I like The Fresh Market very much and actually frequent two of them, this one in Annapolis MD (close to where I live) and the one in Rehoboth Beach, DE, where I own a second home. Last Thursday (May 18th) I purchased a number of items from the Annapolis store, including a 64 oz. bottle of Organic Black Tea. That evening I drank about one-third of the bottle. Later that evening I developed abdominal cramps and spent the night with diarrhea. My wife did not get ill. The ONLY difference in our diets that day was the ice tea from Fresh Market. The next morning I checked the expiration date on the bottle of ice tea and it was Feb. 21, 2017 - THREE MONTHS prior to my purchasing it. I did an Internet search and sure enough a lot of comments about bacterial growth in ice tea, even in bottles never opened, and the importance of drinking it prior to the expiration date. I called the store to have the bottles removed so no one else would get ill. I spoke with the store manager. He was very apologetic and assured me that the next time I was in the store they would refund the cost of the ice tea (doesnt that go without saying!). I write this review to caution all others to check the expiration dates. One can argue that I should have done it myself but I would have thought that at a store of the quality of Fresh Market that they would ensure that they were selling only the highest quality items.

i have been shopping at our Annapolis Fresh Market since the day it opened. I buy most of my meat here and have experienced only top notch service and care by the butchers. i basically shop the entire store. I love the higher quality unique product lines. So refreshing to NOT have the same old stuff. Shopping at Fresh Market is far more personal and a super pleasant experience. Every line they carry is of better quality than the run-of-the-mill chain stores - which i loathe. Of course it is not as cheap as the chains, and do not expect it to be like the chains. things are a bit slower here, more peaceful and charming. Go for the quality(!) Go for the special products, for for the meat. If all you want is middle of the road cheap stuff do not bother. Fresh Market is better than all the chains put together and just slightly down a notch from Whole Foods. But the small size and intimate feel, and high quality meats, produce and packaged goods cannot be beat. A truly refreshing experience!

They dont do busy very well. Particularly at the meat counter. When its slow, and the right people are there, you can get great service. However, today, the meat market manager [duane?] kept moving his customers orders ahead of ours. The tenderloin we picked out was given to someone else, and the cut of meat we eventually got and the butchering were far below standard. They gave us a break on the price, but when I come to a place like The Fresh Market, I pay a bit extra for better quality and better service. They need to be better organized and treat all of their customers equally.

Talking to a manager was like being on hold for 2 hours, then the voice recording system comes out to speak to you, after hitting 0 a million times you get the operator who assures you your being transferred then hangs up on you. Its a horrible place to work at, was there for a year then let go when it was time for a raise. I took less crap when I was in the Army, do not work here!

Its clean but the selection is limited and its quite expensive. No vegetarian sandwiches, no hot buffet. But by far the most irritating feature are the cashiers. They are in *no* hurry. I waited 10 minutes for the cashier to finish the two people ahead of me. They chat and reposition items in bags in artistic ways, no rush. If you dont mind this, its for you.

Fresh fruits and vegetables, fantastic selection of meats, and you will find a lot of brands that arent as wide spread but is still a good quality. I like buying the different flavored drinks and trying pretty much anything new. The employees are very helpful and the style is always well stocked.

We ordered their continental breakfast trays and fruit trays for a work function and they were fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Everyone was very impressed! The staff was great to work with and really pleasant (hard to find that combo these days). I would highly recommend them!

My favorite grocery store! It has fresh food, but you also can get "normal" product here as well so that youre not having to hit two or three stores just to get all of your groceries. Its always peaceful in there, unlike the frenzy at Whole Foods or the grind at Giant, during peak hours.

The Fresh Market is a great market if youre looking for high quality food with some variety. They offer pretty much any kind of specialty item and items for folks with specific diet needs. I have not met one employee who wasnt nice and engaging and parking is never an issue.

The $20 meal kits cant be beat. Eight hotdogs, potato salad, fruit salad, buns and cookies for twenty dollars! Amazing! Some things can be overpriced but the quality of the produce is excellent. Try the Molten Chocolate cofee. To die for.

Wish I lived next door. Unparalleled fresh veggies, meats, bread, with mouth watering takeout, inclusion fresh sushi. Best ambience of all markets, from decor, lighting, to classical music. Turns a grocery run into a delight!

Customer service is seriously lacking. The prices of Whole Foods but not the quality.
