We found and fell in love with an L-shaped desk in your clearance Center. It was nice and sophisticated, the kind of furniture that would last us a very long time, if not forever. Our interaction with one of the sales persons was very lack-luster. After we zeroed in on the desk I picked out online, the salesperson seemed less-than-interested in working for our business. I am always hesitant when purchasing a high-ticket item, as I am fairly frugal and try to keep within a budget. I wanted to make sure this was the desk I really wanted. Upon inspection of the floor model, I asked the salesperson whether the surface of the desk was actually scratch-resistant, as the description on the website had stated. She immediately became defensive and asked me who told me that and absolutely not. I am not sure what that was about. I was just asking a question. Then, as I proceeded to think about it (it was probably about 10 to 15 minutes total I thought about it) the salesperson decided she would make a personal phone call home to instruct someone to begin dinner. I am pretty sure I am the reason the sales person can have dinner, so I would have preferred them to focus on me a bit more, helping me through my purchase. Eventually, I decided to purchase, and we paid in full with my debit card. After we purchased, we were informed that the desk would be in 2 days later. We called 2 days later, and it was in fact in, and we proceeded to procure the fairly heavy and large item that barely fit in our crossover vehicle ( unable to close the gate). After we returned home with our desk, I anxiously opened and unloaded box 1 of 2. After beginning to open box 2 of 2, I noticed it was a different color. We proceeded to immediately call Art Van Furniture on Center Rd. in Burton, Mi. Your customer service rep/manager told us that he would check into this and call us back to find out how he could "make this right" with us. When he called back, we thought it was fair that they deliver the new box, and pick up the incorrect one. We live pretty close-5 min. away. He then told us that this was "our responsibility" to make sure that 2 boxes that look almost identical were exactly the same. Upon first glance they looked correct. Literally the only difference is their color, meaning the color of the desks. The boxes are near identical. How is this our responsibility? How many opportunities did your employees have to see that one wasnt correct? Also, he said that the box could fit in the back seat of a car. How? The box is 134 lbs, almost 6 ft. long and 3 ft. wide. My husband and I unloaded it together with a fair amount of struggling, since it was heavy (134 lbs) and a little awkward. Hes 6 ft. and very beefy. I am pretty strong, but I also have a deteriorating spine which Ive had a lumbar fusion surgery and a few bulging discs in my neck and thoracic spine with significant arm weakness and arthritis. (Yes, I did not win the genetic lottery. If youd like to know more about my body and what hell Ive been through, let me know. I am NOT exaggerating.) I just didnt have it in me to go through that again. I cant believe the manager would have suggested this to us. This is not our fault. If your policy isnt really to "make it right" you shouldnt suggest it. Or maybe you should have your employees who help you load it suggest we inspect the packages very closely to make sure theyre right. We purchased our dining room table, kitchen table, living room furniture, and our bed frame/tempurpedic mattress from you. So, ya know, weve spent a LOT of money with you. So, thank you for letting us now see that there are other companies to take our business to from now on.

Sales staff is awesome BUT getting the stuff not so much. Steve was great when he sold me a couch, chair and tv stand. I told all my friends how awesome he was and how great the sales team is. If I could give sales the review then they would get a perfect 5. Delivery day arrives and I am without a chair, when I ask about it the delivery guys (who did a great job as well) seem confused that nobody called me. They said it was damaged and ordered a new one but that I should get it by the end of the month. The end of the month was less than 2 weeks away so i smiled and said okay. April 1 rolls around so I call them and they say not yet "expect april 7 or 8". A little annoyed but cant really do anything about it, fine I will wait another week. Call AGAIN April 8th and I am told that those are only estimates and they cant help it but maybe end of the week. Everything was suppose to be in my apartment the day I moved in but almost a month later and I am left with an incomplete furniture set and a "the dates are only estimates". Next time I will just go to Lapeer Furniture

The absolute worst experience ever. The first sales person I talked to could not concentrate on my needs for thirty seconds without answering the phone, then needing to ask me to repeat what i had just said about fifteen times. He then could not be bothered to fill out a credit app for me, and passed me off to another employee. This other employee, a so called manager I later find out, was also preoccupied with everything that was not work, like dinner plans and his upcoming vacation. The manager repeatedly lied to me , telling me the mattress and box spring i was trying to purchase was in stock. After finally getting approved for the purchase, and putting $140 down, I find out that they do not have what i thought i just purchased in stock. If you want to deal with lazy, do not do their jobs well, couldnt care less about the customer sales people who lie to you, Art Van in Burton is where to do business. Picking furniture out of the trash will leave you with a better experience.

Highly do not recommend this store have purchased over 30000 dollars in furniture through art van in my life but now is time to find another store over a silly 5 dollar there cost ladder.recently was in process of purchasing living room sets and kid sets. One was a bunk bed where price on floor does not included ladder found out few days later when we went to purchase some more furniture.we ask manager to include said no.well then we canceled order. Also we stopped in to check out mattress that time manager was training new guy was very rude to us that time also .So in my opinion stay away from this store manager been there to long and is starting to get very rude have dealt with him for many years and it is time for him to go...

The Sales associates on the floor are extremely friendly, a little pushy (in a sly way), but friendly none the less. Sharon on the other hand (store manager) is the complete opposite. Extremely rude over the phone, talks to you as though you are a waste of her time. It is because of her that my fiance and I will no longer shop at Art Van. And we need all brand new furniture, so...someone else will profit from that LARGE purchase. Update: Adjustment to our bill has still not been made (it has been over 2 mths now) STILL waiting for Sharon to call me back, been 5 days now
