Since purchasing my car two years ago from (Jim)James Boratenski, I have been thoroughly impressed by the courteous friendly service and attention to the needs of this customer. Im a woman in my 60s who has often experienced borderline rudeness, dismissiveness and poor service by car dealerships and mechanics in my past. That is most certainly not the case with the team at Herb Gordon Subaru. From the very beginning when I purchased my car from Jim Boratenski he took the time to find out what I was looking for and then showed me in detail how the new electronics worked. He was lovely and when hes seen me there for service, hes said hello. Over on the service side they are scrupulously clean and organized. They have Wi-Fi, donuts, coffee and shopping bags. Okay, the real reason to be there is for the exemplary service. Most of the time I have worked with Ken Hanscom, the Assistant Service Manager. As I mentioned previously my past experience with car people has been a complete let down. Ive quite frankly felt used and taken advantage of. That is not at all the case with the Herb Gordon Subaru team. The service team, but most especially Ken Hanscom, has been respectful, helpful and wonderful with their service. Recently I scheduled the 15,000 mile service, but somehow I missed the allotted time. They called. I was embarrassed for messing up, but they told me to come on down. I got there over an hour late. They took the car anyway and told me that it would take about three hours before they could finished it. I asked if they could drive me home. Because I messed up, they didnt have anyone free to do that. I told them not to worry as it was my fault. I would wait. Fancy my surprise that Ken Hanscom walked up to me about an hour later to tell me that my car was done. I couldnt believe it. My car had been beautifully serviced, washed and appeared vacuumed. I am so grateful that my business is honestly appreciated. I never want to go anywhere else. Thank you Herb Gordon Subaru for a superlative team in an extraordinary facility.

In all the years I have been buying cars, I have never had the pleasant experience I had with Herb Gordon Subaru. Ive owned 14 cars, and Subaru itself is the only Brand I intentionally sought out to purchase again. I emailed the internet rep what I was looking for, and he (Gary Grace) promptly got back to me with the information I had requested. I was able to go in the next day for a test drive, but Gary was gone for the day. Charles helped me out, and after a few minutes of giving him the basics of my price point, and non-negotiables on options, he found 2 cars that fit the bill. I drove both the crosstrek, and the Forrester. The crosstrek was a fun, sporty, firm ride. The Forrester was roomy, had good pick up, and more options for the same price point. I asked Charles to have Dave, the sales manager, run the numbers on both to help me decide. In less than 15 minutes they had the prices in front of me. In less than two hours I was able to go in, give them the info they needed to help me, test drive, get my numbers, and make my deal. I was beat from a long day, and didnt want to stay to finalize everything, so I asked Charles if I could leave a deposit to hold the vehicle until the morning. No deposit necessary! Charles did a courtesy hold for me until the next morning, no questions asked. At no point during my visit did I feel pressured, have anxiety, or think they were doing the normal dealership trickery to get you to buy. I dont normally service my vehicles at a dealer, but Ill give Herb Gordon my service because they earned my business in an honest, stress free way. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you think they are paying people to write good reviews for them (as someone above hinted at) you are so far off base. These guys earn great reviews by being great at the customer service experience! Ill be back again and again, because I know Im not going to stop buying new cars, and I know they are not going to stop being a great experience.

I reluctantly admit to being a “high-maintenance” customer, when I visit Silver Spring, MD Subaru I am treated like a rock star. My visit started with Alex, a helpful technician greeting me and registering my car. Rodney, my previous service associate promptly came out to “just say hello.” We are a proud Subaru family. Previously, Herb Gordon Subaru quickly and efficiently replaced my recalled airbag with exceptional service. (See previous review.) Recently, I mistakenly brought in my second Subaru believing that it had the same recall. Although, my Subaru did not have the recall, the staff exceptionally understood my misunderstanding and reassured me that my mistake was not an inconvenience. They even offered to do an oil change and multipoint inspection. Fortunately, they discovered my burned out tail light, notified me including the price and found the time to make the unscheduled repair. (Thus not only insuring my safety, but also preventing a potential safety citation.) I am a tireless advocate of text-free/hands free cellular use while driving. Before I even leave the parking lot, I make sure that my navigation system is both programed and accurately working. After several failed tries, I had not only one, but two employees come to correctly program my cell phone into the car’s media center. Although I felt that I was inconveniencing the employees with a relative simple task, both of them assured me multiple times that they were happy to help me. Wow! Lori completed was welcoming, quick and friendly. In addition, the service manager, Ken, came over to make sure that all my concerns had been addressed. In today’s environment of impersonal, ineffective and sometimes rude customer service-Herb Gordon Subaru is a shining example of the exceptional service experience. I do not feel like a “customer” when I visit Herb Gordon Subaru, I feel like a guest.

GEORGE AND SUBARU!!! AWESOME!!!! Just got my new car yesterday. 1st of all, I was supposed to go to another dealership that shall remain nameless because i am not certain of their intentions. I called Herb Gordon Subaru when I saw that they had a blue toyota yaris. I was gonna go with a chevy from another dealership, but just before it was time for me to go there, I gave Herb Gordon a call. I was connected to GEORGE. George was very kind on the phone and didnt seem too aggressive which I liked. I informed George that I was already qualified for a vehicle at that other dealership. George did a credit check and informed me that there were NO bank inquiries on my record, so therefore, the other dealership didnt approve me for ANYTHING!!!! At this point I was just going to buy a pair of rollerskates, but George reassured me that they werent liars at this dealership and they have a practice of no-haggle pricing. ITS TRUE!!! George called me back with a REAL approval and offered the same price for the vehicle that was online. When I arrived everyone was SO nice and helpful. George was seriously such a sweetheart. He is very good at his job. I was very comfortable and got the vehicle that I have been dreaming about for almost 2 years. They also have excellent insurance options and on top of that, the Subaru dealership has a hookup with some insurance company that will be cheaper than my initial purchase. Subaru really takes care of their customers. Also the financing officer was EXCELLENT. He didnt rush, he explained everything carefully, and he handled the heat from my Jamaican father. My dad showed up with his car dealership armor, and come to find out, he didnt even need it. Thank you so much everyone there, and I will definitely be coming back for my next vehicle!
