Worst online purchase experience Ive ever had. Ordered a rain suit from Bass Pro for an upcoming fishing outing. After a week went by without hearing anything from them I called to find out they cancelled my order without ever sending me a notice - no email, no call, no nothing. They had all my contact information. The customer service rep apologized and confirmed they mistakenly never sent me a notice. Said it had nothing to do with my payment, their system mistakenly just cancelled the order - very odd. After 2+ hours of online chatting and phone calls with their customer service to get things straightened out, I was offered a $10 credit on my next purchase. One of my favorite stores to buy sporting goods from online is Cabelas, within a few days after the above episode it was announced Bass Pro was buying out Cabelas. So much for their exceptional customer service. I will never buy anything from Bass Pro again, they dont give a crap of how much their customers are inconvenienced by their mistakes.

Purchasing a $30,000 + boat with nothing but lack of customer service and false information being provided. This store works for the employee schedules not for the customer in the least. I can tell you the documentation provided indicates the hours of pick up are M-Sat 9am - 4pm. Now, after inaccurate dates for our boat availability, we are being told another week will have to go by AND it will be an exception. Jim the assistant manager indicates Saturdays at 9 am is an exception? This is ludicrous. Completely unaware of how to deliver quality customer service. We live in an area that houses 100s of marinas. We will go spend our money elsewhere - by the way this is our 2nd attempt to purchase from Bass Pro. Should have learn my lesson with the first experience when the "financing employee Denise" never called us after two weeks.

They recently had a water pipe burst which made some of the merchandise difficult to access, but not impossible. While I was in between a product display and a sheet plastic wall they had put up I was told I could not be there due to "insurance reasons". The employees themselves didnt even attempt to retrieve the product I needed. They were older gentlemen and they could not physically get back there, and they did not attempt to contact someone who was more agile. I was looking to buy 300 rounds of ammo and a bore snake but I simply left after they did not provide any customer service what so ever. Also their FFL transfer fee and background check fee is outrageous. Go to Schranks SmokenGun for superior customer service and pricing. Trust me, just steer clear of Bass Pro Shops. Its all overpriced anyway.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This review is about their gun area. First I had just one question, theres 2 guys working one is talking to a customer and the other is a new guy that couldnt help me. However he said the other guy could. I waited for a half hour and still wasnt helped. The guy that could answer my question was having a side conversation about being in the military and had nothing to do with a potential gun sale. So as priorities goes they have none. Also their gun selection is small to begin with but to add to it they were out of a lot of hand guns. Will be going somewhere else to purchase any more firearms which is too bad cause I wanted to also purchase an AR-15. But not from them it seems. Also they have a gun range but its been remodeling for several months now.

Doesnt stand behind what they sell. Buyer beware! Bought a gun out of the case. Waited the standard 3 day waiting period, picked it up yesterday. Brought it home thinking I would be able to go to the range today. WRONG After getting the gun home I find it has a label on it showing the gun to be a display model that had been in the case for almost 2 years. No one told me I was buying a floor model that has been handled over and over again. Called Bass Pro and was told to bad. I can bring the gun to the store and pay all the handling charges for them to send the gun back. I have not even had the gun 24 hours, never even been able to shoot it. Still cant and now it has to go back to the manufacturer. I will never buy another gun from Bass Pro!!!

I bought my first-ever handgun here this past Friday, July 22, during their "NRA Freedom Days" promotion. Got a GREAT deal in the pistol itself, a Taurus model PT1911 in stainless steel, which was on sale. I also received a free multi-pistol hard case, and ½ hour of free range time. And Kevin was just great with customer service. Cant wait to hit the range with this thing and do some shooting. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Go. Shop here. Very disappointed by the rudeness of staff. Wanted to consult a salesperson on archery equipment, instead spent 40 minutes being completely ignored by him, while he was shooting wind with a buddy of his. I understand by being a complete newbie would not interest him as much as somebody who shares the same passion, but not even a "Hi, I will be with you in a minute." I doubt I will ever come back to the store. Gander and Cabelas are around and treat people better.

We went to the Tracker boats and we were there at least 15 min. And nobody ever came by. Ive had a Tracker for 14 years and was considering upgrading, but I guess I dont need to. Went over to the fishing items and couldnt find reel covers. Asked a gentleman, who was stocking shelves, where they were. He acted put out that I asked. He did point them out. We ended up spending well over $100.00 at your store. Too bad your help isnt more on the ball.

I walked in looking for a couple of things and was greeted kindly and shown to the particular items I was looking for. When I went to check out I was greeted by a sweet girl by the name of Angela. She was very kind and asked if I had and wanted a rewards card. I was happy to say yes. This is a great place to shop, with a very friendly and helpful staff. My wife, our two dogs, and I really like Bass Pro in Gurnee. My wife says womens clothing is nicely priced. I like the hunting-shooting section and the well-run indoor range. Our pups like the doggie treats at cust service and the friendly people who stop us all over the store to talk. We have recently left Illinois, but a new BPS store opens next week near our new home, and we will certainly patronize it.

I love going there. The store is kept and clean. Prices vary in competitiveness. The rifle and pistol range is clean and organized. Its best to call in and book a time slot. Don is a great asset to the range masters over there. He is personable, helpful and approachable. He doesnt make you feel like your have no business there even if you are a newbie. Great hunting department staff.
