...I asked Donald if he can provide me copies of my paper work. He said, "look I already told you you have to talk to financing I cant help you". I gave me him a confused face and said I was going to write down everything he is stating. He felt insulted and asked me to step away from his desk, and sit on the couch if Im just going to be sitting at his desk because he was busy. I told him Im looking for the information I need so I can go, kept cutting me off and raising his voice and I am a young lady who went over there by myself. Another gentlemen by the name of Nick came out of the Infamous back room where finance is supposed to be located, and asked what was going on. I told him I was looking for copies of my paperwork that I sign. He asked me for a little more info since he didnt understand why I asked for paperwork and I told him I had put a 1000.00 down and was looking for my deposit he said okay well ight now finance is in a auction and should return around 2pm or 3pm. I said great that is the exact information I was looking for. Nick took my name and number to give to finance. 4:11pm came I had not received a call from finance and called them. No one picked up the phone anywhere. I called sales and services and clearly everyone was on break. I called until 4:25pm repetitively and got no answer. I called again twice today and they transfered me over to finance, one time a guy picked up asked for my name and transfered me, no on picked up. Then Donald picked up my second phone call, didnt ask me for my name and transfered me over and again no one picked up. Of course I left voicemails and no response. There is another user who left a review similar to my and he got his deposit refunded to him. I feel they are being sexist since I am a young lady who is trying to handle this independently and they are giving me a very had time. If you guy did it for another customer with much unwanted drama as he stated in his review why wont you give me mines back?!?!?!?!?! Clearly they think they can take advantage of me. A finance manager who is a friend of mine told me he would help, but when getting on the phone with someone...They told him to stay out of their business, lol. My friend said they are probably the craziest and worst USED car dealership. But keep calling until they give in, which I am since clearly stated in these reviews they do give back deposits. Turn around go in the opposite direction anf find another dealer. This place is the worst. I went in just to talk about my options see the cars and meet Bill "THE DEALMAKER" more like (THE CON ARTIST). This guy took my information and told me he was doing a soft pre approval. He proceeded to the back room behind a creepy two way mirro, where he without my permission ran my credit. Bill spent more time in this room than talking and explaining things to me. He avoided my questions and double talked most the time. He told me about my options while i still was unaware he ran my credit. He kept asking if i had $500 if needed. I told him yes but was still shopping around. He told me that there program requires a $5 processing fee but ur guaranteed approval. I said cool ok never heard of it but everywhere is different. He took my card and swiped it for $500 dollars. Which i noticed after signing then double checking the receipt. I instantly upset. Bill then begins feeding me all these lines about hows its to hold the car and youve been approved. I said what car being that i havent seen or test driven any car. He retreats back into the room and comes back with paperwork wanting and asking me to sign. I was completely confused and said no i need you to refund my money so i can leave. Bill ignored what i said and kept pushing for me to sign. No terms had been discussed (apr%, monthly payments) Absolutely nothing. Minutes of back and forth Bill tells me that he doesnt have the authorization to do refunds. My transportation was being impatient and could no longrr wait. I had no patience left and was forced to leave without my proper refund before things got bad. I returned multiple times driving over two hours wasting gas. I was given every excuse "the Manger isnt here to do it." They eveb gave me a refund with the machine unplugged and told me it would go through once they got money back in the system for the day....... Finally after much more drama than I bargained for my money was refunded. THIS PLACE IN MY OPINION IS FULL OF COM ARTIST PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Ignore their deals and LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE! There is a real problem with these guys (Detour Cars) business practices. If you are considering this dealer and not sure about the reviews, I will urge you to take their poor reviews seriously. They treat prospective clients poorly and are not transparent about their cars. Am not sure whether they assume that any one who calls to first inquire is just not worth their time , or that every body in the US is a fraud so treat them disrespectfully! That is a poor mindset to take into business. I called to inquire about a vehicle of interest (to purchase) and the guy asked me whether I was nearby. When I mentioned that I was out of state but interested in the vehicle, he said he had a customer to attend to and will call back. He never did! I called several times with no response. After a while, I called and supposedly a different guy picked up the phone. When I asked about the VEHICLE HISTORY & CONDITION, the guy said - of course the vehicle has no problems and was even used by the owner so it is fine! Since that is not how it works, I politely asked him what the Carfax report actually said (most dealers post it along with the vehicle). At that point the guy said that I had to come in before they could show me! I asked why he could not just pull it up and inform me right there before I commit to coming over to see it. He then used the same gimmick and said OK he will check and call me back! I asked a friend near Danvers to call them and then head there to see it and they treated him with the same contempt over the phone without even meeting him! The contempt and lack of transparency suggest that you may expect more of such if you end up buying from them and discover you got a bad vehicle.

I began having car problems with my 03 nissan maxima and needed to get a new car asap so i could get to and from work. The first local place I found online was Detour Cars and I called them about an 08 acura i saw on the website. I talked to Donald and he seemed like a nice guy who wanted to find me a reliable and affordable vehicle. He told me to come in anytime and apply for credit even if I had bad or no credit at all (I had no credit). I went in with my father(who co-signed for me which helped a lot) and we talked to Donald about financing a vehicle and we got started right away finding which vehicle would be best for me. As I said I liked the selection of acura vehicles they had and they seemed to be my top choice. I also walked by an Infiniti G37x coupe which I loved but I figured it would be out of my price range and an unrealistic buy for me. After telling Donald my top choices on the lot and that the infiniti was my favorite, he told me hell do what he can to fit the vehicles price into my financial plan. After a few phone calls to the bank and a little bit of negotiating, Donald got the price to drop dramatically and I ended up buying one of the hottest cars on the lot! Being 22 years old and having no credit I figured I would end up with a vehicle I liked, but nothing too special. Thanks to Donald I now have a car I love that will last me for years to come! Thank you Donald! Youre the man!
