I went to the Academy of Sports in Elizabethtown, KY and soon realized customer service representatives need to be retrained. I was looking for cleats for my 9 year old son for football and asked someone for help in measuring his feet, he said to me "the shoe measure was over by one of those benches" instead of assisting me he went back to doing whatever he was doing. Then I find another employee to assist because I couldnt find the foot measure and he was just as bad as the first guy like he had something else better to do. Maybe he did but I work in customer and I just assumed that customers were a top priority especially if the store is not busy, so In just a few words the customer service I received was horrible. I am going to tell everyone I know.....thanks for putting people first !!!!!!

They usually have good sales on Nike shoes. I returned a tent bought a year ago, could hardly read the receipt and it wouldnt scan. The two managers in the customer service department were polite, friendly, professional, and patient. They tried everything including typing the barcode and item number until they were able to refund the price of the tent. Theyre kind of expensive but they do sell expensive brands theyre. Great selection of tents both affordable ones, and ridiculous huge 20 person ones(the kind I returned). Lots of really cool gear in this store!

Academy is by far my favorite store ever to shop at. They always have a clearance section with good prices. They have women, men, girls, and boys clothes and shoes. Everything for sports, camping, fishing, backpacks, guns, canoes,ECT. I recommend everyone to at least go in and check it out.

The shoe department was a disaster. Nobody offered to help and there were boxes of shoes laying everywhere. Rather than put these back one of the guys was literally pushing shoes on the racks about an inch back or forward. One out of three guys appeared to be working, sad.

The only major sports and outdoor supplier currently in the area. Great selection of items, from exercise to camping gear. However, they are a bit pricey and competition is about to get stiff with another sport/outdoor retailer opening in the area.
