly and seem to be very knowledgeable about everything they have. More than once an employee has gone out of their way to help me out when they didnt really have to.

I was just in Lazy Creek and the original owner has taken back over, his name is Bradley. The store has a huge selection of anything that you may be looking for. It is clean, full of merchandise and the staff is extremely helpful!!! Great place to go, you can tell they really do care about your animals and are very knowledgeable about the products they sell. On top of all of that, they have a great groomer also!!!

I thought they had a nice selection compared to other stores, I was however disturbed at how they had baby reptiles living on desert sand. NOT GOOD!
