I put a layaway in on 7/17/15.After the intial $40 deposit The total was $2071.52 . The original delivery date was set for 10/11/15. I called and cancelled the delivery on the morning of 10/11/15 ,but I went into the store and I made a payment of $1,000. My new Balance was $1,071.52. On Thursday 5/19/16 I called to find out my balance and set up a new delivery date. I was told my items had been delivered on 12/16/15 . Furious, I asked where the items had been delivered. The associate then says ,"Oh ,I see you took the money off the bedroom, living room and dinette and put it on 2 mattresses and you picked them up 12/16/15 . I said sir, youve obviously given my things to the wrong person, how did you allow someone to make account changes AND "pick it up" without them showing proper identification? He nonchalantly told me to come in the next day and the Store manager Damon Blount would be able to show me the tape,and the signature abd resolve the issue. I asked for the regional managers number,proceeded to call him and left a message giving a full run down. On Friday May 20th ,2016 I arrived at the American Freight, Warren store and spoke with a very lackadaisical Damon Blount. He showed me the customer pickup log, and I adamantly explained that that wasnt my signature. I asked about checking i.d of the person who claimed to be me. He brushed me off and said Id have to take everything up with the regional manager. He then implied that I must have given someone my information, because "they knew the exact layaway amount,and the remaining balance" . I was floored,and said the only people who had that information are the store employees. I went to my car to call Doug Troop,regional manager. He also was no help at all. He said the tapes dont go back to December, he cant do anything for me,he cant prove that I did or didnt receive the two mattresses. I told him I believe this is fraud ,also that its an inside job . He very nonchalantly told me to call the police,there was nothing else he could do. Im beyond pissed. Further action will be taken.

I purchased a sectional with the added 10year warranty that was said to cover EVERYTHING (I even double checked to make sure rips and whatnot from pets would be covered- and was told it would be) from there a few years back. I was on a tight budget and they set it up to where I could pick up my new couch in the state I was moving to, which was great. The couch is comfortable, my only real issue with the purchase is the Warranty-- its damn near impossible to get ahold of someone at the number they give you... I have left SEVERAL messages over the past few months and have yet to even get a phone call back... Meanwhile I have a piece of of metal coming through the couch and ripping one of my cushions and a few other issues that need repair or whatever the warranty was supposed to do. Bottom line... The couch was is great if youre just trying to get something to hold you over until you can afford a nicer set... But dont bother wasting your money on a warranty that you cant even talk to someone about- let alone get your product taken care of.

Bad experience. Multiple things went wrong. 1st the item I order via walk in was out of stock. (OK no problem, I still take it) it took 14 days for a new shipment to arrive at the store, (2)at first I was told Id receive my delivery on the 15. I received it on the next day, (3)the delivery drivers were to be paid $50 at time of delivery. I had $60 and asked if change was available? He replied with a yes. I gave the driver $60 . They unloaded the truck and proceeded to leave I reminded him of my $10 change and he replied the extra was for the drive... Why wasnt I told that when I asked for change? (4) they do not assemble. (5) the headboard that was delivered was a full I ordered a twin. So now I cant assemble my daughters bed, because the twin sized footboard is too small to align with the full size headboard.

I heard about American Freight in Warren through my Ex boyfriend. I went there and saw some nice furniture. I place dinette set in layaway. And was paying on in periodically but I also behind two payments but furthermore I kept in contact. I finally decide to go pick it up. Thinking same delivery thinking same day leave with furniture. Not!!!! Was told I would have furniture that day at five did not get it. Got the run around!!! Gotta call at 8:00 furniture would be delivered on Monday. Not!!!! I called and called I was fed some BS again. Tuesday came around after I had to fuss and everything else it was delivered but from Livonia. Really???? I had my truck could have already had. Was been told they couldnt find it in stock. That is sad;bad;ridiculous and waste of my time and day. Will I go back there??? No!!!!!!!!

The worst experience I could even imagine with furniture shopping! I purchased a living room and dining room set through this company. I didnt even use their delivery service so I figured it would all be fine. On the day I went to pick up my furniture I called beforehand and was told everything is ready to go and come anytime. I get there and was told the dining set Ive already paid for has been discontinued for months and they wouldnt be receiving anymore ever but I could choose something else. Also was told the living room set was in the back of the warehouse and they were unable to get to my furniture. Then was also told the loveseat I purchased was out of stock and I would have to settle for a POS chair or take the floor model. HORRIFIC place. Cheap prices...yes, but definitely NOT worth your time!

I PAID CASH FOR MY FURNITURE THE EARLY PART OF THE WEEK, AND THEY PROMISED TO DELIVERY MY FURNITURE FIRST THING THAT WEEKEND. I RECEIVED A CALL FORM THEIR CONTRACTED DELIVERY SERVICE ASKING ME IF THEY COULD DELIVERY AFTER 9:30PM. I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT THIS WAS A JOKE! I CALLED THE SALESMAN JOEL THAT ASSISTED ME AND HE SAID THEY TOLD HIM I HAD CANCELED MY DELIVERY FROM THE DELIVERY CONTRACTOR. WHY WOULD I DO THAT, WHEN I PAID YOU PEOPLE CLOSE TO $2,000 FOR MY FURNITURE. THEY NEVER OFFERED ANY COMPENSATION OR ANYTHING FOR THIS MISHAPS. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO AMERICAN FREIGHT COMPANY FOR ANYTHING ELSE. NOW I SEE WHY CONSUMERS GO TO ART VAN AND GARDNER WHITE - FOR QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER CARE TO THE CONSUMERS. I HAD TO GIVE THEM A RATING OF ONE, IN ORDER FOR ME TO POST THIS COMPLAINT.

My husband and I just bought a mattress set from the Warren and Dequinder area. Received the worst customer service. The specials they were advertising for wasnt the same when we got there. So we ended up paying more. Same day delivery... Bullshit! We waited all day Saturday and they even told us they were coming. Sunday, still waiting for bed. First guy told us that delivery would be $50 for same day which we didnt receive and it states on our paperwork $50. So still have to pay that even a day late. Secons group of guys says $60 for delivery ans the third group says $70 for delivery and that the first 2 groups of guys cant give us a price because they are contracted through them. Ok! WTF kind of business are you running. Very rude and this will be the First and last time going through them.
