Freeport, ME is unbelievably fortunate to have something most communities would give their left arm for--a great, locally-owned and operated food market. The Bow, as the kids call it, has a solid selection of typical grocery needs at prices that are the same and sometimes better than the chain groceries. In addition, however, it has a traditional, old-school butcher shop with locally grown meats from Wolfes Neck Farm and Paul and others behind the counter dispensing good counsel on meat cuts, grilling ideas, baseball and more. There are also great prepared foods--the meatballs are a weekly fav in our household as is their homemade, awesome chicken salad. If youre visiting Freeport from out of town, and dont feel like trying one of our great restaurants, there are all kinds of choices for meals to go. Seasonally, they carry locally-grown fruits and vegetables. The Bow also has a full liquor store and great wine selection. Highly recommended.

Bow Street Market is an amazing place to visit. A local independent grocery store that strives to have as many local products as possible. The meat case is huge and full of choices and the produce has always been the freshest Ive had. There is always an employee available to help you decide or find any beer/wine/liquor that youd like. Plus the fresh made sandwiches and burgers are delicious! Bow Street Market helps out customers with special orders, including ordering any keg that is available to them. This is a must for locals and tourists alike.

Bow St Market has always been a favorite of ours in the many years we have vacationed in Freeport, Maine. From morning coffee and sweets, to hot or cold lunch selections, to delicious meats, fish and vegetables for dinner, everything is perfectly displayed and easy to locate in the intimate and friendly store. Aside from the yummy selections, their wine and liquor section holds some of the finest and tastiest liquors. A great choice of Maine brewed and distilled beverages. Bow St is a gem that everyone wishes they had in their town. Love it!!!

There are few places on the planet like Bow Street Market! Delighted that its near me. The food choices are fantastic, fresh and of high quality. The people who work/run the market are friendly and accommodating. Clean space. Offers healthy, gluten free, etc options. Their flour less chocolate torte is to die for!

Bow Street is a great market. Their meats, produce and selection are all superior and their prices are reasonable. The Nappi family, who own and operate Bow Street Market, are very supportive of community activities as well! Take a few minutes to shop their many offerings. You will not be disappointed.

Small market, but big on character. Carrying a large selection of local products. Vegetables, fruits and artisan breads, milk and milk products, as well as local raised and processed beef, pork and chicken. Organic, free range, grass fed. Their meat and deli counter are second to none. The best!

A wonderful place to find local food and service, staffed with community members who understand the importance of buying local. The butcher shop is going to be a great feature and I cant wait to see the wine selection. Looking forward to all the progress!

I love this Market! I remember when it was on the wayside of Bow Street, a much smaller scale market, now gone gourmet. I also love the fact that the market is open so early in the morning. It helps with my busy schedule. Thank you Bow Street!

This is a great local market with friendly staff, butcher shop and bakery. Its small but our choice over the large stores for most things. When we went there on a Sunday in December they had a local quartet playing holiday music. It was a treat.

Nice little market to stop at and get fresh local produce. Most of the prices are on the high side for local farmed goods but none the less nice little spot. I did note that they close at 8pm during the week.

High quality, great selection - prepared food is a life saver! I might be a bit picky on this point - but customer service is a hit-or-miss. A kind word or quick hello is never wasted, as they say.

A lovely alternative to big supermarkets, that still has everything youd need and more. Good deli section (coleslaw, especially) and a huge beer and cider cooler.

Terrific quality meat and fish, with fair prices. Other items found a bit expensive. Produce bit tired. Will, however, go again for meat, poultry and seafood.
