Today, August 25, 2015 was a sad day for our family. We had to make the decision to relinquish back our Russian Tortoises to Petco due to our schedules of not being able to take care of them properly. I made several phone calls ahead of time making sure this transition was smooth. When we purchased these tortoises, we were told by a manager that if in the event we could not longer keep them, Petco would adopt them back from us and find a home. I spoke with Trish today and she made all the arrangements for us to return the tortoises. She informed me to ask for either herself or Kevin. When I entered the store, an employee by the name of Chelsea was the only person available. She was running the front taking care of customers. She tried contacting Kevin or Trish and neither one responded to her. I started to walk thru the store the help find one of them to help this poor employee out who was running the store all by herself. I spotted a man fixing some shelves in the store. I approach him and ask if he is Kevin. His response back to me was not, "Yes, Im Kevin how can I help you?" - He replies by saying, "What do you need?" I knew this was Kevin from his name tag. He says to me, "Give me a minute I need to finish this" - Finish shelves when you have a customer returning tortoises. Obviously he didnt want to be bothered. Unbeknownst to me, he was communicating with Chelsea up front. He had nothing to say to me, the customer - Chelsea was so kind and very helpful. She continued helping me all the while having customers at her register waiting to check out. My husband and I carry the tortoises in the store in their habitat we purchased for them. Chelsea guided us to a room in the back. We place the tortoises along with all the supplies we donated as well on a shelf along with other animals in there. The room stunk horribly - We asked, "What about their lighting?" and no answer. These tortoises need their lighting, As I say goodbye to these precious reptiles, my husband and I leave the room to have Kevin enter without saying one word to us. I want to say thank you to Chelsea for her work ethics and helping us out. Kevin needs to learn from her. If he is manager or GM, shame on him. I walk away upset about our experience with Kevin or the lack thereof but most importantly concerned that our reptiles will not be taken care of like we did. I will be checking back with the store, unannounced to see what or where our tortoises are. I am contacting the store after posting the review and telling Chelsea to tell her boss Kevin to read to this review and perhaps learn from it. I buy all my pet supplies for our dog from this Petco but am very unhappy and very disturbed about the way we were treated and have major concerns for our tortoises. Also want to say thank you to acting manager last week, Jerry for all his help and concern.

Well this is yet ANOTHER over charge at Petco.....I purchased 10 cans of dog food that was on clearance and was charged for 11 cans...I did tell them that the cans were on clearance and pointed at the sticker...because I have had them charge me regular price before for clearance products.....and when I went back to get the correct price and money back they quickly told me that I HAVE to tell them that it is on clearance.....I guess the big bright ticket isnt enough of a signal....so now I am sure I will be told to tell them "how many cans " I am buying.....maybe they should have "self check-out stations" at Petco....SLOW down people try to give GOOD customer service instead of "how people you can push out the door".......hurry ...hurry... hurry...NOT SO MUCH.

The store is self looks nice. I am quite disappointed, however. I was interested in some saltwater fish, however, most of them were sick and/or injured, and neither the associate nor the manager that I spoke with had any clue about it, and more alarmingly, had no plans to rectify the situation or treat the environment. It was also strange as the representatives that I spoke with didnt even try to make the situation better for me, as a customer, either. It seems like its common practice to shrug off concerns and then walk away. It doesnt seem to me like pets come first at this petco, unfortunately.

Dont shope here!! I stopped at this store twice, and never will again.Once was to help a friend find a collar,and once to purchase lizard food..which I didn;t end up purchasing because I had seen the way the animals were taken care of-very poorly(so sad) and it smelled horrible like the cages hadnt been cleaned(which was visible) in some time.Animal abuse!The staff were rude and not helpful at all.please dont waste your time or money here.

Great deals and products. Jerry is fantastic and always helpful with a smile. Cashier Ashley, not so much, each time we get her as cashier, I always want to ask her if she hates her job, because her short, bothered answers, and horrible customer relations, dont forget her eye rolls and body language. Thankfully Jerry and the rest of the staff is amazing!

The fish where kept in ok conditions, but some of the species that arent compatible where kept together. Also, they where out of stock of most things. DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF, AS THEY DO NOT KNOW A THING ABOUT FISH.
