My Question = Human Resources Store location = IN Comment = I received a gift card at Christmas and I wanted to make an online order for pick up. I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this location, literally half of items online were not available in store even though it says it is. The manager was not in the least bit helpful. I could tell when I walked in she did not want to help me. The paper invoice printed at the store had incorrect items and when i pointed that out and tried to show her the confirmation email of the actual items i ordered; she first tried to convince me that I indeed ordered the incorrect items, then after realizing she was wrong said the incorrect items they picked out was in the wrong spot and that they were out of the item I actually ordered. Then says dont worry you wont have to pay for it. It is never a quick trip at this location. Absolutely terribly customer service. Also Some items are VERY different in online pictures then what it actually looks like in store. My account was also charged 3 times. It took a couple days to correct itself. I used to come to this joanns quite a bit for supplies for my small business, but between the long lines due to understaffing, and poor management and problem solving skills Im not sure Ill be returing to this location. ***** This was part of a message I sent to joanns hr department in early Feburary. Love Jo-Ann fabrics! But recently Ive came into this location to make the famous no-sew fleece tie blankets for friends and family as gifts, so I have been in joanns quite a bit in the last month in a half. And the last three of my visits I have gotten two yards of fleece fabric cut and each time Ive gotten home my second fabric has been remarkably shorter than my first. The first time this happened I was understanding, it was busy and crowed, lots of people waiting for fabric to be cut, I can understand rushing to get though the line or just a simple mistake. But the last two times I have went to get fabric there were little to no customers in the store. When I got my fabric cut there were two ladies cutting and I was with the third and one person waiting, no rush she said she was off in 5 minutes so I was the last one for her and when I got home my fabric was 4 inches shorter than my first. Its pretty irritating that I pay for two yards for each fabric when Im just eventually cutting the other one down to match. I am just writing this so maybe Joanns will see this and try to fix the problem, I love this store, would really appreciate it getting the problem solved.

I live a little over an hour from this location. I looked online for an item that said in stock. Before I took the drive, I called to verify. The lady put me on hold. After 10 mins I hung up and called back. I was put on hold again. I hung up and called back again. She finally looked up the item number and said "it says we have it" I said "yes maam but can you please verify its there." I was placed on hold AGAIN. This time she pick up, took my phone number and said she had a long line and couldnt go check. Long story short, I drove up there, couldnt find the item, waited in line (20 min line) For them to tell me it was not at the store. About 2 hours later I received a phone call from the lady who took my number, she told me she couldnt find it. ...... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! You just talked to me in person. her response was "yes, but I told you I would call you back." WHAT A JOKE!! VERY disappointed in this store. WASTE OF TIME AND GAS!!!

This Jo-Ann is fairly big, and it has a decent selection of items, but there are some areas that its lacking. Good selection of poly clay, colored jewelry wire (colors, not gauges), and fabric. Poor selection of natural jewelry-making materials (like semi-precious stones), wooden boxes (both in size and price), and paint and brushes. This is in comparison to Michaels, which also has good and bad areas of selection, and these are just the things Ive experienced. To get everything I need for my business, I have to go to both Jo-Ann and Michaels. The staff seems nice and helpful, although I personally prefer wandering around to find what I need. The few times Ive asked, though, they seem knowledgeable on the basics of most of what they carry, and fairly friendly. I wouldnt hesitate to ask if I needed something, and I keep going back for the things they have that Michaels doesnt.

Had an issue with a price not being what was on the shelf. The cashier (Clair Emma) was very understanding and did a price check and it was going to be twice as expensive as I had thought. I did not want it at that price but she asked if I had my phone with me and proceeded to show me a 40% off coupon on line. Which put it back to the price I was originally going to pay! Win! Thanks to her and her VERY good customer skills I walked out very happy with my purchases! Thanks for hiring wonderful people! Nancy Rukes

I like this store they have a great selection but the customer service at the Merrillville location is much better every time I go. Also, Ive been calling for the last 1.5 hours and nobody is answering the phone! I really need something for my sewing machine and live 30 mins away and cant get anyone on the phone to see if they have it. Every time I go there is tons of people working, how can someone not answer the phone?! Very frustrating.

They have a great selection of fabric which I love! Though every time I shop there its 30-45 mins just waiting for the cutting counter which always has 1 person. Then you go to the front, again 1 person at check out. It takes me almost 2hrs to just get my fabric cut and check out. Youd think theyd have more people there on a weekend or holiday sales but nope! This store really needs to hire more people to work!!!

Nice selection, good prices, excellent coupon deals, but employees are extremely scant at times and lines can back up quick due to only 1 or 2 registers being open. Its a fantastic place if you know what you want and have some spare time.

The staff here are very helpful and friendly but lines are always long. Prepare to wait at least 20 minutes to get fabric cut and another 10 minutes to check out. This has been my experience every time in two years.

There is always a line in this place. I went to buy some buttons for a shirt I have and I put them back because there was only 2 cashiers and at least 2o people in line. I dont even waste my time.

Love this Joann store. The only problem is finding help when youre looking for something and checkout is always a wait. Other than that the staff is great and they have most of your craft needs.
