I was a longtime customer because its convenient and they did a generally okay enough job to not necessitate searching out a new place. NO MORE. My dog is a breed with sensitive skin, so I always get an oatmeal bath to help with the products they use. My most recent trip in, I paid for the oatmeal bath, a nail trim and grinding, and ears cleaned. She did not get her oat meal bath. How do I know? For the past two weeks Ive been frantically slathering her in anti-itch lotions and tying socks onto her feet to keep her from tearing through her skin, which is a real issue, thanks to that nail job they did. Maybe half of her nails even saw the grinder. None were trimmed. She is foot-shy, yes, but not much and not at all violently. Just a little twitchy. She weighs less than a bowling ball; a groomer can easily manage to get her to cooperate, especially since shes leashed to the table and cant go anywhere. She was in dire need of a pedicure when she went in, and just as in need when she came out. Ive had to do one every other night myself because I dont have a fancy table leash with fluorescent overhead lights everywhere and I have to wrestle her into uncomfortable positions in uncomforable places she doesnt like to see her paws. Her report card marked her ears as clean" to begin with and said they were cleaned; that night, I found a bunch of wax just from her ear flopping over. Best friend assured me up and down the groomer probably just dislodged it in the cleaning. That still sat wrong with me, since that wax should have been cleaned up in my eyes rather than left on her outer ear. I check her ears every other week, and when Id checked them the week before, they were absolutely fine. Then came the ear infection. Shes never had one in her life, but she was shaking her head a little later that night, like there was something in there. a few days later it blew up into constant ear itching, constant head shaking, whimpering, heat, and inflammation. For those who dont know: ear infections cost a LOT of money to treat. In addition, I was slightly more dissatisfied than normal upon recieving her, since her eyes werent really cleaned up (shes white, so tearstains really show) and she didnt have the bows that she got every single other time she went there. In addition, she didnt smell nice like she usually does, but thats irrelevant now, because she just smells like spit from chewing on her still-slightly-irritated skin. Its lessened enough now that I dont feel the need to cone her, at least. tl;dr: Immediate presentation was highly lacking, services paid for were not completed or very poorly done, no care was put forth. Dog came home with the beginnings of a bad ear infection and an exceptionally bad reaction to product. Not recommended for any dog with sensitive skin or who actually needs to go to the groomer. Might be okay for unconscious labradors just needing a bath.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS FOR GROOMING HERE!!! THEY ABUSE YOUR ANIMALS AND DONT DO THEIR JOB!!!! I took my 2 Chihuahuas here to get groomed because I didnt have the time that day. A guy named Jason took them. He said it would take two hours when there werent any other dogs there. They are Chihuahuas! How can small dogs take that long when there were NO other dogs in the place?? So, I decided to shop. As I was walking back in to ask a question, I heard my 5 lb Chihuahua Yelp in pain. I called out and said, "Is everything ok?" He came out and told me yes, but I was worried. Two hours later, I came back and they said my dogs werent done. Another hour passed and I finally said I need my dogs. When they came back to me, they were shaking fiercely as if they were abused. They also werent bathed or cleaned like I paid for ahead of time. They smelled exactly the same as when I brought them in. This jerk Jason claimed they bathed them, but I know my dogs and know what they smell like when they are bathed and when they arent. He also clipped their nails to the quick and they both were bleeding. I vowed to NEVER take them there again. I felt horrible subjecting my babies to that monster. If you love your dogs and dont want your dogs abused or mistreated and want someone to actually do the job they promised, dont go here!!

Not happy. I have NEVER been greeted when I walk in. I NEVER get offered help, finding someone on the floor is near impossible. The one time that I did get help, they didnt have a clue what they were talking about (two employees, mind you)!! I have an aquatic turtle and they were saying that Im not supposed to be feeding it crickets!? What? Of course you can! Ugh! Who knows, maybe I just always went during bad times of the day. All I do know is the new Petco down the street is my favorite store now! Theyre great! And they have a better selection of pet food.

I took my 4 year old Westie here for grooming. The first 2 experiences the groomers listened and did exactly what I wanted. This last time, he looks awful. He had razor burn on both sides of his neck and did not have the full Westie round face. His nails were also extremely rough and I even paid extra to have those trimmed and rounded. They have pictures all over the store of a properly groomed Westie, yet that is not what I received. I complained about it in store and only received a measly $5 off. Avoid unless you like spending $50+ for a scalped dog.

PetSmart took the time to work with my dogs special needs - he has a fear of being crated, and a fear of people, cuz he was mistreated in the past. So they recommended Express Grooming. Theres no crating and it takes half the time; they stay with him all the way through until hes done and it works out just fine for him. There was another groomer that wouldnt even groom him because she was afraid. I may pay more money, but its worth it- Im very happy with PetSmart, and more importantly MY DOG is happy with PetSmart.

I have had good experiences with grooming and classes. We bring all of our dogs there for both and the grooming is always nice, though our dogs are pretty low maintenance. I have found the obedience instructor to be knowledgeable and helpful. My only big complaint would be the food. I do not feel most of the food is good quality. I buy my food at a feed store. I also usually buy my toys and treats elsewhere, where it is a bit cheaper.

Just got crickets from Petsmart in mchenry. I asked for 90 large crickets for my 4 bearded dragons. The pet care associate swore there were 90 crickets in the bag but I counted differently. I was right. He missed counted by 20 crickets under then what I wanted. Im sick and tired of being ripped off by them. I am now going to start buying my crickets online. Thanks, Petsmart.
