I first went to randy (I know that name isnt capitalized, he is not deserving of a capital letter in front of his name) based on a referral from someone who had used his services many years ago. Upon walking in to the small jewelry store I noticed that randys focus was not specifically designated toward understanding what I wanted to create in a ring. It has been 12 years that I have been with the person who I consider the most important and expect a jewelry store who claims to be an excellent jeweler to be able to provide great customer service as well as understanding. I was instructed that I would receive an AutoCAD showcasing my design. A month had passed and nothing was ever received. I did however receive a phone call from his son stating that the ring I designed was ready for final purchase. After requesting photos I was able to review with complete disbelief. The ring was nothing that I had designed, in fact it was a basket that was simply cut off of one ring and placed on another. If I could include photos in this review I would! Mind you this is a $10k purchase. I then immediately call randy after receiving photos from his son letting him know that this is not what we had spoken about or agreed upon. He then immediately blamed it on the ring specialist who creates the ring. Stating that there was a miscommunication with his instructions that were never passed on to the ring creator. I placed a $500 deposit towards a diamond that was never received and the quality of the diamond was not what was advertised. Bare in mind that when you shop at this location they do not use GIA certified diamonds. A small quote from randy "I dont provide high quality diamonds, I provide the aesthetic looks people look for". I did a little research with a high end diamond specialist who creates the Dallas Cowboys jewelry. I was being charged over $4,600 for a low quality diamond (EGL) where if I decided to actually purchased the same type of diamond as mentioned to randy it would actually cost me $5,300 for (GIA). Now wouldnt someone who is looking for the ring of a lifetime want a diamond that is true to the name and certifiable by a company that is world renowned for their high quality? According to randy it does not matter because he is more interested in charging a high premium for low quality. Not the greatest business model! I kept my cool and notified randy that I wish to retract my deposit, which was securing the diamond in the meantime for me. He then stated that the refund is non-negotiable and cannot be refunded. Now keep in mind in the fine print it does say that in the event that I would have a return I could then use that as an in store credit. I am pretty sure that money is lost and will never be seen again simply based on the lack of communication, care, value, quality and desire to truly care for what his customers are looking for. If there can be any way I could give negative starsin this review I truly would, sadly were only limited to a 1 star. Bare in mind that it is your duty to do your research based on customer feedback and knowledge. I am in high end customer service and can assure you that I would never let something with thousands of dollars on the line happen the way this happened. This is also my first review ever as I am one to not complain, I am usually an "I dont care" kind of person and do not let anything get to me. But when it has to do with the one person I am trying to make mine for a lifetime it is an extremely sensitive matter. I would not recommend even driving by this place let alone walking in to look at his cheap merchandise. He sell EGL quality diamonds for GIA pricing. Check the difference between the two if you arent knowledgable in the matter. I hope this review helps you make a better decision in your future purchases with a low end company as well as quality. I truly hope randy sees this review and decides to respond because I would love to show you a response that would validate all of the previously stated! Hope you make a wise choice and steer way from this low grade location

What a joke, I only went there because my mother liked him. We went there to get our weding rings and thought we picked something good at a fair price! Ha!! Traded in the original bridal set for a Better" ring, the center stone had a huge flaw so asked him to replace it and raise the center stone. Picked it up way later than promised and didnt even get a phone call to let us know it was ready. Later after going to Dalzell in Crystal lake found out that not only was the stone replaced with a bad one it wasnt even close to what the first ring was worth! I do NOT recommend this place even to my worst enemy!!!! They are never open when they are suposed to be and if you want to talk to a Jewler good luck, Randy is never in!

That other review is stupid. Some out of towner spammer or something.... it almost stopped me from going but I went anyway and What a great guy! I walked in with a badly swollen finger (long story) and it was cut up pretty bad, he was really super friendly and patient and took his time to cut my wedding ring off :( and gently took care of getting it off my finger and placing it in a bag and I left without a fee and assurances that in few weeks when the swelling goes down, he would help me resize and fix my beloved wedding ring. So I will write another review in a few weeks. I almost didnt go b/c of one bad review, but glad I did.

I brought in one of my favorite vintage rings to be repaired. The stone kept falling off. Patrick was great explaining my options and prices. The sides needed to be lifted to keep stone in place. I didnt want to spend alot of money but really wanted the ring fixed. Patrick worked with me with a satisfactory option. My ring looks beautiful. They also cleaned it and polished so nicely it looks new. All in all, I am very happy & satisfied with Patricks work. Thank you Patrick, Im a very happy customer.

I went over to the jewelry store when I bought my new ring from Zales and they sold me a ring 3 ring sizes to big. they where going to charge me 60 dollars and 2 weeks till I would get it back and I went over to Midas and the owner gave told me 20 dollars and have it back to u in a week. I got it back and it was perfect. This is an amazing place to fix jewelry and to buy stuff great quality and great people to work with I highly recommend to use them.

I cant even begin to describe how perfect my engagement ring is. I just got engaged last night and I feel its necessary to rave about how amazing this jewelry store is as soon as I could. My fiancé went in with a picture and its spot on. Not a flaw. Might I mention that the owner and his son took so much care and value into their work. They worked with my fiancé day and night. They are the best! We HIGHLY recommend this place!! Love them.
