Terrible and dishonest customer service in the firearms department in Novi, Michigan. I visited the store to trade in a Remington rifle that my father had willed to me. I dont hunt, so I was interested in trading for a hand gun. I had to wait over an hour to talk with "Chuck". He took quite a bit of time in assessing the value of my gun...and finally gave me a trade in value of $400. Not knowing much about the rifle, I told him that I wanted to think about it, but would return in a day. I went back to the store a day later...but Chuck wasnt working. Again...I had to wait over an hour only to be told by a different sales person that he would only give me $230...but, if I wanted to come back 3 hours later Chuck would be working. I went to the Customer Service desk and asked to talk with the store manager. As I was talking with the person who claimed to be store manager...a completely different firearms salesman happened by and told me that theres no way that the rifle was worth $400...and that any quotes on firearms are only good on the day given. He said that he would increase the offer to $250...but no more. Im appalled at how unethical these people were...and how confrontational they were. Its obvious to me that none of these people have ever been trained in customer service! I work in sales and would never dream of handling a situation this poorly. Shame on the management at this location! Im going to buy my next firearm at Dicks Sporting goods in Novi...they treat customers with dignity, honesty and professionalism. BTW...the "salesman" that gave me the lowball offer, first had to go outside the front of the store to smoke a cigarette while customers, like me, were waiting.

I recently went to Gander Mountain to buy a shot gun. Showed up at 8:40 (store closes at 9:00) on Thursday night to buy a the gun. Store clerk told me the the gun counter was closed because it was to late to start the paperwork and do the background check. Not more than 5 minutes later, the store manager offered to open the register (dont think it was really closed) and sell me the gun if I agreed to apply for a Gander Mountain Credit Card. Of course I refused. Gander Mountain should NOT prioritize selling credit applications over merchandise. So Like and idiot I went back Sunday morning to by the gun. Completed all the paperwork, did the background check, and closed the sale with a credit card purchase (all signed). Part of their paper work was having to sign TWO copies of a form stating that I was not interested in their warranty, which I did. Now the second part... pushing the in store warranty. As part of their internal process (and pressure sales), they require the manager on duty to review all of the paperwork (after the purchase was made). He comes over and pressures the sale of the warranty state "I have to acknowledge to him verbally that I dont want the warranty". Nope Im not going to do that because I already told the sales clerk and signed two copies of a form (that he reviewed) that said I was not interested. He than tells me that he cannot sell me the gun unless I acknowledge to him about the warranty... gun was already sold and money received... of course one of their forms is that you cant return a gun. Totally ruined my excitement for buying a new gun!

I went into the store with my husband to purchase my first carry gun. This is a Christmas present from my husband so he had one all picked out for me and had called to make sure it was in stock before we got there. We were waited on by Mark Boyak. My husband started asking questions and once Mark found out the purchase was for me he began listening to my requests, very helpful to me. My husbands choice felt very good in my hand but Mark seemed to be wanting to add something so I asked if he had any other recommendations or suggestions. I have small hands and was concerned about the best fit. Mark brought over his suggestion and it felt great holding it plus the trigger was much smother and he explained why the recoil would be less with this gun. I made my purchase and Mark was very clear on going over all the paper work on the gun as well as everything else that had to be filled out. I would recommend Mark for anyone looking for any type of gun as he is very knowledgeable, polite any very eager to share any information he may know. The only negative thing about my visit was the wait to be waited on which is no ones fault just my luck, but they have a number system and it did work very good. We purchased a Ruger LCR 38.

I visited the location in Novi, MI. I was pleased to have an associate that was very polite, and knowledgeable about the firearm I was interested in purchasing. Carl Park was a friendly person and answered all my questions and gave lots of example and was very detailed with his answers. Carl went back and forth between the different Firearms and additional items I needed for the AR Rifle I purchased. I was extremely satisfied with his understanding of my needs and his knowledge about the product. Carl priced matched my purchase which i appreciate it that as well. the entire time my wife and I spend in the store at the firearm department we felt very pleased to being there the staff was very friendly. Carl assisted me with picking ammunition, 2nd magazine for the ammunition a bag for storing my rifle and the cleaning product and a Scope. Im a hunter and i have experience with guns and rifle i do a lot of research before purchasing. I was very satisfied with the performance of Carl. My wife was convinced that we would definitely purchase her hand gun form him as well. I would highly recommend Carl to all my friends and co workers because I know they are in the market for purchasing fire arms.

This store sucks!!! Every time I go in and need help at the gun or bow counter it takes forever just to talk to someone. HELLO!!! Its hunting season!!! Hire some damn people!!! I walked in and a guy tags my bow. The guy at the gun counter sees the bow in my hand and says take a number there is only two of us back here and one guy is in the range. (if you need numbers in the first place you suck already) I grab a number and wait a half hour. The guy calls my number and I tell him I need a kisser button put in my bow. A super easy thing to do in a bow vise, But he says the bow tech is not in and he cant do it until tomorrow. He said I would have to leave my bow there so he could do it tomorrow, and this is the same guy that check me in so why didnt he tell me this then!! How can he put it on when Im not there to draw the bow for measurement?? He doesnt ask what kind I need. I will never buy another thing from this store....ever!! Its a waste of your time. Its just a matter of time when Basspro or Cabelas puts a store in the area and this place will be out of business. This is one of many similar incidents at this store...horrible customer service!!!
