I am a certified Mac tech that happened to work on a Macbook Pro after PC Guru Computers had worked on it for a customer. Customer originally had a bad hard drive. Brought the machine to me saying it went to them, they pulled the hard drive, then diagnosed it the computer as fried, and then tried selling the customer another computer. Upon taking the machine apart, noticed top case was not fit down and many screws in wrong holes. Then noticed broken tabs and screw mounts on top case due to probable forced removal. Also noticed top case ribbon cable was unplugged from logic board. Upon plugging in top case ribbon cable machine would power on but not pass POST. Upon reseating RAM, computer functioned perfectly fine besides needing a new HD. Installed new HD, reassembled correctly and computer is back in working condition. Top case is still very slightly gaped due to broken screw mount and broken fastening tab, but display still stays down and latches 50% of the time. I wouldnt even bother giving this hack one star for the fact that how can you bring a machine in that powers on fine but wont boot, and get back a machine that looks like a 6 year old put it together and wont power on. Then try to sell the customer a refurbished machine with the customer thinking their machine is fried? The girl is actually very fortunate that they did not damage the machine beyond repair. The girl is disappointed in their work as well but is too naive to know the extent of their fraudulence. But at least she was not naive enough to be conned into buying a refurbished machine from them and was wise enough to get a second opinion.

DO NOT SHOP AT THE PC GURU! I purchased a defective computer with a pirated version of windows from Jason at the PC Guru store in Brownstown, MI on Telegraph rd at Sibley. Jason is the said owner of PC Guru. My very first encounter with Jason was him repairing my laptop computer. Upon repairing my computer Jason advised me that he could give me a better computer that my 64bit Compaq Presario. After I was lured into buying the computer from the PC Guru I found that it was defective and it wasnt even a 64bit model like Jason promised. jason afterwards explained, "..hed never sale me anything defective he uses amazon & ebay for that..." After getting the computer home Ifound that my version of windows was pirated so Ihad to return to the PC Guru. After I thought the problem was fixed my computer started to shut dowb with out notice and sometimes it would crash and goto a blue screen. I called Jason and he started yelling and swearing obscenities at me. I recorded the entire conversation and and I saved the text messages he sent me.Ubuntu

I have to say it could of been worse, but lying to me wasnt the best idea. He said that my computer would cost too much to be fixed as well as he couldnt get the part. He kept my labtop to recycle. I wanted to get another computer, but it took some time to get together the money. I stopped in there to see what they had and my labtop was for sale!!! I couldnt believe it!! Yes for $550 dollars I could buy my computer back, I guess after a few months he didnt think he would see me again. I understand that I left it there to recycle, but it was the most expensive labtop you had for sale!!! I doubt it cost you $550 dollars to fix. Thanks for lying to me, you wont get any business from anyone I know that is for sure. Honesty is the best policy, if not sometimes it can bite you in the butt!

Brought my desktop PC in to be repaired. Essentially my issues boiled down to not being able to start up my operating system and my machine not recognizing a boot device. 2 weeks from the date I came in and about 3 calls to them later they had said my computers main components were "Fried". I couldnt believe it so I had to get a second opinion and went to their competitor where they found that nothing had "fried" but that my SSD had just faulted out. They couldnt figure this out and its either because they arent all on the same page or because they were full up with work that they couldnt really sit down to look at my PC. Anyway, I wouldnt suggest going here. I had to call them to get any information on my computer and waited far too long to hear inaccurate information.

Stay far away from this crazy nut case man. He called cps on us after he messed up our laptop. You can tell he is crazy by hes replies on here. HE WAS YELLING AND SCREAMING IN THE PHONE AFTER WE WANTED OUR COMPUTER BACK. WE PAID HIM 140 TO CLEAN up our computer and we could not do anything to it took it back and he told us we needed another one. We took it to another shop and found out he owned it his partner fix it and Jason charged us another 140 to fix the problem he messed up. Then he called cps and do them we left out 3 boys in a hot car. No dumb Jason it was 2 girls and one of them was grown with the key in the car. The state is charging him with making a false report the cps lady was so mad at him. He is crazy as hell

lies lies lies. Jason is a total shmuck. Over priced stuff "newegg plus 20$" is what he says. But actualy newegg prices plus 200% markup. I will not go there for anything, nor will I tell anyone I know ar meet on the street to go there. Also while I was there I watched him lie to a customer that walked in about their laptop being too old to repair. was a Compaq Presario cq62. only a few years old. Didnt stay to watch him rip the guy off. Pretty sure it will be up for sale there in a few days. Its people like Jason that make it hard for the good hard working computer shop owners out there.

I thought it was time and I was prepared to buy a new computer. My brother talked me into first going to Jason at PC Guru, "just to hear what he has to say." I was impressed with his immediate and professional attention to my problem and his advice. He was honest with me and very helpful in explaining what he was doing in terms I could understand. Instead of $600-800 for a new one, it cost me $100 and I have a great working pc that is 6 yrs. old. When its time to buy a new one I plan to buy from Jason at PC Guru.
