DO NOT USE PETCO GROOMING! I took my dog to this petco a almost a year ago to get groomed, he came home with bald patches on him that still have not grown back. Shortly after I went to buy crickets and a dog needed its nails trimmed, the dog was clearly anxious about it so they had three employees pin the dog to a grooming table in order to trim its nails. Today I was at petco and a little Yorkie was getting groomed and was scared of the clippers (had its tail tucked, tried to get away from the clippers) the groomer decided to first pick the dog up by the hair around its face and and put her face right in the dogs face. Then she used the dogs ear to hold it up in order to shave the dogs neck. When she saw me staring her down she quickly stopped what she was doing and pet the dog. I would NOT recommend taking your dog to this petco to get grommed.

Out of the pet stores around here, they arent nearly as bad as Petland (which should be shut down) but its not as good as Petsmart or the St. Charles PETCO. The reptile tanks are, more often than not, pretty full of feces. The mice Ive bought the last two times have been sick within a short amount of time when arriving home (about 2 hours) and have died within a day (I hate keeping mice in the house but if my snake isnt hungry, I have to hold on to them). Ive never had that problem from the other PETCO or the animal expo. All in all its an ok pet shop, but there are better within a not too far distance.

Really terrible. The customer service was increasingly Un-enticing. I waited 45 minutes for help with reptiles, even after they called for help over by the reptiles. The workers once they finally came to help were very unenthusiastic about their jobs, didnt even smile or say hi, and were rude with informing me on the policies of pet owning. I would rather drive further than to go to this petco.

We visited on Monday June 5th, to take a glance at the ferrets and to our dismay, saw their food bowls were bare of food and had only bedding in them. several of the ferrets were eating the bedding which could mean theres a chance of impaction in their intestines. Came once before several months ago, and all the lights were off and the fish tanks were not tended too. Would not recommend.

This is a depressing store. Run down and old come to mind when thinking about this location. Can hardly believe the owner of this store pulls into the pot hole riddled parking lot and walks in thinking wow this is the way I always dreamed it would look. Bull doze this place and let somebody else build a run a new one.

This place is always dirty & its always creepily dark. One morning I came in with my dog and she peed on the ground. The clean up spot had no paper towels so I told a worker. She gave me a dirty look and completely ignored me. I used to love this place, but over the past few years its gone completely down hill.

I dont like this Petco location at all the manager and employees are untrained and inexperienced. The Petco in Elgin on the other hand is wonderful and have excellent staff I would recommend to go there instead.

Awesome service from a guy named Nick. He has long black hair and glasses, He seemed very educated and polite. He helped me find the perfect puppy gate and made my experience worth 5 stars.

The employees are courteous and the store has most pet needs. The lighting is a bit dim and "yellow" and makes it seem like the store is dingy when it isnt

Good place to get highly reduced shots for your pet (call to find out when the shot clinic is there) but it took 2 hours because its a popular service.
