Last year was a rough year for me. I was married young and my ex husband ultimately ending up physically and sexually abusing me for months. I hid it from all my family and friends out of embarrassment and shame for marrying young and it beginning to fail. He ruined any normal relationships I had with both males and females, and kept me inside and away from my friends and family. I was totally isolated and dependent on him and had completely forgotten how to even talk to other people. Talking to other males, or even having them talk to me terrified me because I knew Id have to deal with his anger and wrath afterwards behind closed doors. I kept quiet for months until I couldnt take it anymore and filed for divorce. During the divorce, he threatened to take my car, get me fired, hit me. He told me I was fat, ugly, that I was complete trash like all of his exes. He told me that no matter how much I worked out Id always be fat and I would never be a size 0 like his new girlfriend. He also told me that she didnt have to wear a ton of makeup to be beautiful, unlike me. I guess youre wondering why Im dumping such personal information onto this survey. Well in all honesty, for months after that, I believed every word he said. I stopped working out because, why bother? I stopped taking care of myself. And finally, I completely stopped wearing makeup. I entirely forgot how to do it eventually. That is why I come to Sephora, to relearn what I forgot and to regain my confidence. Ashley at the Naperville location had no idea how much she was helping me, but she was actually teaching me how to be a woman again. She was very informative and supportive in my skill level and in product knowledge. She was also very sweet and funny, and talked about how she learned and was self taught. She taught me about blending, contouring, highlighting, maintaining good skin care, eye liner, everything, she never missed a beat. Thank you for helping me get my skill and confidence back, I will forever be grateful and support Sephora.

When I came in the two young women who greeted me were very friendly and welcoming. I browsed around the store a bit checking everything out at this location, then asked an older woman with curly hair who Im assuming is the store manager if they had a specific item. She acted like I was crazy for not knowing they didnt have it, then begrudgingly offered to order it online for me - no thanks, Ill use my Flash membership and get my points and free samples, sans sass. Oh and my *gasp* free Marc Jacobs birthday gift, thats right, she was a douche to me on my birthday. I suppose I wasnt dressed fancy enough for her to warrant such a rude interaction just asking for help. My money spends the same as someone carrying a designer handbag. Go to a different location, order online, or go to the Ulta down the street - I had a fantastic shopping experience there.

Juanita was so helpful making an appointment for a makeover! I am turning 21 so my friend and I wanted to get our makeup done at the same time and we love sephora. She was able to let us get it done at the same time even though they are particularly busy Saturday. She was very nice and sweet when I told her it was for my bday! This place is the best for customer service especially over Ulta! Thanks Juanita!
