I recently went into Auto Country to look at a full size pick up I saw online. I decided I wanted it. I had already been approved for financing through my own bank but their lease term on this specific truck was only 3 years and I wanted a 5 year term. The salesman said "if you give us a deposit we will take the truck off the sales lot and look for better financing options for you, this deposit means that you have the RIGHT TO FIRST REFUSAL". I gave them a $200 deposit and all my personal info and went on my way. After being told that I would have a result on the financing withing 24 hours I waited almost 4 days and heard nothing, so I decided to call. My salesman was not available, I was told he would call me back. He never did. The next day, I called again. This time I got my salesman. He proceeded to tell me that they were unable to get financing for me and that they knew this 2-3 days ago! He then asked if I could get a cosigner. I told him that the only person in the state that could cosign for me was my girlfriend and her credit wasnt very good at all. I told him that my father, who has excellent credit, would happily cosign, but he lives out of state. The salesman said that they couldnt do an out of state cosigner so we should at least try my girlfriend as a cosigner. I figured, why not? Its worth a shot. After giving him my girlfriends info the same thing happened as before. No contact from them for 3-4 days. This time when I called them I spoke with someone else who told me that i was denied again and my girlfriend wasnt a good cosigner, AND they knew this 2 days ago!! I told them I knew that she wasnt a good candidate but my salesman wanted to give it a try anyway. I then got to talk to my salesman and he said he thought he had a bank that would take an out of state cosigner. This was late in the day on a Friday. The following Monday morning I had my father give them his info. Again, I was told they would have an answer in 24 hours. I waited until Wednesday with no word from the dealer, AGAIN! This time I called and was told that the truck was SOLD!!!! A WHILE AGO!!!! He then proceeded to try and sell me something else!! I said I was done doing business with them and that I was coming down immediately to get my deposit back. 30 minutes later I showed up at the dealership and demanded my money back. I asked them if this is how they do business. Do they EVER honor their deposits??? The man I spoke with said this "hey, were not perfect, I got bills to pay and your not paying them" This sent me through the roof!! He said that he didnt feel as though he had to honor the deposit because it had been almost 2 weeks since I put it down on the truck. I told him that THE ONLY REASON IT TOOK THAT LONG IS BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND PROFESSIONALISM ON THE PART OF HIS COMPANY AND THAT THERE WAS NO DISCLAIMER OR LIMITS ON HOW LONG A DEPOSIT WAS GOOD FOR, NOTHING AT ALL!!! Needless to say, things didnt end on a positive note with me and Auto Country. I highly recommend you go elsewhere if you want to be treated professionally and with respect. After all, they have bills to pay and if your not paying them then they could care less about you! Bottom line is that they didnt honor my deposit, never returned any of my phone calls and had me running around getting cosigner info and checking into my girlfiends and fathers credit (thus lowering it) and the truck HAD ALREADY BEEN SOLD! Did any of them have the balls to tell me this? NO! They just kept stringing me along hoping that my financing would go through and they could sell me something else. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND PASS BY THIS DEALERSHIP WHEN YOUR LOOKING FOR YOUR NEXT CAR.

Owner Michael Fagan is so unethical and hides in his office and makes his puppet Dwayne Crosby the GM do all his dirty work. Do not expect them to do the right thing because I have been calling 1-2 times a month since getting my vehicle which has had 6 safety issues and have asked for Dwayne and owner and left my name and phone number. I am paying on a car I cant drive. I have yet to get a call back but due to my investigation work I discovered that my a phone call with who I thought was an employee but he refused to give his name, was actually the owner. He swore numerous times and tried to berate me prior to hanging up on me. He was so unethical. I have gathered so many victims names and contacts and if I do not get any resolution from Auto Country I am going to publish all the stories from other victims and list their contacts . Auto Country knows who I am and I put 1/3 down on my vehicle and it is not safe for me to drive especially with my granddaughter. I have been paying for all the repairs and every month its something else. The 1st 2 were 6 weeks after my 1st payment and they fixed those but I had to purchase parts and pay for repair which is illegal. The law says that your vehicle should function properly for a reasonable period of time. If it doesnt the dealer must fix it at no cost. It doesnt matter if you paid less than $700(which we paid 9 times that) or if you have over 125,000 miles the implied warranty law still applies. I have records of all texts, phone calls with dates and who I spoke to. The owner also poses as employees who no longer work there. They go through employees because ethical employees do not like how the owner handles his business. They feel for their clients who they have a relationship with after selling them a vehicle. The owner is also racist and the stories that will be told if this is not resolved will shut them down. Just by word of mouth I have been contacted by so many so after this review they might want to think twice about how they handle their business and stop being unethical and guilty of deceptive business practices. Stay tuned for my update whether good or bad I will keep you updated. If our issues are not resolved I will be sharing all the stories I have been made aware of.

I didnt particularly care for the salesman - he didnt know the cars at all and would have sold me anything. When I was through looking the manager had one more car to show me. It was a nice car but needed work. After the test drive I mentioned the problems. I agreed to put $100 refundable deposit to hold for two days until I could arrange my own financing. I returned with my own financing in place but the manager absolutely refused to fix some of the problems. He also wanted me to complete the paperwork before any work was done on the car. Of course, I said no. After more discussion, I decided not to make the purchase. It was a Saturday and just about closing time. Once I said no, everyone left for the night (6pm - I had been there about 1.5 hrs). I forgot about my deposit and when I remembered it was too late - everyone had left! I called the following Monday and spoke with the salesman who said hed arrange to have my deposit mailed to me. I know youll be surprised to hear I didnt receive anything after a week. I called again and was told Id have it that week. Guess what? No check again. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. I heard back within a few days from the main office and was told that the salesman no longer worked for them and apologized profusely. I received my deposit back in a few days and the BBB case was closed. Bottom line: If I had poor credit, little money and desperate for a car no matter what, I probably would have bought that car. Im sure I would have been unhappy dealing with repairs after the fact. They would have been considered repairs covered by the warranty instead of repairs before delivery. They did not do their own mechanic work either and I view that as another set of potential problems. With a 30 day warranty, the time would be up quickly and me with a car that was not only not prepared before delivery, but subject to other issues they may arise after. For these reasons, I rated this dealer poorly and dont recommend stopping by (unless youre desperate). Chances are they will get you into a car, any car.
