Been here twice and will never go back and will let my MANY biker friends know about my terrible experiences here - customer service is a joke. 1st time I was in here I stood at the register with bike parts in one hand and cash in the other and waited for at least 15 mins at the register. I went to the back a couple of times to let them know I was waiting, smiled, asked real nice - but they told me to wait. There were 3 guys working at the time - one guy on repairs, one guy helping another customer, and the last guy was on a computer in the back. I figured one of 3 guys could have stopped so I could give them my money. But they just had me standing there, waiting for what seemed like no reason. 2nd time I was here: I came back, wanted to support a local shop, even thought I had a poor 1st experience, I thought Id giveem a 2nd chance. Well, 2nd time was worst than the first. The barefoot guy "helping" me actually told me (I promise this is a direct quote) "I dont have time for this". Wow - if you dont have time to sell me bike parts (or put your shoes and socks on), then what are you doing working at a bike shop? I guess your time is better than my money? I wonder how your boss feels about this? Ill never go back. To all those looking at this review, please check out any other bike shop in the area besides these guys - unless you wanted to be treated like dirt by the arrogant, unkempt employees. Plus, they dont have a great selection, prices arent that competitive, and as Ive stated endlessly the people in the shop SUCK. Let me put it this way - the people at Ferris wheels are SO AWFUL I took the time out of my day to write this review.

Dedicated to biking rather than just selling stuff, Jeff Ferris has grown the business over the past 30+ years. My family has bought at least 7 bikes there, and weve been happy with them. The shop stands behind the products it sells. Though they carry all types of bikes (from kids bikes up through "those fancy carbon things with too few spokes") Im most impressed with their focus on actually riding and using your bike. Weve had repairs done countless times, and the service is great. Weve found that theyre sensitive to the needs of commuters, and Ive often been surprised that they can fit in an emergency repair when needed. Jeff Ferris, the owner, has been a pillar of the JP community, organizing around bike issues, and providing support for various events in the community. Events at the shop include monthly commuter pancake breakfasts, instruction and group rides (both road and mountain.)

I purchased a custom built bike here and was very happy with the assistance they provided me in picking out the various components and making adjustments until I was pleased with the results. Everyone I worked with was very knowledgeable and helpful. Its a small shop and even though they have a lot of help, it can get busy at times but that is understandable. Before I went to Ferris Wheels I visited another shop and they basically told me that if I wasnt happy with the standard models that their distributors carried, that they would not be able to help me.

Excellent Service! Both Jeff and Mark, with their great knowledge and patience, helped me pick out a bike based on my needs. Their shop is small and can get busy at times, but if you are patient, you will be in for a treat with their personalized service. They will spend as much time as possible to get you the bike you need, and wont try to just get you to buy overpriced bikes needlessly. The selection is good and they dont hesitate to recommend a less expensive bike if it fits you the best.

Ive been to this shop on several occasions now. The mechanics are very good and really know what they are doing. Turn around can be fast if you have a simple problem, but they are very busy and will take time to do major work. No problem. Just make an appointment. So far work has always been done when they said it would be. Like a lot of places they want to sell you stuff, but its good stuff and you can always say no.

Super nice, knowledgeable mechanics and salespeople. I am not a bike mechanic and they dont talk down to me in this place, they are just friendly and helpful. When I bring my bike here, I really feel like they do everything they can to help me quickly, and their rates are very fair. They are a neighborhood institution at this point. You will see all sorts of cyclists young and old going in and out of this shop.

Knowledgeable and quick quality service. I tend to go here to order my parts for my road bike and get their suggestions on what to order. They go through the options with some pros/cons. Once a year Ill drop my bike off to get a full service tune-up as well. They also stand by their workmanship. Had some issues with some parts and they fixed them up no extra charge right on the spot.

Great Shop! This is one of the most helpful, competent and friendly bike shops I have been to. They have consistently helped me figure out the best options for my bike(s), helped me pick the best bike for me and have even gone out of their way to sell me some brake pads (when I let my bike get to "metal-on-metal" when they werent really even open! Thanks Ferris Wheels...

I am amazed the patience that the manager and the staff showed to me (a new bike rider). I tend to ask A LOT of question before i make big puchases. they answered each one with patience and expertise. this is even more amazing considering it was a saturday and they were super busy! They are professional and attentive! A+ for these guys and gals right here!

Awesome crew! Friendly and warm. Build up a relationship -- take the time to listen to their advice. They work with a wide range of bikes and types of riders. Call ahead to schedule a tune-up and they will make it work for your schedule. Wide selection of accessories -- ask, if you dont see it; much of their stock is not necessarily visible.

Im a 26 miile-a-day bike commuter. This shop has done a fantastic job keeping my bike going with very long-lasting, cost-effective parts. Ive had experience with other bike shops, none of which seem to understand the needs of a bike commuter. Now I would never go anywhere else with my bike. A great place with great staff.

Ever since I moved to JP, I have been coming to the shop for a variety of reasons: accessories, spare parts, and some mechanical services. The folks at Ferris Wheels have always been super helpful and fantastic. Highly recommended.

Extremely knowledgeable employees. They get backed up. A lot. But its because they believe passionately in people having exactly what best suits their personal cycling needs, and that is exactly what you should wait 10 minutes for.

Great place, really cares about the customer and the community. Fantastic repair service whether for a hard-driven commuter bike or occasionially ridden kids bike. Definitely the best bike shop in the world.
