I have been a long time Rural King customer since they opened in Highland, purchasing power tools, electrical and plumbing supplies and lawn and garden equipment over the years. On a Saturday morning in early June I brought in a string trimmer for service. The guy at the service counter told me it might be 3-4 weeks before they would get to it. I told him thats fine, I could wait. He then told me that it could take longer since they focus on "servicing what they sell" first. Again I told him I could wait. He took my trimmer and filled out a work order request. After 6 weeks and not hearing anything., I dropped by on 7/16 to see if my trimmer was ready. The person at the service desk found my trimmer, with service tag still attached and told me they hadnt gotten around to it yet. Very patiently I asked when they might be able to look at it. He explained that "with the storm last week we are very busy" and did not know when they would get to it. "Besides", he said "we have to take care of what we sell first." I said since they could not commit to a date for repair I would take my trimmer and go somewhere else. First, I completely understand prioritizing service for equipment that you sell, that makes sense. BUT I waited almost 2X the amount of time I was originally told the service would take. What I dont appreciate is that even with my contact information, no one called to tell me "it was taking longer than we thought", or "were still very busy" or just say we dont want to work on your trimmer so take your business and money someplace else. Management needs to rethink their customer service policy.

Got up early to go here on Black Friday to use a coupon on the front of their ad where you draw from a bucket to get a percentage off thinking Id buy something if I got a percentage off. I went directly to a cashier to see my percentage off and was told I could only do it at the time of purchase. Didnt say that anywhere in the ad. Needless to say, you didnt get any of my money today, nor will you ever. Thanks for wasting my time.
