Im a big supporter of small businesses so I decided to try out Crestwood meats. I requested a large amount of meat, and the man working never wore gloves, or even washed his hands through the entire process of getting my meat, paying, and sending me out the door. He merely wiped his hands off on his dirty apron. I figured Id give them a second chance because they do have good meat. Went in, and again, NO ONE was wearing gloves out of 7 employees, including the man trimming chicken, and people working the meat counter. When I asked why no one was wearing gloves, one employee responded that because the meat gets cooked, there is no need. This is a fallacy considering the fact that not all of the products they offer are cooked like potato salad and lunch meat. Cross contamination is inevitable. If some meat unknowingly goes bad, all other meats could be infected. If some meat has salmonella, it could easily infect the employees as well. I have never seen a place disregard sanitation so plainly and carelessly. I dont know how the health department can award them an "A". Id shut that place down until they learn proper food handling. I certainly wont be back until proper precautions have been taken.

Best meat and prices around, they are usually packed from door to door. As for the other review on being rude, Im betting a question was asked and answered and the reviewer got his feelings hurt for not "chatting", I can say as a customer nothing pisses me off more than someone on the phone with a list of questions a mile long as if the business they are calling is there for the sole purpose of resolving everyone crisis or helping them learn how to do something. I doubt very seriously the owner was "rude", to the point maybe but they have never been rude to anyone in my presence. some people just need to put their man pants on and not get their feelings hurt so easily. I will always buy my meats from Crestwood Meats, You cant beat their quality or prices and they have great service.

If I could give negative stars I would. I go in this meat store a few times a year and every time I hope its not like the last. They are rude and they talk down to you. If you ask for something they dont have they look at you like you have 10 heads. They shout the prices at you real fast like you have a notebook and pen for stuff not in the case. Every time I leave there, I feel like I paid a lot of money for lack of service and feel belittled. Crestwood meats is the reason why small butchers are going out of business and cannot compete with big box stores. I am done and will never go back. My wife feels the same about this place from from her own instances.

dont you worry about mr crestwood meats needing any business. he was short, rude and unhelpful on the phone as to where I may find some extra pork fat for a recipe. he let me know he doesnt carry fat and was busy and didnt have time to talk on the phone. hint- dont answer the phone if youre not going to display a courteous, friendly and professional quality that should exemplify the way you would treat a customer as if they were face-to-face. Kind of the way I have my secretary treat people whether they are on the phone or in person.

Cool staff. They were more than welcoming to us and they do have specialized cuts of meat like pork belly, shoulder and other things. They have a decent house seasoning called gunpowder which is OK at best but maybe others like it. Prices are what you expect from a butcher in a nice area.

I am a former regular customer. One butcher at this location is consistently rude and impatient. I finally decided not to go back after a particularly inappropriate interaction with him.

We (three family members and myself) ordered their macaroni salad and then got terrible food poisoning from it. When we called to tell them of the ordeal, they seemed not to care.
