recently bought a shed kit from the Portage store .. received e-mail that shed was in and ready. when i went to pick it up , found that the parts I was I waiting for> ( the frames) were all that was ready.. the other items had yet to be picked from stock and assembled in an area for pick-up. so I had to return a second time to get the rest of the parts. also requested an instruction booklet as advertised with the kit. even though I have put these together before, Im sure there is some subtle little thing . I will forget that I will regret later on in the building.. they could be better versed. also when i went to the Lumber Yard, was a little disappointed that I could not get any help loading the 4 X 4 treated floor beams.. One young man who acted as a supervisor asked if I could use some help and when I confirmed that I it would be appreciated , He stated that he would find someone.. there were two guys on fork trucks in the same building.. he walked off , past the two employees and out of the building.. never saw him again.. What you gonna do.. ????

Please notice the 5 star reviews are generic and arent actual reviews. I noticed that after seeing they jumped up from one star to 4. Most likely it is there employees who were requested to leave fake 5 star reviews. Awful selections, terrible products, and by far the most ignorant staff I have EVER witnessed. I have no idea how they are able to find such awful products! Everything here seems to break right away and the prices are incredibly high. (AND THIS IS COMING FROM A GUY FROM LOS ANGELES) The staff has no clue about any of the products but they also lack common sense. Not a single employee has the most basic common sense knowledge about ANYTHING. They dont know what their tools are, what they are called, and to use or do any home projects, nothing. All their fire extinguishers are out of date and after reporting it multiple times in the past 14 months nothing has been done about it. Dont waste your time here. Find any other hardware store and save yourself the headache.

Parking lot, March 16th 2015 / 7:00 pm, its dark outside & windy. Theres one guy in the lot all the way at the other end putting carts away that have been left by inconsiderate, lazy slobs that dont care about their self, or anyones property. I come out to find a materials cart laying on the side of my 2013 BOSS 302 Mustang that I waited my whole life to get! The manager takes me inside and give me a bogus business card which he writes a claim number on, as though Menards is going to take care of the damage! The insurance guy finally gets off his backside and calls me around 3:50 pm the next afternoon and tells me that Menards is not responsible for the damage unless their employee caused it! SO, "IF" you "THINK" that (m)enards cares about you "OR" your property.... WAKE UP! They "ONLY" care about "THEIR" property....

I assure you I am a real person with real feelings to the other person who wrote on this review. I am not an employee and Ive been coming to this store for over 5 years now. Today has been a great day. Ive been in here since 6pm and it is now almost 9pm. We went from building materials with a young man who was awesome and a few more smiles and a really wonderful guy (Mr. Shawn)who has helped me find the perfect front storm/ screen/glass door!!! Mr Steve the manager has continued to keep me a faithful Menards customer! I appreciate all the people who work here with a smile. Not only do they do a great job, but they make my life less stressful by making it easy to remodel my house with the help of professional people. Cant wait to finish this project!!!

Absolutely the WORST experience I have ever had returning anything!! Do not order from their website. EVER!! It will be considered a special order, and you WILL be charged 25% "restocking" fee which is ridiculous. In my case, $250, for a vanity that customer service blatantly lied to me about the delivery timeframe, which delayed my project. I had to get one from somewhere else, just so I could have a functioning bathroom. I subsequently returned every single item I had bought for my remodel, that wasnt opened yet or installed, which equaled $495. For $250, they lost a customer for life, and thousands in my remodel! Go to LOWES! They have the best customer service!

Specials/Sales are good, but poor customer service. Recently went to purchase mulch and there was no one around to help. Finally found it and the bags were ripped, soaked and laying all over the ground. We were beyond disgusted! Never fails theres a problem EVERY time I check out. Came to the conclusion they will no longer get our business. Id rather pay the extra $$ across the street @ Lowes or Sears knowing I will have good customer service without problems in the checkout lane.

Horrible customer service from this entire establishment, including the manager BRANDY and general manager BILL. I am sure nobody from the Menards corporate office or company even monitors these or checks but at least I can warn future customers of the poor customer service and ability to help quality and loyal customers. Bottom line, shop elsewhere!

From the day you move out on your own till the day you die, Menards will be one of your favorite stores. Very well organized, a lot of bulk discounts, and even a great and cheaply priced grocery and pet selection. They also have the highest quality grocery bags, which come in very handy after taking everything home.

I am a hemiplegic in a wheelchair and the staff here is,always helpful without being solicitous. I have a limited carrying ability due to a weakened left arm they let me store some of my purchases at the service desk at times so I can continue shopping and are just generally very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

Asked for item that was clearly returned/opened and missing pieces if I could have a discount and manager said "No we will defect it out." And him and associate walked off leaving item still on shelf for next buyer. What a bunch of jerks! Im cutting up my menards card and never shopping here again!

Applied for their credit card. A slip printed that said call or go to the service desk. The girl quickly said call and I let her now the slip gave me 2 options as calling is a hassle since Im already at the store. Without even hesitation the little girl said the same thing. I am beyond annoyed.

Just the worst customer service and little knowledge. There is a Lowes right across the street. Dont hesitate to go there. They are great. Do not shopen at menards. The GM Steve does not care about anyone that isnt a corporate customer.

Nice store. I came there many times. Sometime I saved more money there than Lowes. Also they have 11 % rebated there. I never had problem there.
