I worked and shopped at this store for an entire year before I realized I would never go back again. First of all, the stuff that matters. The meat department is a crock of crap. The "Certified Angus" you pay at least $1.00/lb more for is, in reality, choice beef that looked the best. I did the ordering, and we never ordered "CAB" ANYTHING. The "fresh stew" is yesterdays roasts and steaks, and the chicken smells like it sat in its own juices for weeks (which it has). So dont waste your money on the "quality" of the meat department, as far as "store brand" goes, its the same as market basket. The RAW seafood load arrives to the store on TOP of the FRESH PRODUCE, often with cracks and breaks in the packaging. Make your own decisions about that one. Now, to the employees. First of all, the company starts you off at $8.00/hr. Under minimum wage. Lets just say, they only do $8.00/hr worth of work, and care less than that. The attention that one would prefer in a grocery business is abandoned due to the sub-par skill level of almost every employee from part-time to upper level management. Overall the ignorance and arrogance of the "guys in suits" taking over the store on most days subtracts from any appeal a customer would have of the store. All in all, there was never a day I walked out of this store without the urge to commit harm to myself or others.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Went in tonight at 10 pm and got over $200 worth of food with my mom. At 11pm they announced that they were closed. Not closing.. CLOSED. So I got to check out 2 mins later and they the manager comes shouting at me and my mom "HEY LADIES WERE CLOSED." We just stared at him embarrassed because all his employees were watching. Then he repeated himself (still shouting) that they were closed. I said "Okay, I heard you the first time." and he still kept going "well we said it four times you didnt hear?" I said "yes, 4 times in a row in under 4 mins.." EVERY store I go to reminds customers theyre closing 10-15 mins earlier. And even when we get to checkout late, they never give us a hard time. Now this guy wants to close at 11pm, without any warning and then shout at us when we get there in front of every one? Super rude and unprofessional. Anyway, he said he would still check us out. I said no thanks and left. Hope he has fun putting all the groceries back. AND Apart from all this, the vegetable and fruit section is the worst; nothing is fresh. I like the options they have for organic/gluten free, and you can find pretty good deals. I also liked how they were open later, but after being treated like that Im probably never going there again.

I would like to commend the staff at the Chelmsford St location for their excellent customer service and persistent teamwork. You guys were awesome in assuring I received my order in a timely manner. Last week I had placed a large bulk order for some noodles and I was almost certain I sounded crazy. To my surprise, I received a courtesy call from Sara confirming that my order had arrived. Upon picking them up, I had brought some concerns to her attention and she kindly addressed them. After nearly an hour of checkout performed by Sienna, I was greeted by another associate who helped me wheel it out and load it into my truck. You guys are wonderful and are prime examples of what customer service means. From the minute I placed my order to the minute I drove off, your team assisted me in every way possible. Thank you Sara, Ed, and Sienna along with the rest of the staff for making this a stress free trip. You guys have played a huge role in feeding many families. Keep up the good work and thanks again.

There is a good variety of non perishable healthy/organic products to choose from but the organic produce is not always particularly fresh. Today there was a nice display of moldy organic oranges. Yum! I do appreciate how easy it is to find what Im looking for, and the selection of all natural pet foods is refreshing. Unfortunately, customer service is severely lacking at this store. The cashiers are almost always in bad moods and the baggers dont seem to care about packing bags in an efficient way. I often end up with all my cans in one bag, which splits open as I struggle to get my groceries to my apartment, while other bags have a single lightweight item in them. This annoys me because I used to be a cashier/bagger when I was younger so I know its not a difficult technique to master. Overall, I am still pleased with the range of products and am happy that I can get everything I need in one place. But if my bags rip one more time Im gonna freak out.

It has a large selection of most everything but the prices are high. They do have sales on certain things if you have a store card and they print coupons for stuff you just bought so that youll come back and buy it again. I dont shop here much because I dont like to play that game. I dont have a store card but if I ask at the register they will run some virtual card and give me the discount. If I forget to ask I pay full price. They are open later than Market Basket so if I need something at 10:30 at night I will shop there but I tried to avoid it.

Big, clean, well organized and stocked Supermarket. The staff is friendly and helpful. I shop there, even though its a little farther than my usual stores because they carry some items I cant get at other stores ( organic and all natural products ). Their produce is very good quality. The store have enough cashiers to keep the lines short. Their prices are slightly above average which are balanced by loss leaders and good sales. There is plenty of parking and its right off Route 3 and 110 for easy access.

Very nice pleasant atmosphere, clean and very organized. Prices are on par with market basket across the street of course not everything is cheaper there than on market basket but at the same time not everything at market basket is cheaper than this stop & shop if you value good deals I would say check it out and do a proper comparison on the items you buy on both, you will likely be surprised if you though that market basket was a much better deal specially after they came back from the store closures.

I love this place!!# it this is the only supermarket that has great space to shop perfect for these modern times 2016...my only complaint and its a small one I always get distracted Im always forgetting what I originally want sometimes please I suggest a list ...unlike this forgetful writer...me lol plus I commend the staff Connor Brittany Ricky Julie the nutritionist plus Dave at the bag area hes quite a guy. they always love it when my son greg jr is there awesome staff and management!

Pricier than market basket, but much better selection of food and wider aisles make for a pretty good shopping experience. The only thing I really cant stand about this place is that the deli kiosk is always "unavailable". I prefer to use this vs waiting at the deli because I order a lot and want to shop while they complete my order. Its annoying that its always off and I have to wait for 15-20 min while they slice my order.
