I have purchased at least four pairs of eyeglasses from Professional Eye Care Center over the past, perhaps 10 years. I didnt have a problem until I purchased the third pair. I began to notice what appeared to me like a deterioration of the lenses. There were "smears" that began on one lens and then the other. These "smears" obstructed my vision and I had never seen them on the last two pairs of eyeglasses that I had purchased. Having paid more than $500 for my glasses, I was very careful when I cleaned them using water (or a purchased cleaner for eyeglasses) and a special cloth specifically used for cleaning eyeglasses. I took them back to the center and I was told that there was nothing that could be done about it. I could purchase new lenses at a cost of over $200.00. Since the prescription was more than four years old, I opted to buy a new pair of glasses for over $600.00. I believe this was less than two years ago. Over the last few months, I observed the lenses of the new glasses were producing a very "cloudy" film over them, which impacted my vision. I returned to Professional Eye Care Center on Saturday, May 23, 2015 with all four pairs of glasses that I had purchased. The person I spoke to informed me that there was nothing that could be done with my latest pair of glasses because the non-glare coating was coming off. This was the first time I had ever heard the term "non-glare coating". I showed her the other three eyeglasses and she said the non-glare coating had come off the third pair. She went on to say the first two pairs (much older prescriptions) had clear lenses because there was no non-glare coating on the lenses. I had never been told about non-glare coating. Had I been told when I brought the third pair of glasses into the center that it was the non-glare coating wearing off, I would have certainly instructed them NOT to put the non-glare coating on the fourth pair. I was told there is nothing Professional Eye Center can do regarding my situation and I would have to purchase new lenses so I contacted the BBB. Since there was no response from the company, the case was closed. Im out over a thousand dollars.

I have been going to Professional Eye Center for years and I absolutely love it. The customer service from the employees is friendly and professional. When I first started going there it was my first time wearing glasses and the staff helped me feel more confident about wearing them and helped me choose the best fit for my look. I have been reading a few of the other reviews and I have not experienced any of those issues. If anyone was to ask me for a good eye doctor I would definitely recommend Professional Eye Center. Whenever I need my glasses readjusted they help me with no problem. By the time I reached 16, Dr. Washington, suggested wearing contacts. At first I was scared they would get stuck in my eyes but then I saw all the different colors and got excited about wearing them; the staff member that assisted me took time and patience to make sure I was able to get them in and out by myself and I appreciate the time and effort they put in.

I have read other reviews and I m not quite sure why everyone gave this place a bad review. I visited the Hyde Park location and the secretary there was very welcoming. Ms. Brenda came out and asked me to fill out some paperwork, after the work was done she returned immediately. I told her that I used glasses for a while but I want to try a chance with contacts but wasn t sure how to put them in. After a visit with Dr Washington she told me what my prescription was and said that Brenda would teach me how to use them. After a couple of mistakes I finally got the hang of it with the help of Brenda, my contacts were ordered and came in within a couple of hours. I had an outstanding experience at Professional Eye Center and I have told all of my co-workers, family & friends to visit and get a eye exam.

I m writing this review to let everyone know of the professional experience I had at Professional Eye Center. I recently took my son to the doctor and he recommeded that I take him to see an optometrist. I called around to find a place that would take a child that was six months old. I called the College of Optometry and the first avaliable appointment would have been a month away. I really needed to get my son in to see someone sooner. I kept looking until I found Professional Eye Center in Hyde Park. The service there was very professional. The staff was great. They showed a lot of care and patience with my son. Especially with this being his first visit to an eye doctor. Mianca

The service at Professional Eye Care is excellent. The customer service is great i needed a pair of glasses I found a nice pair with the help of one of the optical assistance. Seeing that I cant wear contacts due to dry eye, it was great that they were able to assist me in finding a pair of glasses. I like how when I come their there is always different ex terns, also assisting you with great customer service. That is great how she except different students from different schools. She takes time out to allow her manager to train different students every 3 months. THANKYOU, Mike
