Definitely somewhere you want to go for a really good pampering. Not somewhere Id go on a regular basis because it is pricey, but the atmosphere makes it well worth going on those few special occasions. Ive been there twice so far - once during my first pregnancy for a prenatal massage, and once to accompany a friend to get her prenatal massage (I got a facial this time). Both times the experience were enjoyable and relaxing. (My friend LOVED it.) I advise any one who goes to get there at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time so you get the extra/full pampering in their waiting/lounge room - I was late for my first experience and missed out on the brownies and warm neck towel... but the second time I was able to enjoy it. =D (their brownies are deeeelicious!) There was some kind of a confusion the time I went with my friend - she was supposed to get an hour long massage and I was supposed to get a 30 minute facial... they got it mixed up and gave her a 30 minute massage and me an hour long facial. I wanted to make sure my friend was reimbursed in some form because she was supposed to be the star of the day and I had been the one to get the longer treatment, so I explained the problem. They were a bit reluctant to fix the wrong... but after being a bit stubborn in leaving quickly (I promise I wasnt rude. I was just adamant about getting my friend some kind of reimbursement) they eventually gave my friend a $25 gift certificate for a future session. (This is the reason for 4 stars, not 5... Id expect them to provide better customer service for a mistake they made.) But it wasnt a bad enough experience that Id stop going... Im actually planning to go this month because my second baby is due. =D

My husband and I love going to The Pearl. Whether we are stopping in to shop in their boutique or going in for treatments, the staff is always friendly and helpful. But what really sets the pearl apart is their commitment to customer service. You want to get to the pearl early so that you can sit in the lounge room. Being there is that soothing and relaxing. We would try to get there 1 hour to 30 minutes before any appointment so that we could go to the steam room shower and then relax in our robe while having a cup of tea, juice or water. The lovely and relaxing interior with separate, equally well-appointment waiting areas for men and women are a comfortable and is a relaxing way to wait for treatments to start or to chill out for a little while and after treatments before heading out. The locker room/restroom area (at least on the womens side) could benefit from “fix yourself up after a treatment" stations with hair dryers, hair products, etc. We have especially enjoyed the packages for two with massages and a soak in a hydrotherapy tub, the Blue Grotto basically, you and your loved one go in, paint each other up with various clays and then go into the steam room to relax. One of my favorite treatment is the Hammam vichy, add the Hawaiian Rapture massage. For facial I love the absolute Pearl. The Pearl might be a bit pricey, but the whole atmosphere makes it worthwhile. The services range from expected to unusual, but each treatment/services that Ive done has been very good and the aestheticians polite and professional.

I visited The Pearl yesterday for the first time for a Summer Bliss Massage with therapist, Melissa. WOW! It was so therapeutic and restorative. Just what I needed and Priscillas skill, demeanor and responsiveness to my requests were exemplary and so appreciated! This is a LOVELY SPA. Truly designed for sensual comfort and ease. All the colors, scents and sounds coordinate beautifully to create an oasis of peace and relaxation. The Ladies Lounge was a fantastic oasis to rest between treatments, be nourished by delectable complimentary treats ( Wow that Mimosa was DELICIOUS!) and even to catch up with old and new friends. Every staff member was so helpful and welcoming from the moment I entered the spa I felt very welcome and cared for. I also loved that there were robes available to fit all sizes and complimentary combs, brushes and other amenities in the bathroom as Id forgotten those things. It will DEFINITELY be my go-to spa in the future and I will HIGHLY recommend it to my friends!

Ive tried 5 or so spas in the Howard County area and this one is by far the best. I actually recently moved to Northern VA and still make the trek up to Maryland to visit The Pearl...that is how amazing it is. First off, ambience is SUPER important to me when I visit a spa. From the moment I walk in the door, I like to feel like Im going on a mental retreat. The Pearl is clean, modern and has amazing facilities. After putting my personal belongings in the locker, I head into their lovely waiting room which features warm neck wraps, hot tea, a waterfall wall, zen music, etc. I usually show up to my appointments an hour in advance JUST to experience the relaxation that is this waiting room. As far as services, I have only gotten their facials...but they are reasonably priced and so well done. Visit here...you wont regret it!

The manager (Sharon Church) has a nasty attitude and was very condescending!!! Her customer service was horrible I couldnt believe it. I have never had such a horriable experience and I have been coming here for years! Especially after spending almost $200 on a service. They must be under new management as I have been getting services at The Pearl for several years and they were always so accomodating. With this manager I felt so uncomfortable when I left that I had to call afterwards to express my desire to continue to get my spa services at the Pearl but expressed how I was not satisfied with the customer service, today. She totally blew me off! Clearly she does believe in good customer service and keeping her loyal customers!

When this spa first opened, it was the best spa that I have ever been to - including spas on resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean.. I have to say that this place just keeps surprising me how awful it has become. The aestheticians are knowledgeable but keep pushing products down my throat. I am not sure the reason, but the facials are not as good as they used to be - one time, the lady obviously did not know how to perform extractions. I have had them many times, and am used to the pinch, but she HURT! She just quit the extractions after I had tears streaming down my face. The staff at the front is rude and unprofessional. The brownies are great though!! My advice - spend your money elsewhere!!

Just tried to make reservation, the receptionist asked for the credit card number to reserve the spot. I told her I am not comfortable to give out my credit card number over the phone and she told me I cannot even make reservation without credit card number. I told her I had gift certificate that she can put against my reservation, but she said unless the gift certificate amount covers the entire service fee, I cannot do that. I wonder if they are willing to take FULL responsibility if my credit card number gets compromised.... Im okay with the idea of putting "some" money to reserve the appts but what they are asking is unreasonable and quite irresponsible. Good luck with your business.
