(If I could post this with no star or negative stars I would but I had to at least give one star in order to post my review). THE STORE CLOSEST TO ME HAS THE WORST MANAGER AND STAFF EVER, the living situations for the fish, lizards, bearded dragons, birds, etc. are the dirtiest, most discussing thing. They leave dead fish in tanks for weeks which will cause EVERY FISH IN THE TANK TO DIE DUE TO THE DECOMPOSITION, CAUSING DEADLY BACTERIA TO FORM AND INFECT THE WHOLE AQUARIUM, and its not just one of the tanks... Its every single one of them, I estimated at least 5 dead in every tank and when I returned to get the fish I purchased from them replaced those exact dead fish were still there, starting to rot. Its awful, the birds cages dont look like they have been cleaned for at least a month! I could go on and on. Im calling their corporate offices to inform them of the improper care of their "products" and of the incompetent and RUDE staff members. Hopefully its just the ARLINGTON HEIGHTS store in ILLINOIS off of DUNDEE ROAD!

I like their selection in products, but I dont like how this chain treats its animals for sale, not unlike other chain stores. Fish tanks are small and grossly overcrowded, hermit crabs have no choice but to use painted shells that are toxic to them, and now theyre selling dyed African Clawed Frogs and calling them by a different name, which Ive never seen before. Employees are friendly, but as usual, not knowledgeable on the animals they sell.

Its OK, BUT invariably staff is signing people up for marketing promotions while I am waiting to check out holding heavy bags. This can take 10 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, other employees do not open another register.Not considerate or respectful to regular customers to the point that I am not going back! Chewy...here I come...

I came in sick and had to get kitty litter. I was wheezing my way to the register when these 2 teens came running up to "beat me" in line. The register attendant stopped them and made sure not only was I taken care of first, but that I was OK. He then had help take the litter to my car. Customer for life!

The prices are always competitive, the store is always clean and well stocked, the animals enclosures are clean and all the animals are healthy. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, always eager to help and remember you. I always shop here for my pets needs
