I used to shop here on occasion until I was treated very rudely and unprofessionally by a clerk/on-duty manager. Had some groceries and a six pack of beer. As is the norm in a big chain, I was asked for my ID. No biggie. She looks at it, hands it back, and then comes back in a minute to look again. I had inadvertently let my driver license expire (by about a week). Apparently, they wouldnt sell, even though the license is clearly mine and Im almost 40 years old. Even if it is policy, the way it was handled was rude and impersonal. I let her know I wouldnt be shopping there again. I give this place 3 stars for their Michigan beer selection and overall cleanliness. Even though its on the outskirts of Traverse City, people around here should be friendlier in these situations.

If it would let me give this store zero stars I would have. The aisles are way too narrow. If you are at all claustrophobic, do not go there. Its made even worse by the displays they put at the entrance/exit to the aisle. We are talking barely one lane traffic here. It was so over crowded when I went I got two things and left. The lines were ridiculous and it still took me 20 minutes to check out with two items at the self checkout. I will literally have nightmares about this store. They should have a warning sign out front.

When it comes to smaller grocery stores I usually steer clear. I find they usually have subpar products this is NOT the case with Family Fare. While they dont have the selection of a larger store, their products are always top notch, and their prices are incredibly competitive. I always chose them, over the larger competitors, if I know they have what I need.

I love this store but they need better bike racks and place them near the door. The rack they have ruins wheels and is currently in a dangerous place. You have to cross the busy driveway and go onto the grass.

It is a nice neighborhood grocery store. It has character. Unfortunately someone waxed the ceramic tile floor and all the traffic areas look like crap because wax isnt mentioned for that type of floor.
