This is an excellent place to get specific foods for Chinese (beijingese, hunan, & szechuan), Taiwanese, and Filipino diets. Produce has always been fresh and very well priced! Meats are in a number of cuts and varied tripes are always on hand. Store is well organized if you are familiar with these foods and culture, but if youre an average American you might find it difficult to find what you need. If youre following a recipe that you got on the Internet, write down the name of the stuff that you need in its respective native language and girls will be happy to help you find it; dont expect to use American English names for much more than Shanghai bok choy, Taiwan cabbage, or white rice. What we native English speakers call produce and meats is subjective, and our expressions dont translate well. Dont ask for General Tsos or white sauce, they dont cater to American food - just food thats common in their own nation and culture. Also note that some of the higher-end cooking stuff, like ricer cookers, are correctly priced at 150.00 - its not a mistake. Excellent rice is made under heavy pressure, not just simply boiled in $20.00 Wal-Mart Teflon coated rice cooker. When ever Im in town, I fill up the car with as much food as my trunk will allow. I cannot over state the both the quality and quantity of food stuffs for making authentic meals.

Of the handful of times Ive been here, Ive always had difficulties. The food is overpriced and refunds are almost impossible. When attempting to buy milk, make sure you choose from the far back-- they sell expired milk. If you attempt to return the expired milk, even without opening it and showing a receipt from that day, they utterly refuse. I had three employees say (essentially) "thats your own fault, refunds arent possible" and after finally getting a manager (prob. 2 hours later), she had absolutely no idea how to provide cash back. She didnt understand the concept of using cash and kept insisting the payment was refunded to my credit card (even though I paid cash) and I even showed her on the receipt it said cash.

The customer service is good, can find many things to buy. My only problem is that you use to sell good anchovies. Today I pass to buy my usual delicious anchovies only to see that they have change the flavors. I dont mean to be mean but the hot and mild flavors you have now, taste terrible for me. I bought five and dont know what to do with them. Especially, the hot one it not only expensive as 6 bulks for a little pack, the mixture of sugar and salt and not even hot as written on top of the pack. I might have to throw them away. I bought 2 of that expensive kind. I want the anchovies you had before all these flavors. These is not good

At first I enjoyed shopping there - a lot of import food from different Asian countries. They also sell fresh produce including some Asian vegetable we cannot find at Kroger and Meijer. Unfortunately, I cannot trust this store any more because they do not mind selling expired food. After I saw many expired products, I decided to have a closer look on their products, and I saw many products sold without listing expiration date. Make sure that you check the expiration date before you purchase.

I went in with a list of ingredients I had no idea what they were or where to find them. I asked the owner and she took the list and showed me around the store and showed me all the options I had. The place was packed and everyone was asking for her help. She took her time to show me everything with no rush. The produce was fresh, the noodles were awesome. The fish were swimming in the tank, so I am not sure how much fresher you want it. I love this place.

This place is terrible. The cashiers dont even give a smile, say hi, or thank you. When I went this afternoon the cashier was a women in her 40s, short(like 5 ft), probably Cantonese, she had a bad attitude. When we went up to the register she didnt give us a smile. She glared at us when we were looking at the price if she did it wrong. Note that she also didnt say hi. She did say thank you but barely hearable. I am so happy I can give this place 0 stars for all.

While this store offers a wide variety in asian groceries, beware of (and the lack of) expiration dates on their products. I have had multiple occurrences where the item I went into purchase was either listed as expired or they had no expiration date (assuming the owners scratch the expired dates off). I went in to buy chinese mooncakes and noticed they were reselling old ones from last year. I no longer trust this store or recommend this to anyone.

They have a variety of specialty food, but the food is often not fresh (or even expired). The service is terrible. Once, they sold me a rotten fish. When I got it back, they returned money. However, Ive received no apology, no sorry, no smile. Needless to say, they are always glum and unfriendly. It seems to me, that they behave in the same way as they do in China or other Asian countries. They never adapt to American standards of service.

I love the huge selection of fish cakes! They have a wide selection of vegetables, fish (including live fish), meats, ramen, candies, snacks, and so much more! The line to check out is never very long because they usually have more then one person working the registers. The only reason I didnt put 5 stars is because there kimchi isnt very good, so when we pick up food here we have to make another trip somewhere else just for good Kimchi.

Very rude customer service, I tried to exchange an item because it was out of date and they said yes but when I got to the cashier with the exchange they change the story and started to say we cant have the exchange and the lady there was very rude and talked to me in a way like Im at false. I do not recommend shopping here.

I stop in here to buy things like sesame oil, rice noodles, 5-spice powder, and other slightly exotic ingredients. Their selection is more extensive and their goods better priced than anywhere else. The staff has always been polite and helpful. Also my children love the stone lions.

The most comprehensive Asian grocery in Lansing. You can find just about anything you need here. More Chinese-based, so if you need Thai or Vietnamese special items they might have them, but there are other places in town that cater to those foods specifically.

I dont know what anyone else is talking about, if anything the people that work there are overly friendly! The girls working checkout were very very friendly and nice to me, I would recommend this market to anyone.! Jeff

One of the better foreign food stores in the Lansing/East Lansing area. It focuses highly on Chinese food, however, and Korean/Japanese patrons may be disappointed by the lower number of options for them.

They have variety kinds of Asian items including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and etc. Since I am a Korean, I could get some Kimchi, Korean noodles, and Korean ingredients with reasonable price.
