After more than 7 years and 10,000 miles of riding a high performance 2004 Fuji Roubaix, I needed a new bike because of an accident that damaged the fork; however, I found the small family-owned bike shop in Manchester, NH, (where I bought it) no longer carried road bikes! A quick Google search later, I found the Chelmsford Cyclery -- I weighed out the driving distance from central NH and the MA sales tax, but they said they had models in stock...I decided to check them out. The salesman who assisted me was pleasant and helpful (no pressure) -- he listened to my story -- recommended that I look at and try several Fuji bikes he had in stock, including a 2011 Fuji Roubaix 2.0 at a clearance price and in my size! At the point of sale, it was recommended for me to return for a complimentary tune-up after I ride it at least 45 miles. I showed up the next week and was cheerfully greeted. My bike was taken in, and I was headed away again within five minutes. I was called on the date that I had been told it would be completed to let me know that it was ready for pick-up. I couldnt be happier with this find -- I like the small town feel of the bike shop, the personal attention (and sense of humor) that I got from the staff, and mostly the great bike! -- Rob

We went on a vacation about two weeks ago. We were bringing all our bikes—2 adult bikes and 3 kids bikes (for my 3 year-old, 6-year old and my nephew, who became part of our vacation group at the last minute). We were going to bring in all the bikes to our local bike shop in Andover to get them all checked up and tuned up. At the eleventh hour, we found out that the bike store in Andover went out of business. So, we have to rush to Chelmsford Cyclery on 5PM Friday. The folks there were very helpful. After hearing our story and our desperate request of rush service, they quickly got the two adult bikes tuned up. They (Justin and Malcolm) explained to us that the two kid’s bikes for my daughters were too small for them and gave us a good deal on two replacement bikes that both girls just loved the new colors. My nephew’s bike was the real challenge. They had to work overtime on that Friday afternoon to finally completed the tune up. It wasn’t easy, but when we rode these bikes during our vacation in Woodstock, VT, we gave our appreciation to those boys at the Chelmsford Cyclery, who made our vacation experience extra special.

I first took my bike to another shop to get it fixed but thought the price was too high and I could not waited the 4 weeks they needed to hold onto it for, so I wanted another quote. I came to Chelmsford Cyclery on a Saturday morning and could tell they were swamped with people so I didnt expect much speed. They pretty quickly came over to me and asked what I needed. The younger guy wrote up a tag for the repair of the bike, but admitted he could not nail down the total price. He went and got the boss who very quickly asked what the other store and myself thought my bike needed fixed. He thought a little bit and said between $150 and $175 for the shifters, some tires and some other stuff, and it would take a week or so. The price and time was much lower so I said ok. The next Tuesday they called and said the bike was all set. I went back to pick it up and had a pleasant surprise. The price was only $95. The boss said they were able to repair the shifters for much lower cost. I was happy. I noticed their bike prices seemed lower too, so I went back for my son and he picked out a nice Fuji mountain bike that he is very happy with.

My girlfriend and I both bought bikes at this place. The guy that works the counter there treats you like he could not care less if you are there or not. We continued to go due to the convenience of the location and the bikes were decent. Weve gone twice for tune-ups and this last time, my girlfriends bike was in worse condition than when we brought it in (gear slipping). He said we might need to replace the rear gears but he didnt bother calling to ask if she wanted it done and he didnt do it. We finally had enough and tried another location. Not only did they do the repair on the spot, but they charged us less than half of what the guy in Chelmsford quoted for the same job. They were also nice and seemed to care that we were giving them business. Weve learned our lesson and will not be going back tot he Chelmsford Cyclery.

I went into purchase a bike and had the WORST sales experience of my life. The guy there was totally disinterested in selling me a bike! I had test rode a few bikes prior and was hoping to get some guidance on what they had and maybe check one or two of their bikes out. I had to pull info out of the associate and when I finally asked him if I could ride one he said "God only gave me so much time on this earth" and if I wasnt buying today he didnt have time for me. If I found the right one there I may have... But I ended up purchasing a Trek which with accessories cost close to $1000. Combined with future servicing costs I wont be bringing there, I guess God gave them enough customers and money to never see me or mine. If you want a good sales experience dont bother with this place.

0 stars for customer service. Rude AF. Been in the shop 3 times same experience 3 times. Dropped of my bike to get assembled and was told one week. called exactly one week after and was told they have not touch the bike. I called before dropping it off and was told "yeah drop it off and we should be able to finish it in week" but if they was too busy they should of just told me and I would of found someone else to do it. instead I wasted my time. And if i never called i wouldve waited an extra week. The least he could of done was call and tell me. The guy was not interested. came off very rude. Dont waste your time going or asking any question he might just give you a brief ass answer that you can find on google. Never going back. sorry not sorry

Got the bike back in a week which is good, but brakes were too tight, so I redid them. Also bike was not clean when returned, which I thought I requested. When I asked to at least have my chain cleaned, they towelled it off quickly and put spray lube on, leaving even more goop on my frame. Friendly place for families, but I could have done better work myself, and from now on I will be doing my own basic maintenance, and will probably be taking my bike someplace else for more serious stuff.

I brought in my commencal bike and needed my rear tyre installed on my wheel so i left it with them, they called me back 30 min later and said that they cant do it because they were incapable of doing it they they tried telling me it will cost me more than 10$ for it because there was a chance they might pop my tube. Why should i have to pay more money because they damaged something of mine that i gave to them in perfect working order.
