NO WARRANTIES AND NO DEALS. REI is no longer what it used to be. REI used to be a great place. Ive lost most of my faith in REI. They no longer honor their "100% satisfaction guarantee". I tried to EXCHANGE an umbrella MADE BY REI, which failed (a support snapped) and they would not honor it. I understand that people abused it and I have no problem with them not having a 100% guarantee, but stop advertising that you you do. Adding a clause about useful life and normal wear and tear and having to have a proof of purchase is not a 100% guarantee. I have been a member since 2005 and have an REI credit card which I use on all my REI purchases. They failed to get this umbrella on to my member account and thus have no record of my purchasing this umbrella. And on that basis they denied to honor any type of warranty because they "cant tell what I paid for it". Why does that matter? The product failed, its REI branded, and you want to blame me because your workers failed to get it onto my membership and I dont have the receipt anymore? Also, the member coupons have become things like $20 off your purchase of $100 or more instead of the old 20% off any one item. That drastically increases what I normally have to spend to use the coupon and if I spend a penny over $100 Im no longer getting 20% off. The whole value of REI vs online retailers like Back Country, Moosejaw, etc. was the guarantee and the occasional deal. Now you have NO WARRANTY at RETAIL PRICE. Tell me why I would buy anything anymore? Im not going to pay retail, to get the same guarantee as online, while having to fight traffic and lines when I can get the same thing, often for much less, delivered straight to my door.

6-28-2016 Awesome Store and Gear! Sales people very knowlegable of Equipment! ie. Hiking Boots-explained how the GORE-TEX works, keeping water out and allow sweat to escape! Also traction and grip, even how to tie them to help set your foot down into the boot! Their attitude shows their experiance and knowlege and they really privide information for you to deceide what will work best for you! They carry an awesome selection of gear for Cycling, Kayaking, Hiking, Climbing, Camping, Backpacking & Running! This REI store is 68 miles from home, but I will be back many times!

I slightly prefer this location to the one in Columbia. I think they have more stuff on clearance at any given time (why pay full price if you dont have to?) than the Columbia location. Other than that, all of the REIs in the area are about the same. The staff are fairly knowledgeable and helpful and dont immediately ask you if youre an REI member as youre walking through the door anymore.

I am amazed at how helpful and knowledgeable the staff are here. In particular I was looking at down jackets, and its nice to see employees know more than the research I did online. I was super happy with my shopping experience here multiple times. Its well worth being a member, $20 for life, so be sure to sign up and save.

Exceptional service. Recently purchased a Yakima Cargo Box online, but needed it earlier for a weekend adventure (couldnt wait for delivery to store). No problem. Manager helped me get the gear I needed, when I needed it, without any hesitation. Awesome team. Awesome products. Love coming here for my gear.

The staff was always on their smartphones checking if an article is available online and told me to go to their website. When I responded that I know their website but I am in the shop for several reasons (try articles on, get it straight away...) they became very rude and disrespectful.

Dropped of a bike for service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who listened and suggested the least expensive option. I didnt feel like I was working with a salesperson trying to get me to spend more money. I also appreciate that REI has a reduced price for co-op members.
