Iced Scorpion Mocha. Its the best. Great espresso (Sightglass from S.F.), good chocolate from Europe, and just a touch of Scorpion pepper to open ones taste buds and make the other flavors stand out. Not a drink to gulp -- sip and savor. Another amaze-o thing: Cajeta Caneles -- they have a goat cheese caramel in them. Its dark and rich, not too sweet, not messy, and combines with the crispy/crunchy darkly-baked exterior to be a perfect complement to the Scorpion Mocha. They arent always available, but when they are, get one.

My first time there, I was surprised by the emptiness--only one customer, the barista hidden in the back and a tiny pastry selection. When asking for a suggestion for coffee, the barista responded with "So, our menu is pretty straight forward" and pointed to it. When I ordered a coffee, she said they were out and would have to make a batch without apology (not a huge deal to wait but no coffee made at a coffee shop?) It was good but nothing special.

Val makes absolutely fantastic pastries! Fresh every day, no set menu, just what she decides to make that day. There is usually a savory pastry of some kind, and something gluten free. All of them delicious! Coffee is great too, but its Vals baking that will keep me going there.

I really enjoy this place! I mostly drink tea, but the coffee here is so good that I always get a cappuccino when I go. The pastries are fresh made everyday and are also delicious. There isnt a lot of comfortable seating, but its just the perfect place to quickly stop.

The coffee is incredible, but the pastries here are the real heroes. Fennel twists, pimento cheese biscuits and other goodies are tasty all hours of the day. Amazing alternative to the Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks that flank the block.

Vals always serving up unique and delicious from-scratch pastries at a modest price, coupled with really good coffee and tea. Stop in and see whats shes made today!

The coffee was very good. 3$for 12oz made it pretty expensive. Still worth the money. Pastry selection very limited (at noon).
