Can I give a negative star review?? From NOW on we will be Gander Mountain and Dicks customers only. We came to pick up some camping equipment and when the cast iron griddle marked on the shelf as $14.99 rang up for $39.99 they did NOT honor the shelf price. I even walked back to show the store employee where I had picked it up and he said "those are in the wrong place". When I returned to the cashier she said "the manager said that the best he can do is $25". Nope---it wasnt my mistake putting the items (2 on the shelf, I only took one) in the wrong place. And you can keep all of our other intended purchases also. ✌

Purchased a stoger m3500 for my son s Christmas present before we go to Arkansas on a duck hunting trip. The trigger guard was left in from the store and the box of chokes that came with it had a 20 Gauge mod. Instead of the 12 Gauge. Called the store and asked if they could swap it out with one of the 12 gauges they still have , thier reply was " you just need to call the manufacturer " I suppose it is just thier policy with all gun sales are final. Thanks for all the help to the guys behind the counter with your excellent customer service. Sincerely Charles Jernigan.

Went to get football cleets, saw some regular 24.99 on sale 12.73 now the sale sign didnt state "only the green ones" ..it said Nike blah blah blah..and we purchased the Nike blah blah blah...how ever they were not "green"are you serious???if we didnt need them for Monday, we would of left without any...kinda p.o. d and will think twice about driving the distance from Covington to Athens to get played.

I had a terrible experience at this location today. I was shopping for Guns and the sales associate was nice to talk to me about other things besides my gun purchase. I was going to spoil myself and purchase a new gun and not once did I get a suggestion or shown anything. I will not be going here again to purchase a gun.

Great. Sales associate was Kayla Daniel. She was so helpful and very friendly. I didnt feel rushed or pressured. She was so very sweet. We felt like we had known her all of her life. She is a one of a kind and Academy Sports is very much lucky to have her on their team.

I was in this past Sunday 6/11/17 buying a grill. Unfortunately the grill was bigger than my car could handle. An employee named Evan was more than accommodating and went out of his way to see if there were other options. He was very polite and should be commended.

This is seriously one of my favorite stores in town. I go here and always find amazing deals on outdoor items and sporting equipment. This store even compete with amazon prices which is a win over for me :) I go there often for running apparel, and camping gear.

Dont shop here if you enjoy vaping. They have a sign outside that says no smoking or vaping inside. Also employees are generally very helpful but sometimes hard to find. Prices are a little high for the quality of their products.
