I went there just a couple of days ago, Friday to be exact (June 19th) to get my first tattoo as a birthday gift for my 21st birthday. When I walked through the door I was welcomed by a very nice woman which she asked me what I was coming in there for and was trying to get another person/artist to talk to me. I wanted to get a script tattoo (maybe combine it with another one) on my arm close to my wrist and she was saying that it wuld take up most of my left forearm, which I didnt believe so because I had a picture of the exact tattoo and it wasnt even that big. So I figured well maybe Ill get another tattoo, a smaller one which wuld be on my right wrist and she frowned a little, telling me to get what I want..but of course I knew she was trying to get the tattoo that would cost more..(which is fine, I know they have to make money). But what through me off was the guy who came out to talk to me. I was asking about the script tattoo and he said it would be the same area, I tried to ask another question about maybe feeling the needle before I decide to do the whole tattoo (it was a long shot, but some places allow this) maybe even a little line to see if I could handle it, but before I could even finish asking the question he cuts me off saying "no" and laughs, which in my case is very disrespectful. He goes back to tell me to continue just to say "no, I already knew what you were gonna say" and laughs again. Obviously Im new to getting a tattoo, I was trying to do my very best in doing research on it. My friend who had her tatts done there said it was good (apparently she had them done 2 years ago, under a different management I think- Bears Den). But if Im gonna get something permanent on my skin and Im paying money for it, I should at least be treated with respect. After thinking about it for some time I decided to tell the nice woman that I changed my mind and she said "ok, well just come back when youve decided on which one you wanna get" and I left. I went to a different place and got a second opinion and what I wanted for the right price. If you want something huge, then this is the right place for you, but if you want something that small/medium then this is definitely not it.

The service at the Best of Time Tattoos and Body Piercing is TERRIBLE! If optional I would give them no stars. My boyfriend and I went to Best of Time Tattoos and Body Piercing on January 5, 2016. We got there at 12:20pm because John told my boyfriend to be there at 12:30pm. Upon arriving this heavyset guy greeted us and my boyfriend said he was there to get his tattoo done. The heavyset guy looked confused and my boyfriend proceeded to say that he sent his design through email for John. The manager said "okay let me go take a look at it." He left us outside in the waiting area for 30 minutes before another guy with dreads came out and said "is this the tattoo that you wanted?" He showed my boyfriend the design and the overall drawing of the photo was horrific. My 1 year old cousin could draw better than what the guy with the dreads showed us. My boyfriend was very calm and said yes and the guy said okay what did John tell you the price would be? My boyfriend said 75$ and the dude with the dreads said "OH NO! NOT THIS!" The other guy came out and said "Yeah dude this tattoo is not 75$ off the back we would charge 200$" My boyfriend said okay well you can call John and ask him because thats what he told me. The manager and the other dude said well John will be here in 5 minutes. So, we sat and waited for another 10 minutes. During that duration of time the manager and the guy were both discussing very loudly and rudely how they will not accept 75$ and how this design of the tattoo is way more. Finally, John showed up and came out and acted like he had amnesia. My boyfriend explained further that he came January 4, 2016 and spoke with John and John told him 75$. John said oh well dude I didnt know you meant this and the manager came out and said yeah dude this is again a 200$ tattoo. John then went on to say "oh I can give you a 75$ tattoo if you want." (meaning the tattoo would suck from the way he was saying it) At that point my boyfriend and I were just ready to leave. Being a former manager in retail the customer service and management is very poor. The staff is highly unprofessional. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BAD TATTOOS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Ive been here twice for two tattoos: one correction and one new one. For the correction, the guys were very helpful in helping me figure out exactly how to fix the tattoo. It was an older tattoo that I had gotten from a friend that didnt heal correctly. They helped figure out exactly what colors would work best with my complexion in the context of the tattoo itself, and it really turned out great! For my second tattoo, I came to them with a design that I had created myself. We had a bit of disagreement on color and sizing, with me wanting it a lot smaller than they suggested. However, I decided to give their idea a shot (because I didnt feel like going anywhere else since I had a great experience last time). Im actually REALLY happy I went with the larger size. I feel as though my design could have easily be done smaller, but would not have worked as well. The smaller details may have been lost. Although I was originally perturbed by how blunt they were about not doing the design as I wanted it, I appreciate it now because I feel it shows that they do care about the end result and not just getting your money. The only reason I give 4 stars is because, well, no one is perfect lol. I do think that the "customer service" (for lack of better word) could improve a bit. Maybe be a weeeee bit nicer? But I also understand that they take their work seriously, ya know? They probably get a bit irritated with demanding clients coming in and trying to get them to do things they may not be 100% comfortable with because they know it may not turn out as well as the client thinks. Ill definitely be coming back for a 3rd tattoo, and more. :) Thanks again!

I went in just last night, a Wednesday, for a walk-in tattoo. On weekdays, they close at 9:00PM, but John stayed working on my tattoo for a full hour after closing, almost 4 hours total. This was my first ever tattoo by the way, and John is an amazing artist! He actually did my wifes tattoo the week before. I thought the lines and colors looked really smooth, so I came back after choosing a very complex design because he seemed really skilled. Afterwards, I was left with an amazing shoulder tattoo (again my first ever)! John also provides great company as he works. My wife and I talked with him on and off during the session, and it honestly didnt feel like I had been sitting for 4 hours with needles stabbing me every few seconds. He is very detail-oriented and was more than capable of dealing with the complex design and adding shading and blended colors. He also applies Saniderm to the tattoo afterwards, which is like hospital plastic wrap/cover for wounds, and provides detailed instructions on tattoo care. Im not sure about the other artists at Best of Time or their piercing services as this is my first time with them. I do highly recommend John though! In my opinion, the pricing is very good. We went to another tattoo shop to price my wifes tattoo, and they were much more expensive. So I was confident that the price that John gave was appropriate. In fact, it was under because of the extra time required on the tattoo. I really appreciate the extra effort. You know an artist takes pride in their work when they immediately go to snap a pic of the finished piece on their phones too! Thanks again, John!
