Ive never had great experience here. I brought my dogs with my once and got nothing but disgusted looks from the employees. Then I went to check out and they asked if Id like to donate, I said no thank you and then the cashier asked AGAIN if Id just like to round it up to the next dollar and donate the change, I again got a disgusted look. Also, I get questioned every time I even look at the fish area of the store. "Do you know what cycling is?" "Do you know that snails multiply?" I get that these questions are to help prevent people from getting fish they cant handle but the way they ask is incredibly rude. I have 4 fully-established fish tanks and two dogs. Ive decided to take my business to Premium Pet Supply finally after I bought two aquatic plants from one of their tanks (not those little tubes) that turned out not to even be aquatic plants and a few days later my betta "mysteriously" broke out with ich after changing nothing else in the tank. The params are perfect, its been established about a year now with absolutely no problems. I end up leaving the store frustrated every time, its not worth it.

I bought a Bushynose Pleco from them about a week ago. When it was in my tank for just an hour, I noticed that it had ich. The store was already closed so I took it back the next day. They told me that it was not ich, the plecos just have white spots. I informed them that I was aware of the white skin spots, but this was raised white spots. They still stood strong that it was not ich, but offered to trade out plecos for me even though it was "not necessary"... I traded anyway. I looked at the new pleco in detail while at the store and there was no ich so I took it home. It was already too late for my tank though. My whole tank developed ich. Petco was unwilling to do anything except exchange the pleco again. I understand that they cannot warranty my other fish not bought from them, but they refused to even give me a discount on the treatment. They still refused the notion that the original pleco had ich... all this while having several tanks "under observation" for an ich problem.

Honestly, after visiting this Petco a few times I decided the chain was awful. Fortunately I visited other Petcos since then, and it turns out this one it just far worse than the norm. The fish section is absolutely disgusting...on three visits over 3 months I never saw fewer than 30 dead fish, and the stench is terrible. The rest of the store is also in need of improving their upkeep. In addition, the prices are much higher here than any other Petco or equivalent store Ive visited...up to 80% higher in some cases. I strongly recommend you take your money and business elsewhere, though unfortunately there arent a lot of pet stores in this town :(

This Petco is pretty smelly! There are dead fish floating around in tanks, the staff is poorly trained with knowledge of animals, the grooming dogs do not look that great either! The prices are ridiculous!! If you have a young puppy, do not take it in there, your dog may contract parvo from all the unvaccinated dogs roaming around their store! Parvo is AIRBORNE and the dogs there are only required to have distemper and rabies! Have you ever seen them ask for vaccinations at the door??? Who knows how many pets walk in that door with early stages of parvo.... The manager Lori also is extremely rude, do not care for her at all!

Love our dog training classes here with Rachel; often, class sizes are small enough that we get lots of individual attention with the trainer and can tailor our sessions to focus on our dogs individual needs. Other employees are happy to help with training when asked (for example, desensitizing a rescue with a fear of men). Really above and beyond customer service. They also regularly host adoption and community outreach events for local shelters/animal rescue organizations, as well as contributing funds for same. This is one store that really gives back to the animal-loving community of Bloomington-Normal!

I got a guinea pig from here, turns out she didnt feel comfortable in a house with dogs because even though my dog never went the same room as her, she started squealing and seemed scared. I went to Petco the next day to return her because They said I could but they told me they couldnt give me a refund but would still take my guinea pig back and put her back on the floor to sell again, even though they are supposed to give refunds guaranteed. Its not right that theyre going to say they cant give me a refund, but will of course take the guinea pig back to sell again while they keep my money as well.

I had a very bad experience at this store. I went to buy fish with my girlfriend. I have never done this before. We were standing there for about 15mins looking at them. There were employees that saw us and never asked if we needed help. We asked someone for help and they told us we needed a fish tank and laughed about it like we were dumb. Then after that they never told us what we needed for the tank or helped us find anything. We ended up going to Premium Pet Supply and had excellent service there

I took my dog in to get her nails done and they barley cut them and did not file them like they were told to do. The ladies were also very rude and not helpful at all. Very disapointed since I was a UofI vetrinary student who loves animals. This place is truly nasty.

I love Petco because their staff is very knowledgeable and their smiles makes us come back. If we need anything the staff is quick to help. Petco is very conscious about their living creatures and that is a big plus for me.

They quit stocking my cats favorite food. Hes very picky and only eats science diet ocean fish or tuna with chunks. I couldnt find it at the other store in town either. Really disappointed, but not as much as my poor kitty.

Got a hermit crab 2 days ago and it is now dead. PETCO is tge only place i know that has disgusting enviroments in need of cleaning and the manager saying "oh thats normal for your crab to be oozing brown goo. Dumbasses.

If you need pet supplies quick, always good spot, but overpriced and does not price match their own website or competitors, which has most fish filters $5-$25 cheaper with free shipping.

Prices high unless you catch a sale. Knowledgable staff for the lizards and reptiles . I would not by anything from the salt water fish area. Very little knowledge in that are from staff.

They are - okay. Not great, but not bad. It is more of just not much else where to go, especially for crickets. I tried the Petsmart, and they are not better, or worse, just okay.

Great customer service overall. The days they have the cat adoptions on are by far my favorite. However, some of the cats seemed a little distressed.
