I am done waiting for an actual apology from Foodtown of Kensington after the manager, Santana falsely accused my 9 year old of shoplifting and searched her bag. He followed her around the store asking if she had money to buy anything and then told her he had called the police and they would be there soon. When he searched her bag she began crying and asked what she had done wrong. When I contacted the corporate office I received a phone call from one of the owners promising apologies and meetings that have never happened. She was with her grandmother, but I can tell you if I had been there he never would have searched her backpack. He publicly embarrassed my mom and my child and made my child cry for no reason.

Hurricane Update: Foodtown was clearly prepared for the storm with the necessities. I was able to find milk, cheese, water and other items the evening before the storm. Thank you for being so well-stocked! This is Kensingtons grocery store and they certainly show it with various area posts on the bulletin boards in-house. Ive never been disappointed by their fruits, vegetables and cheese selection. And the beer? This place has an entire section of craft beers and in the "regular" aisle, carries Red Stripe and various Brooklyn Brewery beers!

This place is so clean and well-organized, nothing like the claustrophobic places Ive been in around Brooklyn. Lots of fruits and fresh veggies and health foods, and nice staff. The place looks great, and is much cheaper than Key Food. The one drawback is they dont have a wide selection of toiletry products like shampoo, so youll have to hit up a drug store for those. Otherwise, I love shopping here!

Robust selection of groceries in a relatively small and compact location. Competitive prices. Some decent deals with a Foodtown Club Card. Parking can be tight at times, but at least there is a parking lot available. Immediately adjacent to the Church Avenue stop on the F/G lines. I enjoy shopping here, meets all my basic needs and most of my specialty needs too.

This is the typical expensive Brooklyn grocery--but the people are consistently rude after a few visits. So ShopRite is down the road, also rude, but ten times the selection and half the price. Windsor Market is closer to my house, very friendly people, same prices. Point is--Foodtown is the choice in groceries that makes no sense -- unless you live next door.

Newly refurbished with better products and produce. Now caters very well to vegetarians and people on specific allergy diets. Everything is labeled and specific ingredients are made known. I was so happy when I walked in and found fresh fruit and gluten-free flour. This place has really changed a lot in the three years I have been living in this neighborhood.

The service is fairly good. Im not sure if it is the area they are in but the prices are a bit pricey. The sale are rarely a bargain. (This might be bias again since I usually shop at Costco and the neighborhood it is in, has become fairly gentrified = rich people willing to pay even more for things that are normally cheaper)

Typical grocery store. Has most food items. Produce can be hit an miss for some things, and not all produce items are à la carte (e.g., jalapeños are sold in packages of 10 or more which is kind of annoying). The beer selection is very good for a grocery store. There are discounts on many items if you have a membership card.

Location location location. Produce & fish is super fresh. Great beer selection. Vegan and organic stuff. Good prices on sale items. Nice staff. Reasonable to short checkout wait and self checkout. Dont bring your plastic bags to recycle. Dont know why, however they just put them in dumpster with all the other trash.

Great store - clean - inviting and good products- The deli guys are some of the friendliest and funniest people around and Santana - the manager is one of the nicest, helpful, service oriented people in any store around. I like him and I see that other customers like him and he treats the staff with a lot of respect.

Growing selection of local beer, sometimes great sales on things like ice cream. Started offering organic fresh meat, which is often the reason I go there. Ground beef is great, stakes are good but overpriced. Prepared food looks very suspicious, I wouldnt try it. Veggies are usually good, if a bit pricey.

This is an okay place to shop if youre in the area. If you want better quality, go to Whole Foods in Brooklyn. This is a very good place for shopping sales and stocking up on basics for the pantry. The meat is often reasonably priced and the quality is fine.

Great place to for a quick or a general shop day, they carry most high branded and also self branded items. Lines move quick and the place also have people that can help! The managers there are also AMAZING. Great place to go and do your grocery shopping.

Its a very convenient spot to grab breakfast items and last minute grocery stuff. Vegetable and fruits are relatively fresh. They often put Chobani greek yogurt on sale. I wouldnt go there for my weekly grocery shopping because they are pretty expensive.

Its a fine go to place. Clean and good overall selection. Great beer selection! Rewards program is pretty terrible, service is only ok and some of the food they have at the cold cuts section is honest ly bad. However Its still a good place.

Prices are too high, theres always a line & when you go to the register, you have to pay close attention or they will over charge you. The "managers" on the floor are not friendly or helpful.

My local supermarket closed. I have to take the train 1 stop to shop here, but it is definitely worth the trip. Good selection of foods and prices are great. I will continue to shop here.

Always stocked but a smaller sized store so hard to navigate. Does not stock all the products as their larger store in Bay Ridge. Very helpful staff. Deli manager is the best

It used to be a 4.5 with the quality of food, service and prices. Now, the prices take away from the stars. The food quality and service people are still wonderful!

Clean, has lots of options, vegetables and fruit are overpriced for the area and the quality isnt the best for them to boot. Deli is pretty great though. Nice staff.

Decent selection especially for the size of the store. Which is good because there arent many grocery stores in the area. Also the baking department is pretty good.

Its the "best" supermarket in that area. It will most likely have what you need, may be a little more expensive than the surrounding grocery stores.

The overall quality of products is good and the space is neat and tidy. It is slightly more expensive than other supermarket chains in New York.
