Petsmart here is awesome because the people really know what theyre talking about. We were looking for some food for our cat to prevent more urinary tract infections (shed had four before we got her food) and the people knew exactly what would work for her. The same goes for their fish. When I was looking for some fish for my aquarium, the attendant was very knowledgeable and gave me some very good tips on taking care of the fish. The store is always very well kept and organized and smells very clean despite having birds, fish, cats, dog adoption events twice a week, allowing visitors dogs to come in, dog training, geckos, and loads of other amphibians. Everybody knows what theyre talking about, the store is always fully stocked, and you can bring your dogs in (on a leash) so that you wont have to leave them in the car while you get stuff. Dog leashes, collars, toys, beds, and dishes are seemingly endless, theres a plethora of cat toys and litters and boxes, and theres more than enough supplies for fish, frogs, rabbits, birds, geckos, and other animals. I love this Petsmart as it is the best pet supply store around.

WARNING READ BEFORE PURCHASING ANY FISH FROM THIS STORE! Me and my dad recently purchased three Denison Barbs from this store and the first night they were introduced to the tank they seemed to be doing fine and now a week later everything in his tank has died. We have checked all levels in the tank including oxygen, ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, temperate, and so fourth. Our fish experienced bubbles on their bodies, and our healthiest fish that have been in the tank for close to 9 months died (some costing in upwards of $30-$40 each) the total loss of the tank was close to $200 in fish from the purchase of 3 small fish from this store. If you are serious about your aquarium and wish to keep your existing fish alive I DO NOT recommend this store.

If you need feeder food, you can only get it on Thursdays. They dont stock up enough to meet their demand though the week. Not to mention their trucks are Tuesday and thursday. If you need anything on Monday, your going to be out of luck because their trucks are too close together. I went in on Wednesday, in between the trucks thinking this would be a good time. No, I was wrong. They had maybe 10 crickets (not enough), and they said that they "havent had feeder fish in a while". What do you mean a while? You just stopped stocking it even though you sell things that eat them as a regular diet? I will be driving to lexington for my pets needs from now on I guess since they cant be bothered to do an inventory before they order their trucks.

When you walk in, the person at the register closest to the door will ALWAYS take time to acknowledge you and welcome you into the store. That sets the tone for the rest of the process of moving through the aisles. Every aisle is nearly always full, faced, fronted, and looks beautiful. Its maintained very well. The prices are reasonable, however they are better when they have the "buy xx dollars, get a x.00 coupon to use later" :) Depending on what weekend day you go, you can sometimes sit in a line for a few minutes, but nothing horrible. Only wish I have for them, is to put more cat products out, such as games, toys, etc. Otherwise, this place is always my go-to for any pet needs.

This is our usual petsmart so were used to an in and out affair. Yesterday we decided to adopt a kitten. The associate who helped us out was very knowledgeable and kind. I was impressed with the coupons they offer when you adopt - we saved a bunch on a new cat tree and got quite a bit of free cat food. The only issue was that there was some confusion over who we had to see to pay the cash/check-only cat fee. The cashier didnt know he could accept it, but it was only a minor delay. Very happy with the help we received and our new family member!

I needed a quick fix for my filthy dog, after a bungled appointment at another groomer. I called PetSmart, and they got my dog in in under an hour. Unlike other groomers, PetSmart checks vaccinations before accepting animals. I think this is great! Erica took care of me, and she was the very definition of "professional." She finished earlier than promised and was eager to communicate with me to ensure customer satisfaction. And... the service was cheaper than any other place Ive found. Highly recommend this place!

Great store, wonderful selection of products and I also love their Groomers! I volunteer for a dog rescue and I am always pleased with how friendly and accommodating the managers and staff are to all the rescues. I know it isnt easy to listening to the commotion and barking but they are providing a service that facilitates the rescuing of so many animals! I adopted one of my dogs at this location. We bring him back for shopping, treats and grooming. Thank You Nicholasville PetSmart Managers and Staff!

Had a terrible experience the other day with a woman at the fish counter who had quite an attitude towards me when I asked for fish. She proceeded to tell me how I must be a bad fish keeper if I have more than 4 fish in a ten gallon tank. She refused to give me the fish I had chosen to buy. She snapped at some kids. For being too close to the glass while watching the fish. I almost asked another employee to help me instead of her because she was so sassy. Stay away from the red head at the fish counter.

Overwhelming! I love my pets as much as anybody. But do we really need 400 kinds of dog food. All those poor kitties and puppies needing to be adopted out in this heat! And then theres the flea problem! you cannot keep your house flea free for less than $100 a month if you have two pets! I know it sounds paranoid but I think the flea products of last year are feeding them this year. Dont even bother with PetArmor or Frontline. The fleas have supposedly become immune to them.

Trying to make and appointment for my goldendoodle was like dealing with a deaf mute. Took two people and 15 minutes, then two weeks later the appointment wasnt showing up when I called to confirm!!! Then after telling the 4th grader who answered the phone that my dog had been groomed there at least twice before, she couldnt find any record! So I gave up and took my business elsewhere.

We took our german shepherd pup there for the last 8 weeks for beginner training. The trainer there is wonderful. She really seems to know what she is doing. We are now starting intermediate training with them. I have not used the groomers so I can not comment on them. All of my experiences at the store have been positive and the staff I have talked with are very helpful.

The employees are very friendly and willing to assist you. That is not always so easy to come by these days. The store was nice and clean. I do have to say alot of items are too expensive for me. I think the Perks card that they have should give you a discount after your purchases reach a certain amount. The items I buy are rarely on sale.
