The short answer - its convenient. Its right near Trader Joes and close to our house. The problem is, the service is TERRIBLE! I am certain that the pharmacy staff is strictly forbidden to smile or be polite, and I have had nothing but problems with getting scripts filled. Example: I used the Rx refill by phone service, and although the automated service said my prescription would be ready the next day, it wasnt. When I showed up, the staff said that it couldnt be refilled until the next Monday. Fair enough, I may have run through my pills a few days early, but why doesnt the phone system tell you that? Its supposed to, they said. Well, since it was the weekend, I had to go without my prescription over the weekend. Anyway, I show up Monday, and the prescription is ready, right? Of course not. You know, when I was in retail, the corporate offices would send out a "secret shopper" around to the stores to check things out. We never knew who or when. So guess what? We were polite and helpful to everyone. If Walgreens did that, their awful pharmacy staff wouldve been sent packing a long time ago. Soon enough, the CVS nearby will open, and Ill bet customers will leave in droves. I left one star only because you cant leave zero. Youre inept and rude, Arlington Heights Pharmacy staff. McDonalds might be hiring.

I go here all of the time -- only looked up the store on google to get their number. Reading the ratings I wonder what motivates one to rank a store on google? I am guessing a negative experience may cause more folks to go online and post than good experiences, or even normal everyday ones. This place fits the bill.... I go there and get drugs, candy or newspapers. I manage to leave without getting my feelings hurt. The balding cashier with glasses and woman who works at evening and always chews gum is nice. Five stars as my expectations I feel are reasonable

Even though the horrid man is gone, the attitude is not! I feel like a criminal when I walk in the store. Buying razor blades, they follow me around, imply that I cant be trusted, and take the merchandise to the counter ~ often perscriptions cant be filled ~ drugs are not available ~ and communications between their own drugstores are not reliable. Perhaps I will choose inconvienence, drive the extra ten minutes, and patronize Maida ~ a small business still holding on in the face of corporate Walgreens!

I switched from CVS to Walgreens because of my health plan. I did not expect to like Walgreens, but much to my delight, the pharmacy is excellent, the notifications to ones email, and phone are more informative and helpful than CVS, and their smartphone app is excellent. I much prefer their notification system to the calls I got from CVS that required a tedious call back to find out the status of the medication order. Pricing is better, and pharmacy personnel are great.

This is a totally average Walgreens except for the tall, balding, brown-haired cashier with glasses, who for some reason Im just really glad is there. Hes a little slow, but he always tells you to have a nice day/night. When the rest of your life is a confusing whirlwind of change, you can count on this one specific cashier to be there and be the same person as usual, and for some reason thats very reassuring.

Do not shop here unless you have time to check your receipt and spend time holding up the line while the clerk reimburses you for overcharges. Every time I shop here the clerk either rings in items twice or doesnt give discounts that are marked. The managers are rude to the employees and the customers.

The horrid man is gone!!! The one I am referencing was tall and dark - maybe Indian? If that is the man you were scared off by like I was, theres good news! A new woman is running the pharmacy and the whole staff seems so much nicer! I would have been miserable working for that nasty man too!

Great selection, good service but sometimes it can take awhile to check out since there are only a few registers and only one is always staffed while the others come when the traffic gets heavy. They accept Apple Pay which is convenient when I forget my wallet.

Waiting and waiting for quick customer service. Photo center is painfully slow. They will promise for photos in 20min but will not be ready even after 2hr and will ask me to wait for another 5min to print. Checkout lane too slow.

Odd little Walgreens, staff are not particularly helpful, but will do in a pinch.

Your average Walgreens. Relatively large store with a good variety of products.
