By far the lowest priced items (for most items) supermarket in Chinatown and it has been here the longest. Other supermarkets try to copy like their sushi/sashimi section but cant produce as much as quickly as you have 2 people right there making it. Also love the fact that you can buy $1 (Bootleg) DVDs of most Chinese Movies right outside. When I say lowest priced supermarket, I do not mean itll be cheaper than the regular veggie, fruits, fish markets out there. The price is sometimes 50% more in HK Supermarket than those places. Soda, Snack, Milk, Cereal and Juices will certainly be cheaper in a local Pathmark or Waldbaums. Though much cheaper than a CVS or Rite Aid unless they have specials. But you will not find that many Asian things in those places to begin with which is where this place shines. All in All, the only place to go to when I have guest coming to my home and I have to fix a hearty meal to impress them.

Of the large Asian grocery stores I would probably say Hong Kong Supermarket is one of the cleanest and aisle that are wide and everything is organized and clean. It has about the same selection but I would say it has a comparable produce but the fruit selection and seafood/meat aren’t as good as the others but should have the basic needs. The lower floors contains plenty of snacks, noodles and house wares that are neatly laid out. This is a reprieve from the other frenetic supermarkets where you can actually stroll down the aisle without fighting the old ladies and buying food is not a combat sport and clean floors makes it a much more pleasant experience that might be more palatable for non-Asian shoppers. There is even food tasting station which they advertise new products. The lines moves quickly and the cashiers like the others are quick and gets moves everyone along at a steady pace.

Im in a rush and dont want to pay premium prices for common items to satisfy my hunger and itch to cook up a storm. I need bok choy, instant noodles, a butane gas stove, pots, utensils, a sharp knife, some fish, some meat, Asian sauce, frozen dumplings. I go to the Manhattan Hong Kong Supermarket because they have everything. The variety is almost endless and those Chinese snacks thats near the register is always teasing me. Im hungry and craving for some sushi, Ah..at the end of the register is a small booth churning out some decent rolls for $3.50+ (cheaper when it is about to close). I need a movie to watch after cooking and maybe Ill win the lotto when they do the drawing live on TV at night. I am in luck because they sell lotto tickets and Chinese movies near the entrance to the store. Maybe my luck will turn when I really hit those numbers! I can only dream..

I went there few monthes ago. I tried to buy some chinese sauce and when I was going to pay for the sauces (two of them), I realized I lost my credit card. So I was trying to find it in front of the cashier but I couldnt. So I told her I wont buy the sauce and the cashier suddenly so upset. She said some bad words(I knew it because I understanded few words) in chinese. She was like yelling and screaming like some kind of animal... I was so shocked. My friend who went there with me helped to get out of there while I was so stunned and stood in front of that cashier. My friend said she was surprised how ignorant the cashier was. It was one of the worst experiences I had in NY. No offence to Chinese ppl. I have many Chinese friends and never saw them crazy like that. I think it was just her. So I recommand you not going there because you might meet her as your cashier.

They literally have every Asian food item you could think of! On the outside it looks very modest and pretty much like any other store in Chinatown but when you walk in its a massive 2 floor warehouse thats actually quite orderly and spacious so that you can go up and down every aisle picking and grabbing all the items you need to prepare yourself a home cooked Asian meal. Downstairs they have snacks, cooking utensils, cooking supplies, household items and all the weird miscellaneous items that you need but dont know where to get. For example, I was looking for delicate bags for laundry and they were stashed in the back left corner on the bottom floor. Can you say, AMAZING??

Hong Kong Supermarket is the place to get Asian produce and nearly anything else you might be looking for in Chinatown. They are well-stocked of nearly everything "ordinary" you can think of from Pocky snacks, types of ramen Ive never heard of, and fresh fish. The store includes a basement level to their one square-block dimension. Specifically, I was looking for a canned herbal tea drink (wong lo gut) and was able to leave with an entire case. Unlike a lot of other markets in the vicinity, they accept credit cards too (MasterCard and Visa). In true Asian market fashion, they also have a electronics kiosk in the front.

Come here for Asian cooking supplies (fruits, vegetables, fresh seafood still in tanks), kitchenware (woks, chopsticks and bento boxes), beverages (Ovaltine, teas, coffees, beers), sauces and spices (black bean sauce, teriyaki sauce, oyster sauce) - all for much cheaper than at the "International"aisle of your usual grocery store. This is also the place to find face masks and hair treatments from Japan, and lychee gummies and Hi-Chews for your sweet tooth. Dont be intimidated by the shouting from the cashiers, theyre hyper efficient and more helpful than you might expect.

Fui en busca de dulces japoneses, quede maravillada, por extensa variedad. Ademas de variados artículos de Pokemon como peluches, stickers y collares, justo lo que estaba buscando. El personal no habla español, pero con poco inglés nos entendimos.

Talk about finding some of the best in Asian goods at super affordable prices in Manhattan! Unless you speak Chinese (Cantonese, Toisan or Mandarin) be prepared to know what youre looking for...Hello Google! The fresh goods, Meats, Fish, Dairy, Vegetables, Grocery items and baked goods are located on the ground level. While dry items such as ramen, noodles, sweets and various Asian kitchenware are located downstairs. Again, huge assortment of Asian goods as well as some basic American staples can be found here at Hong Kong Supermarket!

There are multiple HK supermarkets and this is one of them. Think of it like a Pathmark, but in Chinatown. The place is very clean and organized, so there are plenty of options to choose from. With a top floor and bottom floor, youll find yourself wondering around the place for maybe like an hour. One of my favorite things to get from this place are snacks, since its pretty cheap. All my childhood snacks are in this place! If you are lucky, you might get to sample some delicious eats!

My go to grocery shop. Its the cleanest one in Chinatown (and also the most expensive, but only by a bit). The thing I love the most about this place is that it has an expansive selection of veggies and fruits that are actually fresh and dont have random flies buzzing around all over the place. The baby cucumbers and long green beans are my go to. They also have fresh seafood and poultry, which you can order and have the staff chop up if necessary.
