Aldi is the greatest store to exist in this or any possible universe. ITS CHEAP! (anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars cheaper than Meijer) IT MAKES DECISION MAKING REALLY EASY! (because you have no brand choices) THEYRE SUPER FAST! (because their cashiers are magic) Seriously, do I wanna spend an hour wandering around the giant Meijer up the road looking for where theyve hidden the potato chips this week? Or do I want to walk into Aldi and walk out ten minutes later with all my grocery shopping done for the week? Sure, Aldi doesnt have the selection of a larger grocery store. No, you wont get your favorite brand. But youll save soooo much money and time. I cant get enough. (Im sure everybody mentions these tips, but just in case: carts cost a quarter. If you take your cart back up and reattach it, you can get your quarter back. Almost everything is available in Aldi brand only, although many things now have an organic option thats a bit pricier. A few random things are available in another brand too, like pop tarts for some reason. The center aisle is all their "specialty" stuff and it changes every couple weeks. Dont get scared by the giant lines; the cashiers are lightning fast.)

I always love to get my produce and canned/packaged goods as well as dairy from Aldi. When this place opened it was SUPERB! But lately its been slacking. For example: bought cherry tomatoes, all looked ok but one day later preparing them, more than half were bad. Also got sugar peas, noticed many of the packages had rotting brown ones, my bag looked good, but when I got home there were several slimy brown ones in the middle. Then the lettuce....could not find any fresh looking spinach! All of the bags were slimy and wet on the bottoms! Also the soups were all messed up/mixed up, went to grab two of the same row and they were all mismatched so hard to find the items I needed. Very disappointed. Also main aisle when you walk in has no other way to go- so if its busy you literally get stuck. Also the cashiers always fast but when theres only one, and a line that goes down the aisle...time for someone else to step up (not to mention lights were not alit in checkout lane, but an inactive land had light on). I really hope they step it back up!!

Apparently if you have never been here before you are supposed to know you need a quarter in order to get a cart. There were two blondes in there that are just rude. Store is laid out weird doesnt have a good flow. Cereal in two spots and same with meat and pastas. Finally go to check out girl gets up and walks away. Comes back 5 minutes later no lie the lady behind me kept track. Normally I wouldnt care but Im sorry no mother wants to be in line with 3 kids longer than she has to be. Oh by the way bring your own bags. Other wise you have to buy them again fine....oh but we ate charging extra because you grabbed paper. Wait minute it feels like plastic. Where is the plastic. Oh they were out. Horrible visit. Plus cashier just throws everything in the cart. Got out to my car had a trail of sugar leafing from the store. I went back in and they gave me a hard time. I will never go back not until they get new staff or change some things.

I love this all this is probably my favorite out of all of the others in the Greater Lansing area being that I live in Haslett is 5 minutes away from my apartment and the employees are friendly and helpful especially the managers. Boxes are always available if you need an extra one to carry groceries out. And even if you forget to grab a cart they will let you use one I have to check out for a moment to unload your food in the boxes and bags. They have clean restrooms and theyre pretty organized. My only wish is that they would have a little bit extended hours on certain days not every day because I know their employees want to go home to their families too. I wish the CATA bus stop here because it would make it very easy and cheap to go get groceries verses having to go to Walmart or Meijer which is further.

Shopping at Aldi can be a fast and great experience. Their prices are good on many or most of the products they carry, and checking out is normally a quick experience. The people who work there are friendly and helpful and their cashiers are very fast, even when the customer has a lot of items. If you have not been to Aldi things you should know: there is a 25 cent charge to use a cart for shopping. You do get the quarter back when you put the cart back. They carry very few national brands, so if you are going there to get a favorite cereal or other packaged item, they probably only carry their own brand. That can be a problem - the store is small and for my tastes I dont care for a lot of their store products. Cheese, dairy, nuts and many of their snack foods are good.

I rarely go to the Okemos location so when i do i normally have a great experience, that is until today, when we experienced the punk cashier named Brandon who felt it was necessary to reprimand us and talk to us like we were children simply because we used a key in lieu of a quarter for the shopping cart. We have used this trick in a pinch many times, and were not aware we could simply go in and ask for a quarter. Brandon needs some customer service training or a new job. Needless to say i will most likely not be returning to the Aldi in Okemos any time soon.

This was my first visit, and I loved it. I found a lot of nice things that are cheap. OJ, milk, chocolates, nuts, bread, cereals, grapes, kiwis, apples, peaches,... I am a Sams Club regular, but I found that ALDI has better prices, and you dont have to buy in bulk. And I also think the quarter-operated shopping cart is an excellent idea, it keeps carts neatly stationed without having to hire employees to to do the job, and it really is not in any way inconvenient to the customers. I think I will become an ALDI regular from now on.

The items at this store can be more reasonable than traditional grocers. I find that I cant buy everything. But, I save more than enough to warrant the extra trip. Coconut Oil is the cheapest I have found any place. Bacon is almost always cheaper. I also eat Gluten Free. They have many GF foods and are better tasting than any Ive tried. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Okay- 2 things you should know THE REASON THEH ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE LOWER PRICES is because they work on a skeleton crew. So stop giving workers a hard time about being short staffed people. Also the selection tends to be limoted. HOWEVER, I save soooo much money on the basics by shopping there and when that is your objective, ALDI is a God-send.

Like save a lot stores. Off brand food for a discounted price. Sometimes u get what you pay for, but the store was clean and customer service nice. Heads up you have to pay $0.25 for a cart and you get it back in the end. Also bring your own bags they dont have any.
