Startec was recommended by a friend. Windows 10 just vanished from my computer and I was having difficulty with Gmail. I called and set up an appointment with Leo the next day. What an eye opening experience. Leo was absolutely a pleasure to deal with at Startec. I am computer challenged and Leo was very patient and explained Windows to me and answered all my questions. Leo had me leave my computer and told me I could pick the computer up the next morning. My computer was ready when promised and Leo had found two viruses that Webroot didnt pick up. Leo explained everything he did to fix the computer and gave me good suggestions when using my computer to protect it from having problems. I actually went back the next week to ask Leo some other questions and he willingly answered everything at no charge. Not only was Startec $120.00 less than what I was quoted by the Geek Squad but Leo had it back in much less time than what the Geek Squad quoted me. I am 100% satisfied with my experience at Startec and would certainly go back there without hesitation. Great job.

I went in with my older HP computer, and the owner kept yelling at me that it was garbage. Told me it was too old to fix, and I wound up buying a used compaq from him. It was old and slow but I took his word for it. Less than a week later, the windows xp and the "free" Microsoft office that was installed both came up as pirated. The best part is when I took it back and the same crazy Chinese guy tells me this computer is garbage and I shouldnt fix it because he has great used ones. I wish I had a camera when I told him I had just bought the computer there a week ago. You couldnt hear anything over the back pedaling and him screaming at the poor guys in the back that this was all their fault.

I highly recommend Startec Computers of Sterling Heights, Mi as a very reliable place to bring your computer in for computer repair. I brought my computer in because it wouldnt even start up. My technician Leo made the necessary repairs in record time and was able to recover all of my information that I thought that I had lost for good. The price I paid was very reasonable and Leo even helped me out with some other things on my computer when I called in to talk to him. This is a very reputable store and I am so happy that I brought my computer there. I am a yoga teacher and I thought that I had lost all of my music. Thanks again Leo! You are Outstanding!

I cannot say enough good things about Leo. He is very professional and has no problem going way beyond to help his customers. He built a new computer for me with everything I wanted. It only took him a few days to get it all up and running. He took extra care to make sure I had everything I needed from my old computer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO STARTEC! I am a graduate student who knows little about computers but my computer is my life. I took my computer in for a tune up, to get vista removed and windows 7 put on, and to have the fan replaced. They said it would take a few days....8 days later (and a false call that it was ready) after calling multiple times I picked it up. When I got home my backed up computer had things missing, in the wrong folders, etc. I was way overcharged for them to completely screw up my computer. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

I have been dealing with startec for over 10 years now. Never once an issue. The owner is courteous and knows his way around everything in his shop, sometimes a little rushed but always on point. You might be confused over his broken English, but there are plenty of workers in the shop that you can understand just fine. I have built and repaired over 100+ systems with Startecs hardware. Always fair market value for what you purchase, either new or used. This place deserves my 5 stars, if I could, I would give them 10.

I am a 21 year old college student who has unfortunately been deprived of his laptop for nearly 3 months. The power supply went out on my laptop along with some minor problems with my screen. This was in mid October and it is now mid January. In this time they were able to fix my power supply and screen but also managed to fry my motherboard and now they say my mouse wont work. Im sure this is not everyones experience, but based on my experience, if you wish to have an HP laptop worked on go somewhere else.

I have had good experience with Startec. Im a computer software professional and I used to be good at hardware. These guys are making an honest buck, and they are capable. People who complain about them generally dont understand what they are up against in repairing such a broad range of equipment. And sometimes, admittedly, they get backed up. I also understand they make mistakes. So do I. I regard them as honest and, having dealt with them for about ten years, I have no reason to believe otherwise.

I was looking for a local shop to take my laptop to avoid the big box store. Leo was great with taking my laptop on and letting me know what the problem was with it before any major work was done. He was very fast with getting my laptop back to me and in great working order. This is some of the best customer service that I have had and more than I expected and if I ever have any problems with my computer I am coming back.

One of the best! I does look a mess, and he always seems rushed, but he knows his stuff. His assistants are better with the customer service end, but when it comes time to fix, its he and his brother get it done. They have always treated me fair and made sure my rig was running top notch. You want it done right without the sales fluff, come here.

I am an IT professional, albeit on the software side of the industry, but when it comes to having my personal machines and those of my clients built or repaired, I wont go anywhere else. Its not glitzy, but it always gets done right and for the right price.
