My son and I look forward to making the weekly drive from South Portland to Biddeford. Why? First, they post 2 weeks worth of flyers online so you can pre-plan easily. Seconmdly, and MORE importantly, because WE SAVE A TON OF $$$ (for say, $140 we spend at MB, wed spend $180-$200 or MORE @ Shaws or WallyWorld and would have less of a selection and an INFERIOR QUALITY of meats and produce from which to choose),. The bottom line: at MARKETBASKET, you CONSISTENTLY get quality produce and can choose from a huge variety of brands and specialty items that the big "superstore" or the (sadly) failing Shaws fail to offer. A PLus: MARKETBASKET staff are AVAILABLE and always happy to help! WallyWorld , on the other hand, I feel sorry for their staff. They typically seem so miserable ...or indifferent, that is, when you can FIND them! KUDOS to MARKETBASKET! MK, South Portland, ME

Stopped at Biddeford Market Basket on my way through town I live in South Portland, and Dont usually go to Biddeford. They are a fantastic store I went in to get Folgers coffee that I seen on Sale in the paper. And ended up Grocery Shopping there. I have to say The experience was phenomenal! Im a food person A food Lover , The freshness Blows your mind. It appears There is Not a store Not even Dunkin Donuts That can compare in The Freshness Flavor Locking Mouth watering food sensations. I love the prices They are reasonable NOT to High I love the freshness The people were compassionate and caring Very helpful KEEP UP THE GOODWORK MARKET BASKET !!!!!!! COME BRING YOUR STORE TO SOUTH PORTLAND ME OR SCARBROUGH PAYNE RD WHERE WALMART IS...... BRING IT ON TO COMPETE ON A BUSLINE YOU SHOULD BRING IT WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!

This is an absolutely wonderful store. During Friday, saturday, and Sunday business hours expect it to be increasingly busy especially during the summer months as Biddeford sits in between two of biggest tourist hubs in southern Maine (Kennebunkport & Old Orchard Beach/Saco). Although it can be very busy, you will never be disappointed with your customer service and it will never be understaffed like Wal-Mart. The associates will always help you, and will be pleased to do it. They have a great variety of all types of brands although I wish sometimes they carried more. Also, the store is unbelievably huge, you wont be disappointed. My family and I do all our big grocery shops here and have not had a bad experience yet. Produce, deli, and meat market have great products and there is always great deals on top of already big savings. Enjoy.

I really like Market Basket and I am very happy that they located in Biddeford. Unfortunately I have experienced restocking issues which I feel must be management inattention. When I worked at a grocery store years ago I always made sure stock was kept up in whatever department I worked depending on personnel requirements. Prepared food does not get restocked in a timely manner, and the registers dont all have enough paper bags at this store which indicates a lack of attention to detail. I have also had to bring attention to other items that were popular enough to run out regularly. I really wish my favorite store was run better.

Prices average out to be a little higher than their competitors once considering decent deli meat is $10/lb (a good $2/lb more than Shaws and Hannaford), and higher prices which is offset by somewhat lower regular prices. Quality is often lower than other stores, and Ive caught them sourcing produce from China during times in which veggies should be in plentiful supply from local sources. I also notice that tomatoes often come from Mexico while Backyard Farms (a local company that grows tomatoes year round) is nearby.

Love the prices.. the store is clean. One thing Ive noticed is the decline in the politeness of the clerks in the past few months. I was there last week and the clerk Griffin did not greet me and was talking about someone who was a "pedo" with another clerk. This week I was there and the clerk was screaming over to another clerk who was shoving my cart into me to get by. If I want that kind of treatment I will take my business to Walmart from now on since it is closer and the prices are about the same.

The best food and sundry store in Maine! I drive between two and three times a month to shop in Biddeford and a round trip from Monmouth takes just under four hours. BUT its worth it for the variety of the freshest fruits, vegetables and meats, AND for the savings when compared to Hannafords or Shaws. Only wish they were closer either to Lewiston or Augusta.

The prices are great the staff go out of their way to make sure your service needs are meet. They have a food tasting center were they will give out samples to try. Its a large store but great deals through out the entire store. Great produce and bakery. They also have a kitchen where you can purchase an entire meal at awesome prices.

This market basket is the only one I know of in Maine.. I grew up with them in my home state of Massachusetts.. They are buy far my favorite supermarket I have a nice Hannafords just down the street from my home. However they can not compare on price or selection and I drive 20 Minutes further to get to Market Basket!!

Market Basket is the best. We drive 3 hours each way to get to the store in Biddeford and spend $300 plus dollars each time. We save lots of $$$ after accounting for time, gas and great prices. We wish the flyers could be online. It would make shop[ping alot easier. Is there anyway to get on the mailing list??.

Please keep your stock people off the aisles on a busy Saturday!! And for goodness sake, PLEASE teach your baggers how to BAG!!! its not rocket science. We always put the cold items up on the belt first, right after our bags (2 of which are for cold items) and they dont understand this??

Not the prettiest grocery store; it has a very dated look, which is somewhat intentional. BUT you cannot compete with the prices and the wide selection of products. Im exceptionally impressed with their large list of organic products and certain items that I cant find anywhere else.

Great prices. Lowest cost for many deli items in Maine. Frequent loss leader lobster sales (like 5.99!) Beautiful store. Walmart should send their managers here to work as stockboys so they can learn how to properly keep a high volume grocery store well stocked!

I shop at market basket on a weekly basis. Only pet peeve of mine is your deli dept. The employees NEVER ask how I would like the meat sliced!! The chicken especially is SO thin its hard to make a decent sandwich!! Why are they all in such a damn hurry!!!

It is worth a 85 mile trip from Boothbay region down to Biddeford Maine. To do a large shopping of groceries. Hoping that they will build a Market Basket up in the mid coast region of Maine. Prefer Rockland call Damariscotta areas.

I first shopped at Market Basket in Massachusetts. When I heard they were opening a store in Biddeford I didnt waste anytime checking it out. This store is great. Great prices, great produce, great bakery. I give it 5-stars!
