If I could give this place negative stars I would. Pet stores are horrid places that should be burned to the ground. no matter what the people here say, these dogs come from puppy mills. No reputable breeder would ever sell their dogs to a pet store. The AKC will sel papers to anyone for a price, so dont for one second think that because you have a paper that says your dog is a purebred Yorkie from a champion bloodline that its true. Often times the purebred you are paying for is mixed. You are not helping puppies by getting them here or any pet store. You are fueling the horrible practice of puppy mill breeding. Your puppy may be cute, but its "champion showdog" mom will spend her short life pumping out as many of these puppies as possible while living in a small kennel covered in her own feces until her body gives out. If you love dogs at all DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE OR ANY PLACE LIKE IT. Petland, happiness and furbabies are all the same. Lets end the abuse and put these hell holes out of business. Adopt dont shop! Make adoption your first option. And if You refuse to adopt, please find a responsible breeder who does home checks and spay and neuter contracts. Good breeders care about where their dogs are going.

Not worthy of a star. My family lost our dog of 16 years this past January. I took my mom for Mothers Day on 5/10/15 to go look at new dogs and get her into looking for one again. Upon walking in, we were explicitly told that if we are not going to leave with a dog then we can not hold them. This hurt my mom deeply, and she cried after we left and got in the car. She said she was so disappointed, and all she wanted to do for Mothers Day was to search for the perfect dog again. Thanks for breaking her heart, and ruining our experience with you. I will never go back to this location and I suggest you hire staff who can talk with adults as adults, and not as if they are high school students. We were asked to come back during the week. This is bull, and I will make sure everyone knows how inconsiderate the staff was. I will never come back and make sure no one else does that I know. Another family who heard the lady talked to us so inconsiderately also left. We ran into them at Petland and they commented to us about how rude your staff was, and how they too will not be going back. I tried calling tonight at 6 oclock to inform the manager, and no response.

We bought a cavapoo mix about 8 years ago and shes the great young dog ever shes the sweetest smartest dog ever. Shes is priceless she was 8 weeks old , when we have her. But, she snorts in her sleep & excitment. I hope thats normal & darling dog . Shes very healthy. Now the prices went up. I love puppies but, have Tinker Bell . We also have senior dogs too. All 4 dogs. Mix breeds close in age there like sisters not really. Tinker bell does get into trouble and shes only 18 pounds. We call her Tinker the stinker or Tinker Alaska. She will lock us out of my moms van . Thank you!!!! For a wonderful dog. I would get another puppy if I can but , my mom has enough right now. We also bought a min pin at 8 weeks she last until 15 years old. I have bought her. She was the greatest she had a stroke at 14 years old . She loved bread and weigh 13 pounds had to put her down from old age. She was in pain. 1994-2004. I just been there last week the one in Orland park, illinois .

Humane Society: Happiness Is Pets in Downers Grove Linked to Puppy Mills A dozen Chicago-area pet stores—including locations in Downers Grove, Lisle and Aurora—have been listed in a puppy mill investigation conducted by the Humane Society of the United States. The Humane Society said Tuesday that undercover investigators visited 12 stores over a three-day period in October, and found many are linked to inhumane commercial breeders known as puppy mills. The Humane Society said there have been many public complaints against Happiness Is Pets filed with the Illinois Department of Agriculture over the past two years, including those about sick puppies who tested positive for distemper, a puppy dying of pneumonia, and a shopper who complained that the puppies looked sick and had green mucus surrounding their noses and mouths. Another complainant said the puppies did not have food or water and that the cages were full of feces, the report states.

Bought a mini Goldendoodle. The paper work said mother and father were each 35 lbs. I should I have known the paperwork was bogus simply from the fact that the parents both weighed the exact same. By 3 months he was larger than my Wheaten and the vet said he would be around 60 lbs full grown. I tried to return him but a lady claiming to be an owner was extremely rude and wouldnt help me at all. She is in for a surprise if she is actually an officer of the company. I notified the Illinois State Attorney General, US Department of Justice, Federal trade Commission and the Illinois Justice Association. My attorney has been talking with the DuPage county states attorney to have this woman arrested for fraud and of course we are going to file a motion against Happiness is Pets for the horrific psychological damage this has caused my family. Dont buy a pet from this place, you dont know what you are really getting.

This place probably gives dogs nightmares. All of the dogs are in tiny crates with grated bottoms, meaning that the dogs are forced to walk on their own waste if it does not make it entirely through the grate. Additionally, I am willing to bet that every dog in there is from a puppy mill (if you dont know what that is, look it up to find some horrors). The store commented on a recent review saying that most of their dogs are in and out in 8-11 days... Id like to know what happens to the majority of those dogs, because I am presuming that a lot of dogs dont sell (my guess is some sort of shelter). If you purchase a dog from here you are not saving it, you are supporting puppy mills, crated dogs, and the inhumane people that run this business. I beseech the owner of this store to make some major changes or close this place down. For all of you reading this, DO NOT GO HERE!

This place is like a puppy prison. Theyre kept on steel caging that is not only very uncomfortable for their feet but very uncomfortable to sit or lie down and theyre locked in without any socialization for the entirety of their stay I went in and saw the poor things with cages full of poop and when I told an employee she reached in and grabbed it by its neck and head while it yiped and squirmed while she cleaned it and slammed the door without any concern that this was a living being with feelings. This is an extremely inhumane establishment the dogs look sick malnourished and poorly socialized and given no excercise and zero stimulation. Call PAWS. In Chicago they have beautiful pure bred and mix breed dogs for 1/16 of the price in much better health supporting a much better cause of adoption or call your local humane society. Dont support puppy mill middlemen
