This is a shop to trust! There are very few business owners anymore that will not only stand behind what they sell, but will be there for you when things go wrong. Brendan, owner of Blackstone Bicycles, is one of those people. My fiance recently purchased a step-through frame "comfort" bike from Brendan, for an extremely reasonable price. He assured her that after a couple days of riding to take it back to him for adjustments here and there if needed (as any bike would need after "settling" through the first couple rides). However, on our second ride, after we checked and reset the tire pressure for our bikes (using bike pump and pressure gauge) to 58-60psi (max for tires was 65psi) and mounted our bikes on the trunk mounted bike rack, we stopped at Cumberland Farms to get some waters etc. and while the bike was sitting there, all of a sudden *BOOM* and there went her back tire. As Brendans shop was closed that day (attending funeral), we took her bike to a competitor to get repaired. They replaced the seal, tube, and rechecked the front tire pressure (as I was afraid our gauge was wrong and we had over inflated it...it was fine) and we re-racked our bikes and set out (again) for the bike path. While on the highway, about half way there, sure enough...*BOOM*...and there went her front tire. We returned to the competitors store, visibly frustrated, and had them check how we mounted the bikes to see if, perhaps, it was our user error that was causing them to explode. Nope, everything seemed fine to the technician. So we paid to have the front tube replaced (seal was fine), tire pressure re-checked (I watched and insisted on seeing the reading) and set out AGAIN for the bike path (we were determined!!) Rest of the day went smoothly. I called Brendan and left a message explaining what happened to her bike, not having been 3 weeks old at that point, and my concern that a defect could be present in the tubes used for her, and other, brand new bikes at his shop. My fiance had received a voicemail from him, but she failed to communicate this with me. So I decided to stop by one day (about a week later) while on a ride, bringing the tubes with me. Brendan, having heard what happened, was understandably skeptical about the circumstances and suggested over inflation as the cause (lets face it, people lie to scam ALL THE TIME). As I explained the details, and how i made steps to rule out over inflation as an issue, it seemed more a defect as I have been riding for YEARS and never once had two tubes explode on one bike, in the same day, both brand new OEM equipment less than 3 weeks old. Brendan, although in no way directly responsible for what happened, took responsibility and refunded the cost of the tube replacement and, in my opinion, by trusting us, showed true character and earned our business for a long, long time. Dont take this review as an opportunity to try to mistake him as a pushover, hes not. However, Brendan truly does care about his customers not just by his words, but by his actions. This, in my opinion, sets him apart from the MANY other bike shops in the area. I would recommend this business to ANYONE!

Great LBS (local bike shop) -- if they dont have what you need theyll order it right away. If you need something done fast theyll try their hardest to accommodate. 9x outta 10 it is the owners youre dealing with directly. They are also heads of the local mountain bike club, so do regular rides in Lincoln Woods. Dont buy from big box stores, buy from folk who really know bicycles.

I just had them convert my RM Altitude to a 1x drivetrain. I dropped the bike off in the morning and it was ready by the EOD AND its shifting better than before! The owner (name forgotten) was awesome, very informative and helpful. I will be converting to a tubeless setup soon and these guys will be the shop I go to, now and and in the future.

Saw a bike I was interested in on their website and received a quick and helpful reply to my email. Ended up driving the 80 miles to their store to purchase due to much better price than my local bike shop.
