I went on a kayak symposium with these folks last weekend. It was awesome. In a few hours, I learned some basic paddling skills, emergency moves and general terminology. They provided all of the gear (and lunch) for an obscenely low price. My wife went in, with her camera, which was not tethered, and sank to the bottom (thankfully, it was waterproof). After demonstrating a rescue (how convenient!),Sandy Graham submerged, only to come up with Lynns camera (never leaving his kayak). There is no way I could ever consider another outfitter. All of these folks are magnificent. And, after spending a day with them, I dont think they would ever try to sell me something I dont need, but, would convince me to buy what I dont know that I need.

Awesome store with a great staff. I mentioned I was going to Portland towards the end of the year and one of the staff members was happy to give me recommendations, he even sent me an interactive pdf from his trip a few years back. They also helped me track down some cool handmade fairs in the Detroit Metro area. Prices are a little on the high side for certain items, but with that you get a great staff, and are supporting a small business.

Walk in here with my brother and staff did not greet us. We walked through the store and still no one offered to help. All employees were on their phone. Would not return.
